Oh, are we dropping hints? The battleship's name ... was already mentioned somewhere on this thread.

Hands down. Would not even be a bad name for this ship imo. :D Dmytro has something interesting to it. :D

I can finally stop holding my breath, this beatiful ship came with two presents for me...one its, its a beatiful fuc..ing beast with a really agressive and terran/ATF mix feel into it that I would have destroyer the whole galaxy and the second and also most important one is that finally Egosoft has open wide open the doors for new and amazing Battleships into the game...ending the nonsense of "nowdays destroyers size is enough for X games") I cannot be more happy, I wish you keep making these great ships and I will happily give you all my support each time!

Congrats for designers!

It will be interesting to see how this is balanced in regards to player usage. Or how the ither factions react. I hope maybe there are some quests available to steal/acquire parts and plans, so the orher factions can build their own battleships. The xenon gonna need some help, their I's and stations will be much less of a problem with this beast running around.

Concept/detailed blockout maybe a week? One person.
Final modeling about 7 weeks. One person.

So two months went into it... well, good quality needs time. I'm kind of glad CoH was postponed, gives you more time to add even more ships to the game. :) Though it gets harder and harder to keep playing the game when I know what I'm missing.

Good work, really, keep it up!

A lot of time... I hope the people giving it it's stats (speed, turning, armament etc) will do an equally good work and this won't be for nothing...

BTW... is any time spent "upgrading" the human race from Neanderthals? I don't know if this is your section or not... just want to start some human playthrough but it's not possible if I have to look at myself like that you know...

Tham, I forgot it, Terran and Battleship = Valhalla.

Can we have some bigger racial divergence for this class of ship?

Like this Terran one seems to have a main gun and few turrets.
I say let it be the only one that has a built "around the gun design", making it good against slow/stationary targets, while the others have different roles they excel at.

Something like:
The Teladi one should have the biggest cargo in the game, something like twice the Shuyaku's capacity.
The Split one should have an excess amount of turrets, creating a heavy rain of weapons fire.
The Paranid would have extra S/M docks and a large boarding capacity.
The Argon should have a long range version of the large Ion Disruptor, stripping shields of ships and subsystems alike at a fast pace.

You get the gist.

well it is NOT ATF in design, could be kyoto , does not have the feel of an ATF ship .

I know I'm not offering anything like the proper X-Universe name for the battleship, however "Everest" does seem approprate for these Battleships.

Quite right, it does seem as manoeuvrable as mount Everest... but the lore has it that Terran ships are named after Japanese cities, while ATF after Nordick mythology...

Perhaps we should do like Intel and use a prerelease codename? After release they name "product collections" and the codename changes to "Products formerly *** Lake".

The ship is clearly Loki, until more evidence becomes available.
