I tried to autopilot the M7 I was in while fitted with a mobile mining system and also told 10 different frieghter ships to "collect rocks..." but my ships and all 10 freighters just flew around aimlessly hours on SETA. Does this only work when you are out of the system? Can someone please explain why it doesn't work if you are in the system? Also, can you have like a mammoth collect rocks that way you can fit a lot more in cargo then just sell the mammoth for insane profits?DarkVoid wrote: Steps...
1. Blast Nividium asteroid / large rocks into small rocks
2. Place satellite at the location
3. Leave the sector
4. Get a group of TS equipped with Ore Collectors and Special Command Software Mk 1 to (Jump &) 'Move to position...' of the satellite.
5. When they get there, get them to 'Collect Rocks...'
6. Always leave at least 1 TS to collect rocks at all times.
7. Except when you have to go into the sector, some say it is safer to stop the ships and then restart them with 'Collect Rocks...' when you leave the sector.

I went to Kingdom's End but I only see 4 asteroids and after scanning all 4 all I found was low quantities of ore. I see a ton of smaller rocks littered throughout the system but I can't seem to scan any of those. I have a mineral scanner equiped. I'm using my Vidar. Do I need an ore collector fitted in order to be able to find the nvidium? If so I won't be able to find it with my vidar because it can't fit XL cargo.

To target and scan the smaller asteroids press 't' while looking at them, they will then be able to be targetted and scanned. The Nividium rocks are indeed small, and only in a very specific part of the sector, and there are only 4-5 of them.SirDeity wrote:I went to Kingdom's End but I only see 4 asteroids and after scanning all 4 all I found was low quantities of ore. You don't need an Ore Collector on your own personal ship, just the ones doing the collecting.

Tried the OP technique yesterday and it works like a charm. To those having problems, you need to find the nvidium with your personal ship first. In Kingdom End, they are exactly at the coordinates he lists in the OP post. These are not asteroids you see on your sector map. They are fragments that you cannot scan as usual. To see what type of mineral a fragment is, you need to click 't' when close to a fragment, and then check the target menu on the top right side of your screen. It should tell you what type of mineral that asteroid fragment is.
The Nvidium fragments in Kingdom End need to be broken down to be collected. Hitting each nvidium chunk with one mosquito missile (like the op says) does the trick.
1.) Go to Kingdom End around 0, 0, 0 and search the fragments around there until you find the nvidum chunks. They are all together in a line. When you find them, drop a satalite right by them. Then shoot each fragment once with a mosquito missile to break it up.
2.) Leave Kingdom End.
3.) Send in TS or TL ships remotely to the satellite (use follow or travel to location command).
4.) When they are there, just tell them to collect rocks in sector Kingdom End. All you need is an ore collector and special command software. That is it.
5.) Watch the nvidium roll in. When your ships are full, simply send them to the shipyard in Kingdom End. Buy a fat dolphin TS with a huge cargo bay and transfer over the ore collector and special command software before selling the TS you just collected the nvidium in. Sell your ship with the nvidium and send your fat dolphin back to the satalite where the nvidium is, to collect more profit.
You can scale this to whatever you are able to handle. Right now I am happy with 20 TS's mining nvidium in Kingdom End. When they get near full, I transfer all their nvidium to a Mammoth (who has a tractor beam) I also have collecting nvidium with them. When his cargo hold is around 50,000 units, I buy an Orca at the Kingdom End shipyard and send it over to the mobile miners. I then just transfer over all the nvidium to the Orca and sell it at the shipyard for 110 million credits.

So if I think about it correctly, because of the player being OOS, the TS will start collecting Nividium from the broken asteroids that was recorded when leaving the sector. Thus, this means there is no AI script that removes the broken asteroids when an AI ship picks it up? (aka /killobject)
Or is it because the sector is calculated differently when the player is not in the sector?
Well its working great sofar, this is a great trick&tip
kupos.
(I hope the developers learn from this mistake, with lots of stuff they added. They overlooked on some important things

lol, it is pretty sweet. gives you elbow room to experiment with different ships and such. once you get the hang of the game though, its really unnecessary (after you understand the trading system, complex building, etc.).
by the way, if you don't have macro capability an easy way to shave off some clicking time is after buying 20/30 xl mercury tankers assign them to a wing (blue so its right there), then order wing 'navigation > follow'. select choose ship, select kingdoms end and your satellite
i ordered them to tell me when order was complete. has the added benefit of getting an alert down the road when they dock at the boron shipyard.
btw, 1,000,000,000 thx to Kryten! luv this game

If you outfit each Mercury with full engine tuning, Ore Collector, Mineral Scanner, Special Command Software and remove the 1 MJ shield when purchasing, you make a profit of just under 6 million credits per ship.
Edit
You can see what a rock is by targeting it on screen and pressing I
Edit
It's not an Asteroid, it's a bunch of rocks. They should be around co-ords 4m, 7m, 1.97kmdaimond wrote:I can't find the Nividium asteroids.

There's something majestic about watching 50 Mercury freighters all migrating across the Argon sectors to their breeding grounds in Kingdom's End.
Not doing it on my main character, but seeing giant numbers is always nice. I think I'll get a fleet of 100 Boreas M2 Destroyers and wipe out the Boron race.
Genocide! Kill the Borons!
God I hate those things...

How can I get more accuracy from the 'Move To' command without using a script?
I have the co-ords of the rocks but I can't get right to them, using the num-pad I can only get to the approximate area and then I can't fly the ship with the sector map on.
I have the Mercury ready and everything set but can't find the cowing rocks!
How is this done?
Thanks.

Throw a satalite down right next to them, and have them move to the satallite, or if you can't find satallites yet (like in my game, they dont produce any!), then tell them to move to the location of the other collector(s) if you already have one there.
Edit: sorry I misunderstood, just equip a mineral scanner on your ship, whatever it is your using, and when you are in the general area, just start scanning the asteroids around, by getting near them, target them, and then using the :I: button until you see the 4 or 5 that are Nvidium, blast em up and tell your ships to go to you, and start collecting.
