Is the XTC team planning on completely replacing the ship computer voice? What can be heard of the new voice right already is a welcome change to Betty (I really think the old girl needs to be retired).
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

The current... Wilma... is a hack-job, really, and getting it to sound semi-coherent was a process way too long for us to consider for anything greater than 3 words...

I started as a Terran so I'm their enemy from the get go (Enemy of Priest Xaar no less). So how can I befriend them, I know the usual go shoot pirate in their sector, but doesn't seem feasible at this point. As soon as I enter the first sector (Unholy Path or something) the whole garrison jumped on me, neither I can land any of their station, and this is a border sector. I tried to make it to the next sector, but it's a core so it's even worse. No mission offered naturally, and their sector is as clean as the Emperor's behind.

So how can I get on the Duke good term?
You can look for missions offered by Paranid outside Paranid territory, however, I doubt that this works out with your rep. Other than that you should look for pirates in Paranid space and should map as much secotrs of their space as possible to find unchartered sectors to use them as retreat.

On the other hand, the Terrans technically robbed a Paranid Sector back in R/TC. Why should they be friend or want to be friend with a Terran scum after all? (Personal opinion btw and not related to the team's opinion. ;))

With all the commotion about how difficult it is, it should be really exciting to do a DiD in the XTC universe. I imagine it would be a rather short one, though... :p

One question: are there any unknown sectors in XTC? Cause I'd love to set up shop in the middle of nowhere and strike at my enemies from the shadows! Mwahahaha!

*cough* Ehrm... Yeah...
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am :D

Tempting, and probably really short if you do fight. *g*

Yes. There will be uncharted sectors near the edges of the expansion, of course. (Uncharted sectors, actually - meaning they are not unknown, the races obviously know they are there, since they activate the jumpgates leading to them, they just can't be bothered to colonise those sectors).

And a DiD could be feasible, if you don't take too many fight missions all the time, and watch where you fly ;)

I hope this is not the only way, since the moment I enter a sector like I said the whole gang jump me both military and police force. Plus from what I see so far the only sectors see some random action is Aldrin space, race space have next to zero hostile.

I gonna have to use an M5 to map their sector ...

I have a personal suggestion : cheat yourself some rep with the Paranids and in exchange, cheat yourself some negative money.
10 millions for one "Rank" (from "Enemy of Priest Xaar" to "Enemy") sounds like a good deal.
That reminds me the "Donations missions" from XTM where you could give a boatload of cash to the "Suzie association" and get some Argon notoriety.
If brute force doesn't solve your problems, then you aren't using enough

I see. Is there any future work planned on it at all or are resources going to be directed to other content?

Oh yeah, and "silver fluffy dice?" ;)

Well, I happened to do a Patrol Mission from Holy Pathway to Atropos IV once and had, as Paranid, fly through hostile Aldrin space. It worked out quite will with some reloads and hiding in the gates. So, you should look for such missions in the border zone of Terran or Teladi space. They're rare, but anyway...

Stacy wrote:So i hear you can have factories to produce ships etc... I bought a shipyard but nothing works...

It says i need a license or something how do i get that? O_o
Ok, the question is, if you really bought the shipyard or used a cheat instead. If you used a cheat, make sure, that the only wharfs/shipyards working with the production system are of type "dock" and of race "other" (in the cheat-script-selector). (the buyable stations should be of that type)

The shipyard should be shown in the Shipyard-Menu then.

However, there is one known bug in the system, which means, you cannot build a shipyard, before you can see the "Artificial Life" - Entry (you have to save and reload once).
Should you have built the shipyard or the HQ before that, you can disable and reenable the AL-entry to get it working.

Q1: Why does the Tealdi showroom sell pirate kestrels instead of Teladi ones ?

Q2: What's the point of adding IRE to Kestrel when there is no possibility of mounting this weapons intio the ships weapon systems?

Q3: Some ships have incomplete weapon charts? Just have a look on these pics showing the armamments of Kestrel and Octopus. Both are able to use PAC but what's the second type of guns not even decribed ?

the colored dots are the weapon subtypes which the ship is able to mount but only those weapons of the subtype that the ship actually can get into it's cargo space are listed

like we said above and in the manual the weapon system was reworked

Btw I have a question about the universe exploring. Is 100% "delay between expensions" slower or faster than 50%? Slower right?

Been having fun playing this..but been relying on several auto-saves to keep my game going (I feel so cheap) I like its a bit harder, but without the repair laser, and enough missions to afford repairs, I found there's no choice, sadly. I like playing for the realistic part of the game, but even on the Argon start and with everything set to default,it's inevitable to take hull damage, and lose speed because of it.I have to be careful taking missions, some sectors aren't open to me yet since their core sectors, that limits me too. Sad to say using the saves is the only way I have been able to keep playing, until I get enough money or reputation to allow me to buy better equipment.

On a side note, for the default setting...maybe you went a little too far having corvettes hunt you down every time you go into a core sector and get thrown out...it effectively ends your game right there, since they will kill you and send you back to your last save.

You know, I have been on this planet a lot longer than most on here and I can't ever remember something with as much value as this being given away for free.

I may just throw a sicky on Christmas day and leave the family to fend for themselves whilst I play this... :)

@KRM398: I found accepting combat missions, killing a few of the enemies that spawn before they get overwhelming, then leave and come back later. The only reason I accept combat missions is to get the loot the enemies/friendlies drop whenever they blow up, so usually I even cancel the mission after I get some drops cause it's too long :).
