From my perspective I would say no. After I got my PC running stable (no games were working right) X3 runs flawlessly, as do the rest of my games. And, from my perspective, the only thing I would like to see added is some more content, but I still love the game to death. From what I've seen with almost all new games is that extra content is added with every new update. Is there something wrong with this game that makes it need a patch??
Great job Egosoft! I love X3 and keep up the great work!

Is an update really so importent to make so much cries over it ?
Due to the fact that your game is running "flawlessly" I would say congrats to you for being one of the lucky ones. However a patch is needed for the other 50% of us who have a buggy product. It was needed about 3 months ago.
Egosoft try and get it right this time.
The most annoying bug is the AI path finding and this is further amplified in capital class ships. I once sat and watched my Argon mammoth sail up to a gate while I was ensconced in the nose turret enjoying the ride through various sectors. I was busy remote-administrating my stations.
So engrossed was I in this that I failed to react in time as my mammoth - on autopilot - bumped itself to destruction against the gate spar.

And Dr_Katz, have you actually been playing the game?

Scary, since it's obvious that X3 isn't a completely different engine. Oh, well, hopefully the bugfixes will be over with in a few patches and there can begin to be content added.TuXoR wrote:X3 is as bugged as X2 was. And some bugs seems to be the same as well.
So by patch 1.4 it'll be ok to play, hopefully...

I wonder the same about some people. Some of the bugs we complain about and the fanboys deny having are ones that relate to features missing in the game; verified by EgoSoft.

I notice that a lot of people are having a buggy game, and that some are not:
I went from all but unplayable prior to the sound card, to an ejoyable experience post sound card.
I have updated my system quite a bit since i got the game, and can say without a doubt that getting a sound card, and disengaging the Motherboard sound card was the absolute best thing. My framerates shot through the roof, and I have yet to run into one CTD or freeze since I made the last change. I don't even get jittery in Argon Prime. However, when I am heavily engaged with multiple hostiles, a notice a stight framerate slowdown.I am playing 3 days now on 1.21 and so far it runs OK only a bit laggy in 2 "big" sectors .

Guys, guys, guys! I don't get what all the fuss is about! X3 never had any bugs for me and finished the plot first time! I for one am hoping Ego don't waste all their time fixing problems that never existed!
Ego, don't listen to these people! Your game is *perfect*, I, and I'm sure everyone else who posted in this thread, would much rather that you spent your time more productively, such as sipping a budweiser in a bar in the Carribean. But only after you impliment the much discussed and looked forward to bug fix for the Teladi Osprey - It's about time it looked like Santas Sleigh again!

Regarding compairing egosoft to BMW, AUDI and Mercedes
Well, hopefully it would not be the other way around and Egosoft learns from THEM!
Since it was brought up. Having owned two Audi A4 with the same problem known to Audi since the beginning of A4 and no resolution in sight. (just that if you drive more than 60000 km than its your fault and your gone pay it /at half its price). (Sweden: "Länkarmar"... whatever that is...).
Everybody doing this. Egosoft just want to try to rectify the errors. For free. (Well, you could buy two X3 for tha price of one "Länkarm" and you have eight... go figure!)
Just want things gonna be right!
Cheer up!
(Perhaps the new improved A4 is alot better, but i don't wanna try another...)
