Started a game without the catch-up module and same conclusions. Split start, reloaded a ton and did not get any duplicate. System seem to have a rather healthy number of stations. :wink:
I guess i'll have to act as the catch-up module.

That's not intended. There are no sectors that are supposed to have more than one equipment dock.

It only happens in Split Sectors afaik and the duplication only happens on loading saves. Did you check the Split sectors? Did you load savegames during your playtime?

So i tried a new game just now with Catch up module turned off - I presume I can turn it on further down the line when things are updated/fixed (if indeed this is the cause). I spent an hour saving and reloading sitting in a Family Zhin split sector (from Argon explorer start) - didn't see the stations duplicate. Got 5 graphene refineries in that sector but otherwise nothing unusual

So I will try a new game with VRO + FWEE excluding catchup, and see where this takes me

Im playing new game, without FE at all. Stations and ships are duplicating, in non-DLC sectors. Are you interested in my save game?

I just started new game. There are crazy amount of ships in Split sector on border with Argon sector. Getting 30 fps and stuttering there. I don't use catchup module. I also see a lot of stations that produce same stuff in every split sector.

LOL I just read the last pages about duplicated stations and because I am playing with Catchupmodule and for a very short time also with the Eco and War enhancer I was curious how my game looks and I cheated to reveal the whole map. Split got so many stations (even stations which should be unique).. they are like ants now :D. Pretty sure thats why the Xenons are so qiet - they have other problems then me now xD. But 2 Xenon factions also got extra stations...
It only happens to NEW sectors it seems.

I think I might restart without the mod. I hope you can fix this because some catchup logic is missing in the game in my opinion.

Edit:
I tried a fresh start with FE war and eco but without catchup module and the log which was generated after a couple of minutes with Seta is still several million lines.

Edit: I think the log file is related to the war module. I started a new game with only the eco module active and the log is not much bigger as normal, still it is growing a few hundreds new lines every few minutes, so still worth a check.

I wonder if this is related to the hotfix that came out after release, my game was started before that hotfix and im still not encountering the bug after 40 hours, i've revealed all map and checked every sector.

Which FE modules do you have active? Also how big is your log file?

I don't need a save, but knowing which mod is causing your issue might be of use.

Linux, using VRO and all FE mods, got the duplications after third reload of the save, started the new split start where you're part of the empire.

I started new Split game. using war module, economic AI, VRO, disable encounters, sector satellites, better kill credits, fly-by lockbox, fly-by looting.

I’m using all of the fe modules + VRO/disabled encounters, my log file is 10mb full of standard mod errors (been logging for 15 hours or so), nothing related to universe gem or the bug your all getting.

Only difference I can see here is that I used a standard game start before the hotfix and use version 4.50 of the mod.

So I guess its VRO, as only other mod which is set as needed for being able to load game

It's hard to be sure with something like this, but it seems like if your save was created with exactly one mod containing the save="1" flag in the content.xml then you are broken. (not counting the DLC)

I have sent all the info I have collected to Egosoft, so hopefully they can do something about this before too much longer. In the meantime, I will edit the post above I've been directing people to with workarounds.

my Content.xml (split dlc folder) is save = 1 VRO is save= 1 also, rest are all save = false/0 but Vro does not effect sectors if i read that thread correctly?


Full list of my mods are..

VRO (installed first)
FE all modules 4.5
No encounters
Professional crew
no battle music

Discoverer game start.

Tested this a bit on two new games with the map revealed. With the catch-up module enabled, it added in an extra station in DLC sectors every time I loaded the game - non-DLC sectors were fine. When I disabled the catch-up module, I had no difficulties.

Hi. I'm using all your modules alongside VRO (and am really enjoying them - huge thanks to both authors!) but, a few hours into a new game with 3.0 and Split Vendetta, I'm having a problem which sounds similar to the issue discussed in this thread in the main technical support forum: viewtopic.php?f=180&t=423742

I successfully completed the research missions to unlock Basic Engine Mods but I then tried the missions for Basic Chassis Mods and for Basic Weapon Mods and I can't complete either. For the Basic Weapon Mods, I did most of the mission and collected the required item from the lockbox but, when I returned to Boso Ta, when I right-clicked him the conversation wheel appeared but it had no conversation options to select at all - just the "A" in the circle in the centre. All I could do was hit escape to leave the conversation and cancel the research to abort the mission. I then tried the mission for Basic Chassis Mods and again did most of the mission, retrieved the mission item and returned it to Boso Ta. This time when I clicked him I had a "Deliver" conversation option, when I selected it, I just had a single option labelled "(Back"). Again, all I can do is to cancel the research to abort the mission. I've tried reloading saves from various points throughout the missions and nothing changes.

It seems as though something is causing problems with conversation options. The thread I linked above seems to suggest that the issue might relate to some combination of this mod and VRO. Apologies if it doesn't!

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help, e.g. if you'd like me to upload a save, or if I should post this in the VRO thread instead. For what it's worth, I haven't noticed any duplicate stations.

I have a similar issue to you Anthule,

Except I do NOT have VRO. I do have faction enhancer. I started with the chassis mod mission, picked up the nanite fabricator and took it to boso ta...no dialogue option, just an 'A'. When I attempted to cancel the mission, restarting it would not restart the chassis mission, but would instead start the expected mission for engine mods. Starting the engine mod research would do nothing.

Why it's doing this, I'm not sure, but I guess I'll be starting a new game, as I can't load an old one with faction enhancer removed. I'll just remove faction enhancer (I have a few other mods, so I'll troubleshoot those) and try a save I had before I installed it, I have a couple...then try the research missions...could be a while until I can report anything
