:-o :-o :-o
I am in awe...

 ...and have the Trailer in repeat for half an hour now... WOW - Borons - finally!!!

:-D Whoever did the organic modelling and texturing should get a medal a raise and a certificate... must have been a pain in the butt to troubleshoot and optimize this sort of geometry.

:-? Hope my machine will be able to handle it!

Can't wait for the DLC and Patch 6.0, sounds great.
If I didn't dive back into my game it will be the good moment.

I am hyped as **** for 6.0.

The Boron art style is excellent. I only just bought Avarice but I'll probably get this DLC at launch.

Noticed it as well, the gate doesn't look like a classic X gate. Curious what's up with that.

Trailer looks wonderful, Boron stations & ships look great & the glimpse into the new sectors are neat too. Kingdom's End is recognizable, but very curious about that glowing gas giant / brown dwarf sector. The floating mechsuits for the Boron are neat as well.
Seems the Boron even get their own fabrication/shipyard bays, which really is a great thing (think you can glimpse inside a S/M fabrication/repairbay halfway through the trailer)

The ships and stations definitely look good. I was kind of hoping that they would start an open beta with the announcement today. However, from the 2023 release date it look like its still quite a ways off.

Wow, really like that Shark carrier! Am I right to assume that its launch tubes can be used to dock fighters???

This looks absolutely amazing! :D I love the new rendition of Kingdom End, and I can’t wait to hear what Alexei Zakharov has made for this DLC. :)

I’m very interested in exploring all these peculiar areas, and seeing what that weird “Jumpgate Interface” is. Perhaps it uses reverse-engineered Xenon tech to realign a gate? (Such as the one in Heretics End? The description makes it seem like its reactivation isn’t normal.) Perhaps my joke about Mahi Ma coming back might not be so unrealistic. :gruebel: Whatever it is, it’s definitely a new resource sink. Oh, and it’ll be interesting too. :D

I absolutely love the Boron ships. They have the perfect mix of uniqueness and modularity. In other words, they look “organic” while still retaining the “X4 ship look”. :) Normally I stick to Terran ships (because of aesthetic, and power.) but I can definitely see myself using them, not just for personal use, but also empire-wide use as well. :D

The station modules look awesome, and I’m very interested in seeing what they can do. My favorite so far is the docking module (most likely a S/M Fabricator/Equipment Dock) shown. It brings back that feeling of entering a Boron station in X:BtF and X:T for the first time: the awe you get as you look around seeing the entire station filled with water, and what looks like to be plankton of sorts, it’s the perfect harmony of life and metal. I do hope the Boron get their own unique economy method, they clearly build differently, so why shouldn’t they build differently?

I am glad to see the Boron wearing their floaty watery space suits. I’ve always wanted to see them “in person”. I do hope that Ego can sneak in a little “aquarium room” somewhere, that way we can see them in their “natural habitat”. I suspect that X4:ToA was a test for “walking to spacesuit” and vice versa transitions so it could be possible. But unfortunately I don’t think NPC functionality would be possible. :(

Speaking of ToA testing: I noticed that there were lots of new “story tools” for Ego to use. I think that with X4:KE the new plots will be quite immersive and very interesting. :)

I’m absolutely positive (please dock as soon as you get green position lights :P ) that KE will be the best X4 DLC out of them all. :D Especially if it has the new sectors of SV, the ships and plot interest of CoH, as well as the uniqueness and creativity of ToA. :) Either way, it’s definitely added to my wishlist, and hopefully soon, my collection. :D

I hope you guys have fun making this one. (though it looks like you already are.) And have a merry X-mas. :D

Borons you say? Borons?
I thought they weren't real? Just a random legend that someone made up

But in all honesty I'm really glad to see buggers back again, and can't wait for their quirkiness in X universe...one Boron in the game simply isn't enough.
Also I'm hoping for some nice QOL changes to the game too and MAYBE a bit of ship/weapon/equipment stat tweaking so that each race and faction has distinctive differences.

I wish happy Christmas and New year to all X denizents and to Egosoft devs.

The important question is - will Borons still use vanilla construction ship?

Extremely good looking! Breathtakingly so. And the music! Kingdom End - I'm coming home.

There seem to be much to look forward to. Very curious on what performance improvements that can be expected.

But "will be released in 2023"?? That's not good enough. We need this now.

That music! <3

Not sure how I feel about the stations, might be the lighting but they look a bit like a mess with no defining features (clump of seaweed? ). The ship models look great, but the texturing also seems a little unfinished/samey with the same blue glow everywhere.

Worst decision (though probably easier to animate?) was giving the Boron suits only two arms?? And on the side of their head? I hope this is still WIP and can be brought in line with the concept art/timeline images for the final release.

Absolutely thrilled. As much as I've enjoyed this game, which amounts to many, many hours, there very obviously has been a missing piece of the game's spirit. The Boron expansion closes the gap and completes a new circle! I can't WAIT to play through this plotline and check out the new ships.

Oh!!! that Kingdom End music.!!!
I have the impression that the architectural structure and the sophistication of the stations blend perfectly with the music.
