...and with that, the last 2 steam achievements. :) Took me like 12 tries to get a DiD all the way through. I was a little nervous when I did the final bits and didn't get the popup. :) can't wait to see/buy TNBT!

Thank you ES!

I didn't notice they updated X3 to 3.1 until just a few minutes ago when I was strolling around the Steam forum. I can't believe I missed this thread (and yet I check in this forum way more often than steam forum), and I was surprised I already have 3.1 :P

Anyways, Thank you egosoft for making such an excellent game, thanks for all the support to make this game become a memorable experience :).

I wished I knew this series a lot earlier, I'm sure Lots of other companies (E* and Tr****ch for some example) could learn a thing or two from you guys for really pitching in and listening to the community and constantly providing support.

I assume "TNBT" would be the new space sim series yes? I wish you guys the best and will be looking forward to it!

The start dialog when you launch the EXE reads "Version 3.1, 2010".
Other than that, :)

My friend, (who is trying out the x-tended mod), noted on their forums it warns of the need to change cat/dat files 13 and above prior to installing the 3.1 patch.

I lost my entire universe when I upgraded to 2.7 when that was released, because all my savegames failed to function. I am playing X3TC with cat/dat files 13 and 14 being mod files I installed. Do I need to move these to 14 and 15 prior to installing the 3.1 patch?

I thank you in advance for any advice, as I really don't want to repeat my 2.7 experience and lose yet another universe, lol :)

Yes, backup the contents of your savegames folder, increment any Cats & Dats numbered 13 or higher by one, then move them out of the install folder until you've done the update, do the update, then move them back in.

So long as the Mods you have installed are compatible with the changes in 3.1, you should then be able to load your savegames without corruption or loss.

Otherwise, well that's what the backups are for.

I had the unleashed as 13, is it now merged with the update, deleted by the update or do I need to reinstall for sure?

Check the "File Modified" date, but I would expect it's been overwritten.

I would advise backing up your saves, & putting Unleashed in as 14, before the next time you load.

Don't forget to increment anything that was already 14 or higher to the next number up.

I wonder? Is perhaps Toastie a Demo Dickie fan? Or did he learn the hard way?

In either case, I love to see the new patch, even if it might be the last one.

Of course I don't believe in TNBT. I believe it's cake, but that's be side the point.

I can assure you that TNBT is quite real and arguably more delicious than cake. :)

I have the Superbox. It says my version of X3TC is version 3. When i start up the game i have the option of checking for updates. So i click on that and it tells me i don't need any.

Now i'm confused. Is the 3.1 patch needed for Superbox owners or do i have to download it and install it separately?
