Will the manual get updated for the 2 new AI life options? they look interesting and i want to see what they do. Will the terrans ever receive a M0(think this was already asked and answered way back when).

I keep seeing weird weapon systems that i cant find--is there weapons listed that just arent ingame yet?

Probably not. Especially since the patch change notes already tell what they do (e.g. " Added new Salvage Insurance AL (disallows saving in hostile sectors but makes sure you can always save in friendly ones - if you can afford it). " - even if the manual did get an entry, it would say 'this AL option, when enabled, disables saving in hostile sectors, but makes sure you can always save in friendly space if you have enough money'...

Terran M0 - Check the Valhalla, Ragnarök. Those are kinda, you know, terran, and both are battlecruisers. If you mean specifically a USC battlecruiser/M2+/M0/whatever... Well, depends on if our modellers have enough time; currently they are pretty full with stuff to do that's higher on the priority list. Naturally, we'll try to get as many missing ships done as we humanly can.

Weird weapon systems - Ummmm. I honestly have no idea what exactly you mean by that. Just more weapons you haven't seen before? Don't forget that weapons are race-specific for a large part; so if you stick to one area you obviously won't see the ones belonging to another area all that much. The weapon/missile list in the manual should be valid. Or do you mean software extensions?

installed the mod on my steam account - seems to work fine.

I started as Braben (nice - funny) and in an Elite... had to go a good few sectors to find a station i could dock at.

are those sectors supposed to be empty?

Did I read somewhere that until you save and re-load the game the scripts dont kick in? So the first thing you really want/need to do is fly to a station, save, then exit and load up that, after which everything should then work?

oh yeah: PS, someone needs to activate accounts on your Xuniverse forums! ¬_¬

first time i've played a game like this since Elite on a BBC computer about 25 years ago.

played a couple of days on vanilla to figure out a bit of how to play, then skipped right to XTC...

..and XTC looks sumptuous. :D

Haha yeah between reading the release notes then actually getting the game working usually has me forgetting everything.

I thought the weapon systems were missing since i was looking at what the ships could equip rather then what was available in the encyclopedia but it turns out their all paranid since i havent had a chance to make the mad dash into their sectors as a terran.

I was thinking ahead and i really dident see a terran flaship equivalent to the other races M2+'s but after browsing around i see the planned kyoto which isent finished yet apparently. Considering you need to take the ATF ships in combat and i want to play as an all terran fleet its not realistic to say those are M2+'s for terrans. As long as they have a planned M2+ i dont care how long it takes heh.

Hello, first off I'd like to say I love every part of this mod! Im a few days into my new game and its awesome.

I do have a little suggestion, I know it may sound a bit stupid though.

I was thinking, if you could implement a "Lock settings difficulty" feature on the regular difficulties settings ( Like it is when you choose "Xtreme" difficulty ). Like I said it may sound a bit stupid. But you all know how your self control works sometimes. Its very tempting to turn up that bailing % sometimes ;)

I've found a good balance in difficulty suiting me perfectly and I'd feel a lot better know ( Yeah, just knowing it feals good ) there so no way to tinker with the settings anymore, since my self control Isn't the best at times :)

i find removing the config menus from the hotkeys is enough to stop me changing settings. lol going into the menus and selecting configuration is too much like hard work for me lol

I do see your point though! The ability to manipulate how the game plays is very intising but there's a point were it becomes cheating and takes the fun away depending on the character of the player and there self control lol
I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

Hmm, can someone please tell me how do I beam marines to an enemy ship? I can not find a hotkey. Thanks.

There should be a gallery with all of the non spoiler ship descriptions with accompanying pictures. When i first started playing i really wanted to see one of these so i figure it will help newbies get into the game.

It would also help people choose races as i spend hours ingame studying ships and would enjoy doing this out of game.

*Almost forgot--tried the blank mission text fix(unzipped it into my X3 folder creating a 'director' folder) and received 2 blank missions. So far the only blank missions i've seen have been the little light bulb ones.

Dear XTC Team,

Thanks for all the hard work! (: I hadn't played in a bit and this was just the thing to get ~immersed~ in. I particularly enjoyed the 'universe expansion,' it was quite exciting to have things changing around you, constantly opening up new opportunities as the gates are explored/unfolded.

Also, I think I noticed there are a lot more planets, and they are all much closer in, gives a much better impression of being in orbit. Oh! and all the territories arn't completely randomly placed, there's actually relative territory with 'neutral' zones in between. Over all, it feels much more realistic/immersive. So, umm, thanks!

are there any settings which effect the economy?

what i mean is my UT's are finding it hard to trade and are on standby alot.

I think i have ware consumption off.

also the universe is fairly well expanded. each race has about 15 sectors now.
I used to list PC parts here, but "the best" will suffice!

@ shea: No, just download and install 1.2a full. You will have to start a new game though. Are you sure you don't want to play a bit more vanilla first to get the game basics down pat?

I think its silly that races will allow random traders through yet they wont allow the player or his ships through. Take the terran start for instance, i can see the paranid being mad at me and not letting me dock but shooting at me is stupid. It was done proper in vanilla with the paranid just not letting you dock. Seeing as everyone has came through the same gate i dont see why any race would aggressively chase the other races out. It made sense that the terrans would shoot anyone entering SOL--hell they dont even have gates because of security.

You miss so much of the universe when you cant explore a quarter of the universe because of a hostile race and good luck trying to improve your relations. If you were just forbidden to dock at their stations you'd still be able to find ways to improve your relations if you wanted to and you'd get to see the beautiful sectors.

I want to go on a rant about ship balances also since i finally saw the paranid ships for like the first time and their all pretty goddamn awesome and a few ships are just down right horrible compared to their competition. I think its horrible design to have ships that are useless and have no purpose--a TS that has low cargo capacity should have something that the TS with the largest cargo cap doesnt. When you have a single TS having the best speed with better cargo then the other fast TS's you now have useless ships that no one will bother using.

I'd love to see a sort of 'dev blog' or some official statement on ship balancing(i.e. split guns-speed-cost-shield-cargo; teladi shield-speed-cargo-cost-guns) so i could see a general view of the universe before i go and get all mad. Reputation shouldent be a factor since day 1 and day 70 should be considered, why/will i use a ship at day 70 or will i be using a single ship because its better then all others? If i go a pure race build will it be comparable to a mix race build?

From a balance perspective i'd love to see pure race builds viable as in their ships complimenting each other and making up for weaknesses.
