It is not broken as it works for plenty of people in both this mod and mods that have this included.

If it is not working for you then you have installed it incorrectly or have another mod conflicting with it.

Ps. its a mod not a script :wink:

Sorry mod...I'm just new to all this so my apologies. :oops: Does anyone know of a script or a mod that conflicts with this mod to make it not work, because I have a lot of scripts/mods in my game.

Im having a bit of a problem with this mod.

Running v1.16 of this and xtra ships pack v1.75 by Cadius which i have merged, but in game Cadius' ships show up and the engine colours have changed to the ones in your mod, but no particle trails.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I just noticed that the trails do seem to show up but only as a glowing orb attached to the back of each engine

You need to set the particle trail value in TShips to the correct one for each ship. so for Cadius' Terran ships it should be set to 42.

Its the third value after hull rating. It doesn't appear in the X3 Editor so you'll have to do it in notepad.

(copy the entire line, including the "(x3)" - for some reason I can't get BBS tags to work properly in this forum. If I simply type them they don't work - perhaps it has problems with Firefox...

I'd already set them to 42, i still just got the glowing orbs.

EDIT: To clarify, this glowing orb thing happens on all ships, not just Cadius'

HI, have been using this mod for a while, really love it, pity none of the large ships have it, have fond memories of the Reaver's engine trails from XTM, once you entered a sector, you knew the big no nonsense ship was there by its huge particle trails...

However, i have spotted what i think is a problem, seems the the pirate m3+ ship, the Blastclaw prototype cannot fire its forward guns with this mod, something wrong with the scene file perhaps ? i have captured one and cant fire its forward guns, once i remove this mod, it fires fine.

@CobraMacius:: Ill take a look into that.

@dAkshEN3: Thats lens flare and is correct you have no particle trail appearing in that image. You may of missed a file for it.

@ dAkshEN3 - Are you sure you have Killerog's Particles3 file? This is the file that describes the trails. If so then the trails should work fine. I've added trails to all of Cadius' ships with no problems.



@ Killerog - I'll send you a new set of scene files soon. I've fixed trail emitters on all Paranid, Yaki, plus the Nova, Notus, Valkyrie and the X2 Scorpion. I've also persuaded Betty to say "Decomissioned" now for the shipyards.

Particles3 is there, I have no idea why it isn't working.

I've put my merged .cat and .dat on mediafire at the link below, if anyone wants to look through it and see what I've done wrong.

Hi everyone. I've tried this mod yesterday.
I'm to say this kind of trails doesn't look like result of working engine.
I mean it looks more like bubbles or cream pushed form the tube.
Not like a smoke or particles of hot plasma or whatever.
And I doubt that commonwealth ship should have very different colors.
Maybe little bit color toned white, yellow or blue... ?

Meanwhile screenshots look great. And I like that lens flare effect.

So I think I'll better stick to the way it's made in draffut's unofficial patch.

Its up to you what one you use plenty of choice for everyone which is the best thing don't want 3/4 mods that all look the same.

I will be taking a look at them again (as i said a month or 2 back) once i have done my exams and tweaking a few.

I also have more updated scene files from paulwheeler which will be in the next version most likely out on Sunday when i am back at home.

Killerog, since your website says this is the best way to contact you, here goes.

I cannot get your 4 in1 ship mod pack to work. Both download links seem to have the exact same files. I extract everything to the proper directory, I click on the mod in my start-up screen, yet when I visit the docks I see no ships available. I've tried reading over the threads on the individual ships, but none of them really talk about your package which seems to work in a different way with no readme files and no false patching to be done. I even looked through my script editor to see if I could find something to activate them, but then your mod pack doesn't contain any scripts and I didn't see anything in the list that could be used to activate those ships. I'm pretty sure I've covered all the bases and tried everything I could find. I really want to try out these ships, so any help you could give me would be appreciated.

Also, is the Normandy in that package the SR1 or SR2?

http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=252244 is another trails mod that has done some interesting things with the trails if you are looking for ideas.

And last question, are the Xenon supposed to have trails?

@grapedog :: Install crycrows cheat script and see if you can cheat them in. If you cant then you have a different tship file left over by a different mod.

@StormMagi:: Have already look at his mod, only changes seem to be how bright his trails are (mine are brighter) and just some settings in the particle file. One thing i have seen from the thread is that his cut out a lot more than mine something I tried to fix(silly engine).

As i said above i will be coming back to this mod (did promise it a while back) to redoing or tweaking some/all trails and try out a few new ideas that may or may not work with the engine.

And yes Xeon should have trails i think ( been i while snice I played X3:TC).

Hrmmm I will try reloading the mod then since at the moment no Xenon have trails in my game. Hope exams went/going well.
