Good idea. Especially that it wouldnt use that much rescources than expanding the game(like a bigger angle of view). Means: Information about sector, stations, property aso dont need to be rendered and because of that shouldnt use much rescources. And it could be Cpu-based what would benefit from multicore and shouldn´t result in a significant fps-drop.CharlieChop wrote:i don't know about you guys, but Ive always wanted to be able to play a game in multiple screens like this:
Main screen: normal game, flight, npc contact
Secondary screen: real-time asset information, Sector map etc.
any ideas as to how multiscreen would be great for this game?

If I may deviate slightly off the "X info on this screen, y on that" support:
I'm running on nVidia's eyefinity equivalent, and while I'm enjoying the peripheral effects, my HUD currently looks like this:
(linked so as not to stretch the bb)

Now for me, the point of a HUD is that you don't have to turn your head to see vital information. If I'm reading the weapons status, or trying to look at the map, the centre screen is actually significantly outside my primary vision.
So my question about multi-monitor support is probably something that would be easier to program: Will there be support for modding the HUD element positions? I've looked around the modding for the X3 series, and while people have adjusted the graphics, there seems to be no provision to actually move things around, and in my case further into view.

Well... I can imagine if you using windowed mode then you can drag&drop any interface (map, properties menu ...) to secondary monitor. I don't think that is complicated. Every one of us can do it under the operation system we use with different apps.NeverSnake wrote:Given that the series had multi-monitor support and it got removed I wouldn't get your hopes too high of it being added back in, especially with all the talk of the game being 'more complex, less complicated'.
X to X3 is MENU SUPERIOR!
