[MOD] Complex Cleaner v4.09 / Modular Complexes (TC 3.2 / AP 1.1)

Hi Guys, i am posting on behalf of a very fave uncle who has recently become hopelessly besotted to gameplay around X3tc and is experiencing heavy lag on the frame rates due to massive amounts of factorys in each sector.
He noticed that (Gazz`s) complex cleaner would sort the problem out but is completely computer illiterate and so is unable to install the complex cleaner mod and as i have a very very basic computer knowledge i have been asked to install it but i have not played X3.
I was wondering if you could please post a step by step turorial type guide on how to install the complex cleaner mod for someone who has not played X3 my uncle would be very grateful because he would like to continue playing without the frustration of lag,
i realise that this is a big ask way and above the norm for these type of request`s....yet i ask as i would really like to be able to help him but would be heartbroken should i have a negative impact on his saved game that he has been working on since the New Year,

You can quite easily re enable crystal consumption before hand, it's what I had to do on all my SPP, as I was using that script first. And let's face it, by the time you really need this script (single factories and tiny complexes are bearable), 5 mil is barely anything at all. But I do agree that maybe a small warning so people know they should re enable the crystal consumption first on ones already decrystallized, and use the crunch on ones that haven't been before they run it.CaptObvious wrote:Maybe something to add to the OP Gazz:

hi Gazz, my apologies for being somewhat ambigious with my request,
i have not actually yet tried to install your "Complex Cleaner" mod, the one within your signiture,

Unpack a ZIP file and "activate" that mod as described.
No other leet skills are required.
Activating the script editor is not necessary.
The game automatically earns the *modified* badge through the installation of a mod.
(You install a mod and the game is modified. OMG so funny!)
PS: asking a programmer to write a manual is like asking for his firstborn.

[IDEA] complex replacer
As everybody knows, huge complexes tend to create quite a bit of lag. This is of course because of all the extra graphics the computer has to calculate... So my suggestion is:
When you are finished with a complex you can make a choice to gather all the stations in the complex to just one, bigger, station. This could have the looks of maybe one of the headquarter buildings, or any other huge station for that matter. When you choose to gather the stations, you can however not extend the complex any further. The big station should not be able to connect to other stations (except maybe PHQ?). Another thing, just to make it look better and easier to keep order in the stations could be to enable the player to choose which model he would use.
Does this make any sense at all? Or is it just a stupid or impossible idea?

Hi!
I'm an Italian User...
First i would thank Gazz & Co for this cool work.
I'm in truble.....i have ReadText commands and messages and nothing happens when i try to follow the procedure:
I 've installed the mod like a "fake patch"...
I loaded the game and the savegame and it is all right.
Then i went to the sector where i have my Hercules, Magnetar(with 2 tractor beams and energy cells) and a factory complex with a lot of stations.
Once there i tryed to unfix the complex and i don't remember how but i done it! ....WITH the Station menu command -----> ReadText2010-1161 command , that probably is the autodestroy command.
However when i go to the ship (Magnetar) commands menu at the bottom of the Special commands menu i have this line "ReadText-2010-534 .......[ReadText2011-534]". (near the 7- "Repair Ship" script )
In the Personal Menu i have this line "COMMAND_TYPE_CUSTOM_25 ......[ReadText2011-725]".
When i select this command i have to write one of the words in the list above. For exemple i write "crunch".....
Then i push the enter button on my keyboard .....i select a sector .....i select a position..... i hear a sound and the voice "comand executed".....and nothing happens
Can someone help me please?

Then open the file with a text editor and alter the language ID inside accordingly.

Ok i followed the procedure and all the steps on the page 16 of this topic... I have a complex and the "cube" but i notice that my Solar Powerplant XL now produces 20 energy cells every 1:30 Minutes. Okay, that's the Crystal Free SPP script's fault. Well, sorta. The cube has about 1/10 the graphics load of one small station.
That ships have issues with it surfaced much much later and unless someone with a real clue about X3 models redoes all of them, this isn't going to change.
