Nope, Nopileos is female. There was only one place where male lived: Ianamus Zura and that was disconnected from the gate network in BTF

Huh. I've only read the encyclopedia, which refers to a Isemados Sibasomos Nopileos IV - a Teladi male - becoming friends with an Argon Siobhan Inja Norman (who due to a genetic mutation has the lifespan of several thousand years).

So he's in the Sol system (I know it says "Solar System," but due to the context I'm assuming it's talking about Earth's), and it sort of sounds like they're writing him into some kind of role for Rebirth.

There was only one place where male lived: Ianamus Zura and that was disconnected from the gate network in BTF .

True, but I thought by X2 the Ianamus Zura sector had been reconnected. So by the end of the Terran Conflict the Teladi would have had enough time to "diffuse" males back into the general population, they'd just be extremely outnumbered by females.

Nopileos appeared at the beginning of the last Xenon War. At that time all Teladi - even though they all are female - are refered to as he/him. Don't know if Helge wanted to show us a patriarchic streak through the races of the commonwealth or if it is just his way to blow a raspberry at us.

It could be a character / race we have never met before, mabye the protagonist at the start of the game ends up finding/ ruscuing her and from there the mainplot starts. mabye an ancient?

Julian and Mira went on siteseeing tour and the throttle stuck for some
reason. After a few hours (for them) at near lightspeed 700 years have
past in the rest of the universe.

Seriously though, there's no reason to suppose they are related to any existing
characters but I'm still hoping it'l be a human not ships Atavar.

Do we know how much time passed between the end of TC and Rebirth?

If it's longer than the average human lifespan in the X-Universe (the encyclopedia lists it as 110 years) then a lot of the cast from previous games is out of luck; most major characters in the series have been human. Bernd states that some old races are gone, so that will invariable cut out some of the non-human cast.

Hokiturmix's "great, great, great grand relative" seems likely.

Although it's worth noting that when Egosoft first described the player ship as one significant in [X-Universe] history, a lot of people assumed that it was the Xperimental Shuttle.

Why does Time Travel need to be ruled out.
If time travel is possible, no one ever ceases to be as they always exist in their own part of the timestream.
It could be any character transplanted from the past or future.
