That is, because those "events" are not meant as missions, but as things happening without interference of the player. Thus all information, that could be given is name, ship id and sector (like in a real newspaper).

However, if you plan to follow such an article, I suggest saving the article into the clipboard of the GNS, with that you are later able to check, if the name/ship-id is correct (in case the hunted is not hostile anyway). ;)

Just two questions, Will the sectors have names like or similar the old ones? (E.G. Argon Prime, Getsu Fune, Queen's Harbour)

And will this be compatible with PSCO1's cockpit mod?

@stemardue: Tried to hire another TL, but you can't dock at other race's shipyards when you're at rank 0. Which still seems to apply to the NPC TLs.

Just be aware that there is currently a bug with the 'mercenary wanted' station fight icon missions. The 'protect the freighters' and 'chase fleeing Pirates' sub-mission messages that should appear in-mission come in randomly and sometimes well after the whole mission has been completed and after you have been paid, by then with unknown text and sender errors. These sit in your mission list forever after and count as a mission failure if you abort them just to get rid of them.

(I am presently waiting on Moderator clearance of my TXU registration to post this and another buglet in their Tech Support forum.)

Yeah - particularly loved the black hole theory... :)

Love the music so far... though flying an M5 with 1mj shield doing missions to get better rank and more credits is proving tiresome. I was glad a pirate harrier dropped another one - gives me some breathing room. 8)

I can confirm the error in the prior post btw... had the same thing. This message kept popping up.

I did the same thing with Terran TL. Then ordered Argon Mammoth to dock at Terran shipyard. He crossed a couple of sectors and then stopped. Now I have 6 TSs waiting for their stations which will never be built.
Is there a way to make Argon TL dock at Terran shipyard?

1) Not sure what you mean by that. Of course the sectors have names. Of course they are not the same as they were before, since the sectors themselves are different.. If you mean whether we have "Getsu Funesima" or "Argon Prime 2", heck no.

2) That's entirely up to PSCO1.

is it just me or do most of the new raider, sentinal and vangaurd veriants of some ships, for example the medusa all use the same model?

if so then please modify the models slightly (swept bach wings on the medusa rader:)

No no no, I mean do they have NAMES, I saw a mod a while back with really lazy names like Gamma Draconis, Beta Draconis etc. The guy just used a few words and added shit to em. This mod looks too promising to walk said lazy path.

For instance, did you know, that the GNS tells you about loot in surrounding sectors or bailed ships?
Or that there are articles about the universe expansion and lifeforms?

These are dynamic articles, which reflect real happening in the universe ;)
About GNS - how often are the news rotated? I wouldn't like to miss some profitable info just because I don't check it every 10 minutes...

Depends... most events have different frequencies (between 1 minute and several days)... but most articles are shown for at least 15 minutes, some even longer.

However, as I said, this is like a newspaper, there is no need to follow an article, but you can, if you want.

Some are always available, if the circumstances met, like the casino or the repair-service.

[EDIT:] the static articles are new every time you open the GNS, but the dynamic ones will be available for a certain time (unless you read the article already).

[EDIT2:] in my own gameplay I try to activate the GNS once in a sector... currently I am flying a Jaguar, thus I am not very long in a sector, with a slower ship it would be possibly better to check it two times.

Indeed. There are, however, a couple of secors, for example, Heliopsaris Alpha - Delta, or Atropos II - VI, but the only intention behind this name scheme is to clarify that these particular sectors belong to one single star system while other planets are usually only one planet per star system with very different names and descriptions. :)

Ah, got you. Yes, about 90% of all sectors have proper names ;) And repetition is only used for actual systems that have several sectors (same background and same star, just different points in the system at different planets) - and even those are kept to a reasonable minimum.

Of course, every sector has a unique background text, which often has relevance to the name as well :)

Actually, having some numbered sectors makes a lot of sense, at least for me - a lot of planetary bodies are named using numbers, otherwise we would run out of names pretty soon :)
Besides, in almost every SF setting featuring space travel you have numbered planets.

Tried that one - absolute nightmare navigating the galaxy map with over 50 sectors beginning with 'C'!!

On the subject of GNS, I had a report about Pandora crates in a sector, I know they are in one of two sectors, just not where!!
Are they at specific co-ordinates as per Reunion? or totally random in the sector? Are they marked as 'hidden' - so you have to b within a certain distance for them to show up?

On another subject, Mission difficulty -I have just done five taxi missions in a row ( three at once) all marked 'Impossible' none of them took longer than 5 Mizuras to complete, and time allowed ranged from 18 to 39 Mizuras.. Not even 'Hard'.

When missions related with construction and personnel transport will become available? I Always check all available offers but there are gone or very rare, which one now ?

Also I came across many guys selling asteroid yield charts but none of them offered local maps, I cant find any cartographers.

this article is only available, if there are crates somewhere in the sector (totally random depending on fights happened there). The crates are not created by the article ;)

Interesting... in my game I have problems to match the time on very hard taxi missions sometimes... saw no impossible one so far ;)
