It shares the Argon trails, at least with my SRM version. Meaning if you used killerog's TShips file, they might be different, but they'd be there. This is Pack B.paulwheeler wrote:Cool! How about the Solano?

hey,
did you get a chance to look into the "bloom" effect/size of the trail? i'm not seeing engine trails as much as bright circular white lights that completely obscure the ships when viewed from a distance. offputting, so i removed your mod, though the screenshots you posted look nice.
keep in mind this effect occurs when i am viewing ships straight ahead from behind and not from the side.

i think your mod is great
but i noticed some problems with it
there is a big performance impact when rotating a ship (50% less fps)
some "ball" of light is showing up just next to the engines
and constantly flickering until i stop rotating the ship
in this time FPS drop is huge from about 35fps when not rotating the ship to 16fps when rotating
my graphic card ist GF 285GTX 2GB so it shouldnt be the problem

also i have question - i made your mod as fake patch, and now when i want to remove it my saves dont load (CTD when loading them) any help?

i've checked this on ships:
hyperion vanguard - problem exists
kestrel - problem exists
fenrir - problem not exists or is less noticeable
i also managed to remove the mod installed as fake patch
here's the procedure:
1. install the mod
2. go to some unknown sector that has no ships, stations, no trade routes (no ships at all in whole sector)
3. exit the ship
4. save game (salvage insurance)
5. exit the game
6. delete the mod
7. enter the game and load this save
it worked for me on sector Unknown sector right to Zyarth Dominion

After about an hour of going through every ship merging this mod's TShips with that of the Cockpit mod and wrestling with crashy software trying to merge the .cats, I got it working and it's great. Engines look purty and a lot more engine-y than the vanilla ones. I just think the particles could use a longer lifetime, so the trails are longer. And bombers, at least the Peregrine, don't seem to leave a particle trail at all or have an engine glow sprite. But the thruster flame mesh is the right colour.
