they use the same dummy I'm afraid...

...the dummy is the base that the turret is fixed to...

didn't realized Horz_Talon weren't working. The rotation should be similar to the Horz_repeater, you can copy the data from that entry. The CTD could happen due to ships using Horz_Talon turrets being in the same sector as you when you saved your game. Fly out to an empty sector first.

@mr.Who: The Corporate destroyer is done though. I'm just finishing up the Argon turrets at the moment.

Thanks and thanks to garry34 it works now. I also have found another error in my dummies, so might have been an error in my file.

There is a way to get them working in AP, figured it out yesterday after a long period of messing around. (mentioned it in XRM and PM thread)

Hey Cadius - I think that Nexus Gorg ships might be a good baseline for Paranid ships:

Hey Cad, I know you're up to your eyeballs in suggestions already, but I'd love to see more ships like the Tern. Carrier ships with lots of anti-fighter weapons.

I admit, I have a fondness for carriers. Huge, sprawling, city like ships covered in anti-fighter batteries. It gives me the chills. Something you can take a fighter and fly right into. I really like teladi designs for that. You can grab a fighter and fly through the Albatross' little deathstar trench.

I'd really love to see a carrier where you actually have to fly down its throat into a huge internal docking bay to get to the docking clamps. That might make hell for the AI pathing, but I'd give an arm and a leg to get a ship that really feels like it's a kilometer long, something with tons of little details; antennas, viewports, gravidar arrays. Things to give you a sense of scale. Maybe even add some umbilicals for M6s to dock to.

I realise this is just nonspecific description, but I thought I'd add my two cents. I absolutely love the mod, and I can't wait till the next update.

@neibros,

There's something to be said for a carrier, personally I'd love to see homeworld carriers in this, as for your desire for a 'big ship' to fly aboard rather than just dock too, may I draw your attention to grev77's USS Yorktown, and take a look at the rest of his stuff too
For it came to be that the clouds lifted and unto us a son
was born, who should burn rubber and create acrid smoke,
as the earth shuddered under the weight of engine noise
and the assembled throng gathered close to "Praise the lowered"

A bit OT, but I think that if SOPA/PIPA/ACTA gonna come in effect then:
- Longsword mk. 1 (ME)
- Longsword mk. 2 (ME2)
- Proteus (EVE Online)
- Nagoya (Nexus:TJI)

gonna need scrapping or some serious remodel.

There is also a Falchion that is from Freespace 2 - but as it's opensource I think that this one can stay how it is now (fortunately coz it looks very good in USC textures).

I've got some ideas for the Longswords and the Nagoya is due a remodelling anyway. I think expnobody made some decent Paranid ship models that could make a good candidate for a Proteus.

Btw, does SOPA actually effect people not living in the US? Living very far away from America, I only hear about it from my American friends. Otherwise I don't really take notice of American politics.

if the makers of the nexus ships for exampel were an american company they could technically bring a law suit against you with sopa (depending if your country recognises american law to that extent). also by posting content on this board that is copyrighted under sopa the makers will be within there rights to bring a suit against egosoft and have the forum shut down permanently if egosoft do not take sufficient steps to stop the content being unploaded or punish those who do upload it.

at the very least they can have the egosoft forum banned from american webspace even if they cant bring a law suit against a company based in another countries duristiction. This is why every one is so against it because they will be attacking the owners of sites because of user content rather than chasing down the individual who uploaded the content.

just an example realy lol, but a larger games company like EA for example would use it as an excuse to hurt smaller developers not under their brand by trying to have forums etc closed down because a user has uploaded 1 ship model which was copyrighted, although technically by changing the texture its not the same model it just looks identical! lol I doubt each individual model and its exact dimensions are copyrighted lol

Unfortunately, yes.

If it passes (it's being voted on soon) it will block whatever site accused of copyright infringement from the entire US, and cut it off from US based advertisers and payment networks (like paypal). Basically, all transactions from US based companies, even indirect ones like ads.

So... yeah.
Using the Normandy without Biowares explicit consent would get the entire egosoft site cut off from the U.S. and all major payment networks and advertisers.

It's causing a shitstorm over here. Wikimedia even threatened to pull ALL of their sites from U.S. based hosting if it passed.

*edit*.
Actually, it looks like those Normandy models are original look-a-likes, not just ripped from the game, so it'd be fine to keep them in.
