Glad to hear it. Its really a hugely useful script and adds a lot to immersion.Brinnie wrote:Thank you very much for the explanation, it sound like something that I will have to install.
I have downloaded it already, I will use it when my enterprise has enough funds to support a large fleet of M3s.

Well, I couldn't wait till I had the funds, I just had to try it.
It works like a dream. That man Lucike is a genius but I knew that already.
I only tried the "Start Procurement Tour", I am not sure how to use the "Equipment Packages" and I would really like to know how to get the "Optimization and Tuning" to work. It says that there aren't enough mechanics but even as it is now it is still an excellent addition to the game.
I think someone should volunteer to translate the rest of Lucike's scripts that haven't been translated to english, I don't mean just a basic translation from his website but a comprehensive explanation of how to use the script if one isn't available already.

Thanks that would be useful.
I take it the optimizing and tuning is to do with the cargo/rudder/engine upgrade?

Meh, I was going to play X3TC again but then I derped again at shite fleet management. I have installed "auto prep ships" script but it doesn't do the job (or I suck at using it) with equipping 10 ships at once.
I have bought 10 ships and tried to use the script for equipping them with shields, jumpdrives and other *useful* stuff for explorer ship, but it didn't work...
So is there any script that would let me equip/command many ships at once without having to look around for some shite special shipyards or other useless shit?

Did you try Yalamandi's Shipyard or Lucike's Equipment Manager, as suggested on the previous page?
Player Workshops is pretty good, too, but Yalamandi's is the best of the bunch.

Nope, it's in deutsch. Which means that it sucks.DrBullwinkle wrote:Did you try Yalamandi's Shipyard or Lucike's Equipment Manager, as suggested on the previous page?

Hi Dr. B
I have installed Lucike's E.M. and I am very happy with it, keeping in mind that my needs for fleet equipments are limited by my funds still, Equipment Manager is just perfect for the job that I need it to fulfill.
I am still waiting for JoelR to find the english thread so that I ll know more about the script, about its features and how to use them.
I asked a friend of mine, who is german to look at Lucike's thread but not being an X3 player he (my mate) was a bit baffled by the complexity of the script. He was however able to point out an important message posted on the page, one saying that the script is under construction still and therefore unfinished. Which only goes to show the ability of Lucike as a scripter if his script is as good as this, even though it is unfinished.
All I can say is that it was presented to me as a script that would allow me to load some fighters on Carrier/TM/TL and that it would let me equip those ships in batches in a realistic and convenient way.
That is just what the script does (Thanks JoelR).
I am sure I will try Yalamandes at a later date but I have no need for it right now.
BTW, I have bought and equipped 2 of your legendary Falcons on the Scripts maiden's voyage and I have build a wing around them, a purchase based strictly on your great opinion of them.
You are not on a Teladi's Endorsement deal are you?
@Trollinator:
Presuming that it works for TC the same way, you might wanna give it a try. The recipe goes like that:
- Dock some fighters in a TL/TM/Carrier
- Access the script from the additional Commands menu of the carrier.
- Setup a list of Equipment Docks and Station from where the ships can be equipped.
- Select the items you want bought.
- Send the carrier to procure the stuff and wait for Beep.
The script clearly does more but the above is just what I needed, at least at this moment.
I have not figured out how to buy cargo and engines upgrades but that is not really an issue as that I do when I buy the fighters (in mass).
ps. I didn't mean to butt in your conversation, I wasn't sure if the Dr. was asking me too and I thought you might find the info useful too.

Anyhow. No luck. Must have been another script of his I was thinking of. Anyhow here is a direct link:

Just use Chrome and translate it. It does a good enough job that you can figure it out. Even then you can figure it out just by messing with it in game. Just dont save the game!
Anyhow, I haven't used it much beyond what you've used it for which at my stage of the game is sufficient.
Some things I do know:
1. You can use your own EQ docks as well as NPC docks to equip.
2. Pilots level the same way that they level with EST and CAGs.
3. When they get to Auxiliary engineer level they can purchase ships.
As I learn more (my empire is really starting to pick up now) I will fill you in.

No, but if you use the FCC (Factory Complex Constructor PLUS edition) you can build stations OOS (except complex hubs and mines), that way you dont have to watch the scene.Probe1 wrote:I can't remember, is there a mod that disables the short video each time you connect two factories together? Man that eats up so much time when you're trying to build a 9x9 spaceweed complex, having to watch the same video 18 times in a row.

Complex Cleaner also allows you to Drop and Crunch when OOS; without the crazy hotkey setup of FCC and with better results.
- (Well, "better" if you don't like lag-inducing large complexes.)

FCC only requires Hotkeys for reorganizing complexes. I think Probe1's issue was with the cutscene only, not construction.DrBullwinkle wrote:Complex Cleaner also allows you to Drop and Crunch when OOS; without the crazy hotkey setup of FCC and with better results.

Looking at the page with google translate it appears that in my case the script has not installed properly, I cannot see most of the options, like the pilot screen for instance.
Also according to google t. it is the guide that is under construction and not the script, contrary to what my friend said.
I will try and post some images later to show you what I can see in my game.

Edit
----------------
This are my screenshots:
[ external image ] [ external image ]
I get to the menu in the first screenshot via the "Additional Commands Menu" of the carrier and when I select "Equipment Manager" from it I get to the second screen.
From there I cannot see how to get to the all the screen that are on lucike's site. Also I do not have a shortcut for the script in the controls menu for the game, I have looked for it in the interface/extension section.
It nevertheless does the job for me.

I like both those scripts for different reasons but ultimately I'm interested in cutting out the cutscene when connecting complexes so the first ones no good and.. well, to be honest I appreciate what Gazz did and I think it's incredible but it looks very unappealing to have giant boxes.
Although of course I did appreciate it a lot before I upgraded my computer ^_^
Oh well thanks anyway guys.

I *love* those gigantic Borg cubes! Fly around one in an M3... they are impressive.
That said, I think you could substitute any station type that you like.

Um... just swap the pointer to the model in Gazz's TFactories?joelR wrote:See what you started? Now you have to tell us how...DrBullwinkle wrote:I *love* those gigantic Borg cubes! Fly around one in an M3... they are impressive.

If you need step-by-step instructions, then I will have to work on it. But you guys should probably try it yourself, then report back (as a learning experience).

Well not HOW but what. What do you mean by pointer? Ive switched cockpits in ships, im assuming its a similar process. Just find the ID of the station and change it to that in gazz's tfactory file?DrBullwinkle wrote:Um... just swap the pointer to the model in Gazz's TFactories?joelR wrote:See what you started?
