Probably worth a shot.Sovereign01 wrote: ↑Wed, 6. Mar 19, 19:30I've noticed it's now been reduced by 25%, like before it'll only be this way for a couple more days.pref wrote: ↑Sun, 10. Feb 19, 02:19 I ask because I've spent a lot of time playing TC/AP. Didn't really take to rebirth- is X4 more like the latter or the former?
Imo it will catch up to X3 soon, once more content is released and it got some more polishment/bugfixes.
It also has a real nice station build/design interface if you're into that kind of thing.
Ship models lack variety and generally bigger ships look worse imo then in X3. Less AIscripts/commands compared to TC/AP, and still quite a few bugs ofc.
I assume you'd buy it sooner or later, question is how much later - 10% discount might be worth it if you aren't planning on holding back the purchase by half a year or so.
Though i had to stop playing after 2.0, game has some weird stability/sound issues plus some changes happened i really don't like. One of these are max trade range being reduced to 5 sectors, which means lots of trade runs have to be managed by hand, or you have to build lots of smaller stations scattered across other races space.
And a couple annoying bugs are not fixed since 1.0 which make at least larger scale combat pretty frustrating (but they hurt elsewhere as well).
Think 2.0 was a huge leap and the changes it brought would need well polished basics - i'd suggest checking on it at next dlc or 2.5.
Since there might be no discount until then it still might make sense to buy it (if the discount is still on), but save your gaming time for later when the game is better.
