OK. I'm trying to change the Enterprise from the XenonM2 to the XenonTS (an unused ship). I should just be able to cut the enterprise from the TShips.txt, replace TShips.txt with the original (or, in this case, the one from MWM) then paste the enterprise text over the Xenon TS... or so I think.
I don't seem to be meeting with great success and am getting a little frustrated. I'm not entirely sure I trust the tools I'm using either
The other thing that made me think this was a new ship in the tships.txt was posted on page 1 by the creator:
Yeah, that'll happen. Rather than replace a ship in the game i created a new one so a saved game from the mod has a ship that doesn't exist. If you want to include the ship in your game you need to extract the files and put them in their corresponding folders (after extracting 01.dat - 04.dat files)
It is a new ship if you think of it in terms of a new ID number and mesh. It is not an ADDED ship because it takes the place of the Xenon M2 in the game (using it's place in the TShips file).
Yes, but the TShips.txt is contained in the mod package, not the save (correct me if I'm in error here); so running a differnt mod with an Enterprise savegame (with the enterprise simply being a modified entry for the Xenon M2) should no more break the game than running a savegame with an M2 using the mod.
When reverting back to the old mods (or none), you revert TShips.txt files and should simply create Xenon M2s out of your Enterprises (I'll try it at some point to make sure this is the case... so much that *should* work seems not to).
Cudos to Egosoft for letting us mod.. now if the could just put a little time into letting up mod more universally....
Not so .. because he used a different ID for the ship, if you revert it will cause a problem. ( I believe I am talking about the 7th entry on the line - not the text tag at the end). If he had used the same ID for the ship as the Xenon M2 .. it would probably revert just fine.
Holey smoke! That looks a damn site better than I thought it would. I'll have to see how it goes with the game. Are there any other Trekkie mods out there?
Firstly great model, best i've seen in a game yet. just a few quick questions, will there be missle launchers added to the ship a Thorn missle launcher wouldn't go admiss. Last one, have you got any other models we could use (that question goes out to any designer reading these posts aswell)
