That's a problem that's been reported before, but I'm afraid that no-one (to my knowledge) has given a definitive answer for what is going on. It seems to be a case of 'it just doesn't work from time to time'... but that doesn't happen in software unless the software is extremely strange. This is a terribly written plotline but I can't believe it's that terrible.
Just try again.
Oh, and let me know if you're using a non-English language version of TC; that's been mooted as a possible source of problems.

@Andyrids
Did you make sure to type in the double 'e' in 'Marteen' and to write capitals, where they're needed?

My apologies, no offence intended, and I'm a fan of this plotline.Ketraar wrote:Erm... if I didn't know any better, I'd take offence in that.![]()

@Ketraar
I just recently read the X-encyclopedia (Thanks to the X-con competition as I don't own the X-box license), and found a lot of events mentioned in there are in the ANH plot. I know that the X-encyclopedia came with the X-box release which came out with X3TC-3.0, and the ANH plotline was first included with X3TC-2.6.
Out of curiosity, my question is: Did you have access to the X-encyclopedia when you wrote the ANH plotline?
Sorry, did not want to start a new thread, but since this is the best place to post any question about ANH, I just think it is appropriate to post here. Sorry for derailing the thread.

No we didn't, but a lot of the info available in the Encyclopaedia can be found in Books by Helge T. Kautz same chap who wrote the Encyclopaedia.
So yes we did try to use some elements of the X-Story that are only in books (and most of those unfortunately are German only). As usually its easier said than done, so here and there we had to "improvise" to fit possibilities that were given, rather then go strictly canon.
Hope that was clarifying.

You'll find this older thread helpful2) I chose Guiding Star and got a huuuuge, misty sector. What do other names get? I want something...earth-like.

Whoa, which code are you talking about? The numbered grid thingy is just a sudoku puzzle. If you don't know how to solve it yourself just go to Google and search for "sudoku solver."
The code in the spoiler tags is for the next part of the hacking process. It asks you to input a code made of the message you first received from the CPU ship and another code given to you by the professor.
Triple-click in between the spoiler tags. Or just highlight the entire post.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

Sudoku is definitely a housewife game. My wife likes it and playes it a lot, and I hate it. So there you have it.claygalvin wrote: oh and another little thing.... Sudoku is not a housewife game.
