Yeah, for 2.0 we will block the offending MD-map-adjuster file from running (if I understood our MD-guys correctly). Since you have to re-start anyway in 2.0, no big issue. (disclaimer - it may entirely be that I've misunderstood our MD-coders and that thing is pushing it's way through hardcode which we can't touch).
Until Steam decides to 'update' something else, ofc
EDIT - yeah, we'll have a working solution (block from running before it executes) for this. For now - even if Egosoft releases their dlc for non-steam versions-, don't dl it them if you have xtc installed - we can't revert the screwups it does to our map
Maybe, maybe not. We're not planning anything towards that until we get 2.0 of this mod finished.
Moreover, we don't think Egosoft developers need to be insulted via us going 'Yeah, Rebirth will be crap so we r gonna mod it from day 1, who cares what Egosoft did to their game cos it cant be good rite?'... Basically, that line of thought is insulting to both us & Egosoft devs, presumably , as it implies lack of any regard for their vision of their game - so first we will play Rebirth, then we'll decide IF it needs modding / IF we want to mod it, and WHAT EXACTLY needs to be changed (if anything) - announcing plans to mod it / rebalance it without knowing anything about what it will be like, without any play-time in it behind our backs, is just nonsense..
So ask that question a month or two after rebirth comes out, not earlier

well i was thinking maybe after a year or 2 after release start thinking about Xtended mod.

Don't know yet. That will depend entirely on how quiet TC becomes after rebirth is released, and on how the rest of the team feel - we have been at this for about two and a half years solid just working on XTC, that's not even counting the few of us that also worked on XTM before that. Some of us may just want to take a break from modding.
Is there gonna be a Xtended mod for X rebirth in the future?
The only thing we know about rebirth are a few screens and an amateur fanvid and some interview. Way to early to think about modding this.
IF there will be an Xtended i'm pretty sure it won't have any assets found in XTM or XTC, because XR doesnt seem to have any of X3TC either. It wouldn't fit otherwise.

Im playing this mod on my steam account with no problems. Only thing is I never got the new map thing from tha summer deal and started a brand new game when I installed the mod. Everything is running fine.
O.K. Guys, you have to be kidding. I have just spent an hour doing an average patrol mission. After killing my 12th Pirate capital ship at about 5fps as EVERY SINGLE ONE of them spawns insane number of fighter and after seeing another jumping in, I turn the game off.
Why have you changed these missions. Have you even tested them? It is anything but fun. Acoording to this pirates are rulers of the universe.
Intel Core i5 4590, 2 x 8GB DDR3 1600, MSI GTX 1060 Armor, Asus H97 Pro, Asus Xonar DG, Crucial MX100 128GB SSD + 1TB WD Caviar Blue, Seasonic S12G 550W, Corsair 550D, 22'' LG
Pirates are the true rulers of the universe they just let the other races pretend to rule as their hidden shipyards churn out thousands of ships.
The problem is the large story line gap since the races all depend on mutual cooperation they cant be at war. I miss the improved races mod where military fleets made attacks on hostile races. I'd love for kill missions to state which race is coming to attack and pirates being forever neutral. The 'pirates' would just be the different races buying the neutral pirate equipment and using their own troops to fight a proxy war.
This way you could enjoy the pirate ships without worrying about your standing with them since every race uses their ships to fight their proxy wars. Kill missions would be filled with borons flying unmarked pirate split ships to attack paranid/split space. The yaki can be the dedicated pirate faction.
*even better you could have them using their own racial capitals so a boron attack would have actual boron capital ships and the borons trying to say their ship was taken over by 'rebels and pirates!'. Capital pirate ships is just silly.
You're either using cheats or third party scripts to make them bail, simple as that. Anything not bailed by XTC's bailing scripts is destroyed, to prevent missions, patrols scripts etc. hanging up/sticking on the bailed ship/running out of control and doing Very Bad Stuff (tm).
(Anything bailed by XTC's bail script is also destroyed, but cloned instantly just without all the nasty mission & script hooks on it to make it safe to claim).
At the moment it isn't, basically. You can play - it won't screw up much, but you can also wait for a wee bit until we release a hotpatch (also for the slowdown-after-some-time issue).
maxolina: To get rid of the steam patch: Copy the game folder from your Steam directory elsewhere, then install the 2.7-3.0 and 3.0-3.1 patches from the egosoft page over it.
Also has the sideeffect of removing the steam copy protection.
