its really beautifull and seems to work more or less

Little questions left Playing on XRM,
- I see on most ship my exhaust dust when on seta, any idea how to solve it?
Glad you like it... :) IE/IEX/XRMi does not affect ship's exhaust effects altho' the XRMi patch does try and ensure that the XRM effects are still in place. I think it's been reported elsewhere that on higher SETA settings you sometimes see your own ship exhaust moving forwards. SETA x6 is usually the recommended max.

IE/IEX/XRMi does not affect this, you may want to post in the XRM thread if you think you are having problems.
viking42 wrote:And back to my main question:
"This needs to be done in both the main TC directory and the AP 'addon' directories." --> need all the dat/cat to be placed also in TC? i placed them all in /addon
Yes the cat/dat files need to be numbered correctly and placed in both the main TC & AP directories, this is because the AP cat/dat files contain stuff which spoils the party!

Thanks for your answer!!

i placed all the CAT/dat in /addons only so far and it seems to work fine playing AP

I didnt do any cat/dat changes in /TC so far, should i put your IEX cat/dat also in it?
I suppose i shouldnt put the cat/dat of XRM in /TC

I'll wait and see
Glad to be of service, we all like to think that this game forum is one of the more friendly and helpful ones! :) If you want to play TC with IE/IEX then you'll need to place the cat/dat files in the main TC directory also. cat/dat files in AP "/addon" directory build on and supersede most content located in the main TC folder.

Yep I think that's right, if you only play AP then you only need to place them in the AP "/addon" directory. It won't do any harm however to place them in the TC main folder also, unless of course you're desperately short of disk space! :D I tend to put them in both as a matter of habit as I need them whilst developing IEX & XRMi.

I don't know, XRM is like the waiting for a bus... you don't see a release for a month of Sundays then 3 come along together! :D
1.25c compatibility I see is going to be today's chore...

EDIT: Phew, no new map changes so all I need to do is re-issue XRMi with new intro menus reflecting the version change.

The latest XRM 1.25c compatibility patch for IEX 1.3b is here (3MB).

As there were no map changes between 1.25b -> 1.25c, the only changes are the intro menu screens.

The only combination I can think of which might work is...
  • XRM Backgrounds
    IE
    IEX
    XRM Part 1
    XRM Part 2
    XRMi
But then most of XRM Backgrounds would be superseded... You could try re-arranging the order but then you'd miss out large chunks of IE and/or IEX... not much value I think? When I have finished off XRMi I might have a quick look to see if there's anything which might be interesting to include within XRMi from 'XRM Backgrounds' (with Paul's permission). I am still currently ploughing thru' the XRM sectors giving them the IEX treatment (where required).

The latest IEX 1.3b compatibility patch covering XRM 1.25d is here (3MB).

As there were no map changes between 1.25c -> 1.25d, the only changes are to the intro menu screens and the addition of IEX content to a further 15 XRM sectors.
I have now converted approximately half of the 50+ new XRM sectors, work continues...

Hi Moonrat. Thanks for the work on this. I've only explored a small area since adding IEX/XRMi to my XRM1.25d, but it does look very pretty.

I saw your post over on Vukica's LoCo thread and was wondering if you're working on this, or if it's on a ToDo list perhaps?
I haven't tried LoCo fake patched in after the XRMi, but I assume it's not compatible out of the box?

Maybe this post should have been over there (http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=327171)

i've replied both to you and to Moonrat in LoCo thread.
I didn't see moonrats post untill now, so i must thank you for mentioning it here!

i suggest you wait for IEX version of LoCo since that version cannot be made save game compatible with existing.
or you can try and see what happens if you plan on starting a new game anyway...
