Forgot to mention I also added the Bounce mod. Really saved the day, otherwise most of the battles would have happened like the fiasco of the first mission described there or like the tragedy of the first squadron. Unfortunately with Bounce on Bingo can't go ramming ships anymore and actually has to do it the old fashioned way like a gunman...
I forgot about the additional mods. You'll probably want to turn down the bailing probabilities for the lighter ships. I find that 4 works in vanilla, but for the additional numbers of IR, you might turn it down to 2.

@stealthhammer - will add your char in the next update, but don't expect a high survivability, so far I've been loosing fighters left and right. True, Bingo has yet to get killed even once but it does seem the best shielded fighters go down first....

Sorry for not updating, I ran into a few problems, such as not making any progress at all because:
a) missions that pay are EXTREMELY rare, like one every 10 sectors, I've just wasted HOURS looking for the odd mission.
b) loosing fighters costs money, especially in XRM where even an M4 is 2 mill+ to equip. I lost a LOT of fighters so that means I went back to square 1 for a few times.
c) enemies are becoming increasingly dangerous, like either 2 escort bombers or as of 30 mins ago, M7Ms. Killing that in a vidar with just 2 turrets without getting killed is a nuisance. However reading NUKLEAR-SLUG's DIDs did teach me a few tricks here and there.....
@stealthhammer -no worries, Sean "Hammer" will join the DID soon enough, just need to make some progress, and get to a stage where I'm not on the brink of death every mission, it's too frustrating.
@Ormac -bounty boost just doesn't seem to work properly. Oh well, not much of a difference anyway.
Hope to have it done by the end of Monday, because I won't be able to post for a couple of weeks afterwards.
As for XRM with IR 2.0...you can goo really crazy and wars all over...just dont do invasions/sector takeovers unless you really want the game dynamics to change.

As for Bailing add-on settings:
-3,2,1 (chance to bail: sm/med/lg)
-12,9,6 (Hull requirement)
....those work out well for me personally.
Im curious as to how you are using M3B with CODEA?
-(never been able to get those working quite right).
