No point showing 1.1.1.6 as it just dies on an XTM M3 or something, but here are the other 3 versions I have:

tbh I'm surprised all that lot works with XTM !
Anyway, over to PM's now, cos this is definately too 'mod' related for this forum...

- gotta say it, exo.. 8)

- this latest update runs incredibly quickly..
- did you streamline the code, or something
- 'cos it runs really smooth..??

Mainly just reduced the amount of slow 2D drawing stuff + some other added fun bits.

Possibly it's time to think about expanding on this a bit,
perkint's idea of a tool for physical arrangement of complex design is good.
Trouble is you still have to go & do it in-game, so probably not incredibly useful?

Love the program!

The newest version works great!-even with XTM, but it sometimes crashes on xtm ships, also, it would help if the ships of the new races in xtm had their own colums, becase having them in the other races colum is confusing. finaly, the select ship to load box is too big for my screen, try adding a scroll bar.

apart from that, keep up the good work!

Version 1.2.0.2 hopefully is more fun to use, it's quicker + a little more eye candy than before.

The ship-select box used to fit 1024x768 - guess it must have got Xtended at some point ,

This util's code just follows the race-ID read from the game-files,
mods that add 'new' races seem to shove them in one of the main race slots for various reasons
(that I'm not sure of) even though there are actually 19 available :
argon, boron, split, paranid, teladi, xenon, khaak, pirate, goner, ufo, terracorp, yaki1, 5 'unknown', terran & yaki2.

crashes?, I'm not aware of any specific problems (except if you've got a
large no. of extra ships further than XTM - like alex2069 above had)
if you come across any crash screens maybe you could post them, or type type what they said ?

Not sure how you can make a (reasonable) solution, but it's something I (obviously) like the sound of :D

OK then, mulling it over....might have a look-see at the weekend to see what's needed....since at least two people seem to interested
(three, including me).

EDIT: 21st Oct 08

THE MODEL-VIEWER IS NOT X3:TERRAN CONFLICT COMPATIBLE
(ONLY WORKS WITH XBTF, X-TENSION, X2 & X3:REUNION)

I think there's likely to be a delay, firstly due to the newness of TC and also because of certain internal file changes.
(after a very brief look, it seems that possibly there's a further level of compression/encryption
on the basic 'linkage' game files like tships.pck/txt)

Might need to wait for doubleshadow to update his tools ?

Anyway on a personal note I'd like to enjoy playing the game a bit first before launching
fully into updating tools like this one.

btw whats CP ? duh CockPit of course :)

actually its the other way round, theres less levels. The files are now only packed with zlib with no encryption at all

I can't wait to try out the TC compatible viewer, although it may ruin some aspects of seeing the ships for the first time in game. It's kind of a super spoiler in that way.

So, I assume there is some way to get at the actual vertices and texture coordinates? If so, I'd love to know how so I could alter some ships.

Why do ships/facs look better in the model viewer than in-game? At least in my game they do.

Cheers BugMeister :),
surely you've had a go at this before now? (no 'Airplane' jokes please :P ).

'look better' is probably a matter of perception/opinion,
I would think the in-game shader rendering has a higher perceived 'quality',
but 'clarity' is another thing altogether.

Not got back to this fully yet for a TC version, some other utils are likely to
get updated/improved first - if I can make up my mind how much to put into them.

ciao

:( I´m really waiting every day for the TC version update, because it´s a very useful help in our work to make cockpits for TC. Hope you will make it soon.
