I think my biggest love, after 700 hundred hours running the game, some in SETA, 3 different starts, is how GOOD they finally made the user interface. I can never go back to any previous X game because of how intuitive, clean and accessible no matter you play in 4K (which I do) or in 1080P the X4 GUI is. I tried to play X3 some time ago... and nope, can't do it. X4 spoiled me forever.

Hey, everybody's got their own preference so at least someone is enjoying the UI.

I had to comment on the 4K. I set a machine up, basically just to play this. Been a Mac guy for years so I built an I5 with NVidia 2080. I figured I'd use the 65" 4K TV as a stop-gap till I could afford a good sized monitor. LOL, well... that's not going to happen. Once you setup a TV tray and office chair and fly with a 65" monitor going back to some 26 or 28" screen is not going to cut it. To my wife's MAJOR displeasure, I think the PC is going to stay right where it is. There is one sector where when you point down to -Y you are pointing right down to a planet in low orbit. It's astonishing, I just had to stop and gawk at that view. The TV filled so much of my view that cloud movement was starting to make get that false-movement sensation. Just awesome visuals in here.

Well, don't really need to make fun of me, I know I know you joke... don't you? I don't know if you played the X games before, but seeing how much you like to play on 65" with a controller, I assume, you probably didn't notice how awful the user interface was in previous X games? I mean look at this:

This picture was taken on already pretty small resolution, it's most likle 720p. At 1080p it already looked tiny. I don't even mention playing on 65" from the chair 6 feet away from the screen. They improved general UI somewha, but try to play XR and previous X games today on PC at 1080P or even 2K... then try the same on your 65" TV on the chair...
The interface in previous X games was a complete garbage. That's why I am so genuinely happy with X4 changes regarding the UI, among other things.

This is what X3TC feels like in 4K, font size wise.



And finally, in X4, thanks to the UI appropriate scaling you can customize to your desire, we get text that doesn't try to trash your eyes, no matter you play 1080P or 4K.

Lots of Love from Thufar too, I must join the bandwagon on the praises of X4.

There's so much to love, and so much yet to see... the other day I had landed my Nemesis and was walking off my landing pad. A NPC running in front of me stopped, knelt down, opened an access panel in the floor, messed around in it, closed the panel, stood up and ran off. I just sat for a minute

Yup those are nice touches that make the world feel alive. I wish there were more things like that. Space ports/ space stations supposed to be buzzing with life. When it doesn't happen, you feel less immersed. But go find another game like X4... Doesn't exist. So we appreciate what little we have .

I do joke! Sorry, not meant to be mean, it's just the UI is still wildly unpopular.

The UI is limited in its function and extremely poorly laid out for doing certain things. On the flip side it's extremely well laid out for doing other things. I'm not the biggest fan of the UI itself and I think it needs to be completely overhauled, however I am LOVING the new map and how it functions. It's SO much better than previous X games The 4K resolution is nice too, my eyes hurt in X3 with the tiny letters and words I could hardly see anything and I was straining my eyes, the text is so much bigger and clearer now, very happy.
