IE/IEX/XRMi does
not affect ship's exhaust effects altho' the XRMi patch does try and ensure that the XRM effects are still in place. I think it's been reported elsewhere that on higher SETA settings you sometimes see your own ship exhaust moving forwards. SETA x6 is usually the recommended max.

Yes the cat/dat files need to be numbered correctly and placed in both the main TC & AP directories, this is because the AP cat/dat files contain stuff which spoils the party!
