I find that highly unlikely.
Sounds like a Mom.

At any rate I noticed in either a screen shot or one of the promo movies, a complex with some nicely placed tubes. And am wondering, was this the result of a master complex builder? Or a hint to a better way of connecting fabs?

Or perhaps one, gigantic station?

They're all good ideas in my book. :D

In X3 Reunion few of them were enough for me.

In OOS they fight as sheeps(against same capital ships), but in hands of good pilot they can win most of the battles.

P.S.
Interesting, do they know anything about self-preservation ?
If I fight at M2 and it's shields less than 1/3 of maximum, I will try to jump out of the battle at least.
Yea, there is no point of having capital few class ships in X3:R really. That is why we need to make some dynamic in the game. So far, only economic has a very good dynamic.

How about the military system? Are you satisfy with killing pirate, become a pirate, killing xenon, kha’ak? Is there any objective for this?

And what in the world you can become the first rank in military without having few capital class ship under your command?

At the end of the day, you have universe economic under your control and therefore you can buy any Capital Ship. But what is the point?

If Shield Down to 1/3, boarding is now available. Even if you jump away the marine inside will transmit the signal to your enemy. Bah, this is not official. I just make it up on how can we improve the military system.

Really, you will lose objective playing this game after months/years in your real life. I really want to see what ship they can offer. Not like bounce of M3. M3+… Introduction of a Flag Ship will be the real one.
Every nation should have their own Flag

Beside Military Outpost, you can create Military Training Ground to improve royalty of your crews and also upgrade their equipment to handle any boarding party or to provide good training over boarding to the capital ship.

Each member of your crew can gain experience and eventually a military rank. So now, every capital ship must have a high rank officer. So you must train your crew up to the required rank to be able to buy new cap ship.
Or you can provide a Cap Ship training program to your crew.

Do you expect the computer will fly every cap ship you have? This is non sense.

By making this system, you will have better objectives and purposes.

but perhaps not as bad as the wait for X2, which was pushed back quarter after quarter. That doesn't seem to be happening here. Let's just hope V1.0 isn't so buggy as that's what the reviews will be based on, and most X3 reviews seemed to ignore the excellent support Egosoft provide over the years...

Independent, non-player owned corporations with their own unique ships and stations, offering new friends or foes to the player;
Other corporations with their own ships !
Haven't seen that one mentioned earlier, does that mean that a "Stellar Trade Corp" or something has completely unique ships or just a special variant.

Its not likely to mean different ship models, since they've said '100 new ships'. It more likely means variants.

This raises an interesting possibility if those variants can be bought.

Corporations will only really interest me a lot if they are themselves expanding. Static corporations who don't widen their influence as the game goes, on will be, well, just another set of station name prefixes of little interest.

I want corporations who start small and gradually increase in influence as you play, and against whom you can war without annoying the race whose sector they happen to be in. If trading with some makes others hostile that would also be good.

I think I might be hoping too much though.

I'm sure I will enjoy X3:TC, but I'm taking a lot of the hype with a pinch of salt.
Particularly the one about 'largest X universe ever'. How much larger? One more sector is larger, hows about a ball park figure?
I'm rather suspicious about the lack of a number when they've provided an aproximate one for the new ships. What could it possibly hurt? Unless once again its just a small number tacked on to an otherwise identical map.

X3 was supposed to have a load more sectors, but it had hardly any, basically just the same old map with different gate positions and a few new sectors.

Can I get myself lost in X3:TC? Will I be able to fly for hours exploring sectors that I've never seen before? We shall see.

I won't be visiting the forums for months after I buy X3:TC. I want no chance of finding things out before I discover them myself (like people posting spoilers without the tag), so if it is the case that they've exaggerated X3:TC, then at least it'll be a while before I find out. Of course if they haven't, then I get to find out without anyone else telling me first.

it really depends on the type of game and publisher.

it can be anywhere from between 1 week to 2 months

judging by previous games, i would guess it would be the lower range of that

Havnt been on for a while, but LOTS of good stuff. I talked to a few friends in europe who have preordered the game there, they got a great deal. However I cant do it because they wont ship to US, lol, anyone know when Ego will post the game for sale here? It's silly to think they will sell in europe a month before they sell here. If this has already been said, sorry, read through a lot of new stuff but didnt see anyone mention it...but the game looks great, just hoping to get a disk before Christmas, lol.

y is that silly ?

the game is from a european developer and publisher. so it stands to reason they will launch the game in europe first.

afterall, if its the other way round, we have to wait alot longer than a month. Sometimes there is upto 6months that europe have to wait for games from the US

iirc, there was a few weeks gap between the european and us versions of X3R

I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong but i'm pretty sure that X2 was on sale in the US MONTHS before it was on sale in Europe.

So that kind of thing can and does happen.

Presumably That's because they don't make nearly as many copies of the game as they do for something like say grand theft Auto or Quake IV.

it was slightly different for X2, as they waited in europe for the patch 1.2 before releasing it, wherease they released v1.0 to the US. So they ended up getting it before

It will probably be quite some time before I have a chance to play this game as I will only have my laptop (1.6GHz Core2 + 8400GS = weak) until sometime around March of 2009, and I doubt that the system requirements are any lower than X3. That said, I am extremely stoked that they are coming up with a remake/mod/expansion whatever you want to class this new game as.

I love the idea of the X games, and have always wanted more from them. I used to play this game a ton, but was always left more peeved at the game than anything.

If these main issues can be fixed, then this will quite possibly be the best game ever:

1) A complete overhaul of the UI is required (and is supposedly going to be in the new game). Make this game have the ease of use of any RTS game made in the past 5 years and you will have a winner. I have read that some of you love the challenge of using the CRAP UI of X3, but I for one do not. I use crap programs all day long and the last thing I want to do is come home to relax and be faced with the same backwards crap. Make it easy to select the ships I want. Give me pulldown menus, history of other ships, even F1-F10 to select fleets like any other RTS game. I know this is not an RTS game, but everything other than the FPS aspect of flying the ship SHOULD run like an RTS. Big overview modes, nice maps, easy to select units, easy to select enemies. This is an econ/empire building game after all.

2) I don't want my ships to explode every time i enter a sector with asteroids/stations. Is is that hard to make code to NOT have everything explode in the game? This issue is probably even more annoying than the UI issue. I don't know how many times I have lost ships FOR NO GOOD REASON because the AI ran them into an asteroid or a station. I want to build huge swarms of fighters, but I don't want to limit them to only open sectors.

3) Docking sucks I made a robot use four degrees of motion at the same time using ISA cards and x86 assembly language, and yet ships in this game can only go one direction at once? Come on, with everything else that X3 had to offer, you can surely do better.

4) Just make the game easier to get in to and figure out what is going on I know this is a complicated game, and I love that part of it, just dont make it complicated to use! At one time I found it cool to have a binder full of spreadsheets and maps just to play this game, but sometimes I just want to sit down for a half hour and play the game without spending two hours deciding what ship to buy, and what sector to fly to. Some of this could have easily been built into the game. I played EVE for quite a while after getting peeved off at this game, take some pointers from them. Market screens is the biggest thing I can think of off the top of my head.

Give us custom ship/equiptment lists, not just a single property menu that must be changed each time I try to find something in the universe.

My biggest complaints are just in how I control the game, not so much the game itself (other than the r******* collisions). Make it easier to play, but don't dumb down any of the economy, scale or open-endedness of the game. To date I have never found a game that comes close to this one on the amount of stuff avail. for selling, buying, or production (I still play Supreme Commander a lot, but even the largest RTS cannot hold a candle to this one). I love the idea of the fully open market, as well as the ability to buy real items, and use them in production to make other items or ships. Besides that, even the graphics of this game are top notch. They looked great the last time I had it 1080P on my 37" monitor.

Make the game enjoyable to play rather than a chore, and you will draw the world (including myself again) to this game.
