i like this rebalancing mod but i have a question. is their a way to take cockpits out? they slow down performance.

the cockpits are optionals, you want them, you download the mod and the "optional pack", you don't want them, you downalod the mod only.

Hey grate mod, but it seems that the trail problem still exists with the Blast Claw Prototype that you get at Vile of Delusions.

Also could you update PSCO1's cockpit pack to the newest version? 1.15b i believe.

yes, there is a new version v1.15b

- i've renommed 10000.bod to 10002.bod
- It should be compatible yet because no additionnal files 'just 3D adjustements

Hello all,

What a great Mod :D

I have this and a lot of other mods and scripts. All is well, apart from when I build and join two factories, when it comes to the little movie where it shows the complex hub. It show the TL that is building the factory, then CTD when its time to spin the camera around the docking hub.

I thought it was the Complex Cleaner or another mod/script I used, removed them and tried again, no joy :(
In the end I checked I could build complexes using all other mods apart from the rebalance mod, when that was added, CTD at the hub video bit.

Does this mod change the hub complexes built when using a complex construction kit at all? and can I change something to put it back to a default graphic? (if that is the problem)

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem before, as the forum search function is a bit flakey at best.

Any help is apprieciated greatly.

Well I'm staggered by this mod - apart from a brief foray into XTM for reunion it's the first Mod I have ever used. Gameplay is immensely improved - Watching other ships duke it out now is a pleasure - It is exceptionally close to my idea of 'balance'.

Together with Gazz's MARS and Graxster's no civilians I feel I've got a different game - And when I'm feeling brave I'll also install the OOS rebalance.

I will update the PSCO cockpit pack when I manage to download his mod...

I found the Trail problem and fixed it. Reuploaded the fixed mod.

@Chull: that looks like a issue of an old version (0.58 ) that I have resolved in the 0.59, anyways I just tried and my Complex kits were perfectly working in the 0.59. Try to download again the old or download the new version.

@Gavrushka: Thanks for the positive comments! :) If you feel really brave you can try Improved Races by 7ate9tin11s (when he finishes the next build to fix some bugs) he actually managed to make Khaaks and Xenons (and other races as well) more.... bloodthirsty. It is fully customizable with plenty of options too, to suit your level of expertise.

Try switching through all your outside views before building a factory.

In Reunion it used to do warped black magic stuff with textures so for some players, if they didn't perform this ritual, X3 would crash when trying to start the cutscene.

I got a nosebleed installing the three - No Civilians went as a Mod, yours as a 'false patch?' and MARS as a script but I was left with a .cat and .dat (from MARS) I didn't know what to do with from there so I left them out! :( (I'd tried installing them as another false patch but that stopped rebalance working) - I'm reading through whatever tutorials I can find to learn how to add more in due course.

Thanks for all the replies and ideas :D Once I've downloaded X3 via steam (yet again) I'll give them all a try, and I just noticed that there is a newer version than the one I was using.

And if I didn't make it clear enough, a big BIG thanks to Someoneelse for making this mod!

I want to get a cerberus with all-round plasma beam cannons, hu-rah!

you can have all mods as false patches, just follow the install procedure again.

so in your example you could have my mod as the 09.cat/dat then the No Civilians (I advise to use the one you find from my first page due to some fixes added by draffut) as the 10.cat/dat, something else as the 11.cat/dat and so on.

just make a small note somewhere to say what each file is... just in case you need to update or remove them. I lost hours looking into my cat/dats to find out what they were, one day....

the only problem is that if the mods that you install contain conflicting files ( the MARS minimod and SRM for example) the game will load only the ones contained in the last numbered cat/dat file. Causing trouble.

and... the MARS minimod for the drones is already merged into mine, so just leave it out.

btw... I forgot to add the compatibility to experimental beam weapons on most capitals.... :o that will be in the next version.

I've a problem with installing the mod. The game seems to go into a black screen and will be stuck there when I start it up with the mod installed. I tried this on a vanilla 2.1 game. Installed the mod with both the fake patch method and putting it into the 'mods' folder. I also tried to delete the file in the mov folder, but that didn't help either. Game works just fine if I remove the mod.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

That's what I'd tried to do - and your mod stopped working - Now I understand why - I'll go sort it and go find myself a 12, 13, 14... :D

Well, I got my game running fine, with about 6 mods, and about a dozen scripts, so all is good.

You mention beam weapons... I can't wait :D
Will the next version be save game compatible? and be able to just overwrite the old version?

well... :roll: I won't do nothing that requires a restart for sure.
Using cheats to create a brand new ship OR sell the old and buy a new one will probably be required if i change some features to have an "updated" ship. The game is sooooo conservative.

On a totally unrelated note... I've just noticed this, but if you look at the top turrets on the Brig they are totally scewed to the port side which seems a little odd - not something you've done, that's how they are vanilla. Not sure if you're realigning turrets but that's one to note anyway ;)
