Commonwealth News Agency Exculsive Report!
Hi there listeners, this is Deepa Fisty from CNA with a once in a lifetime exclusive!
Recent fears of the growing attacks by the Xenon throughout CW space, and more recently in the newly discovered Aldrin region have sparked calls for a greater understanding of these seemingly unstoppable machines. Although valiant efforts have been made to capture their key ships in the name of research...the behemoth of their fleet, the K, has yet to be taken, hopefully until today.
Here I am, on the bridge of a ship whose captain has promised to deliver this unspeakable agent of death to the scientists of the CW.
Although this mission will happening deep inside Xenon controlled space, the captain asures me our safety is paramount and he has mechanisms put in place for our extraction should the Xenon force overwhelm us.
I will be bringing you images taken from the ships bridge view recording system of the whole operation as it unfolds, and blow by blow reports of the techniques our courageous captain will be utilising to achieve this supposedly impossible goal.
Our captain informs me we will not be alone on this mission, we are leading this venture in a Boron made Kraken, a devastating yet beautiful missile frigate, and also joining us will be a Split designed Cobra and two, yes two! Paranid Hyperion Vanguards, just hearing that name makes me feel safer already, docked to these two corvettes are two Teladi constructed Falcon Sentinels and two Argon Nova Raiders, this really is a celebration of cross commonwealth design and collaboration.
Now we are ready for action, and prepare to jump into Xenon 472, we are immediately greeted by three Qs and multiple fighters, and in the distance, our target, the K, accompanied by another Q. The captains first task is to destroy the three Qs that have already started turning to face us:
Multiple Hammer Missiles are launched to defeat Qs
One Q is destroyed
And so is another one
And the last one
With the nearest danger eliminated, the captain orders the rest of the boarding party to jump into sector, ensuring the Cobra is close by he orders the two hyperion vanguards to protect each of the missile frigates as there is still a Xenon fighter presence laying down light fire upon us.
The captain then orders the first barrage of Hammer missiles directed at the target, the mission is not to destroy, but to near enough disable the targets shields, so 24 are fired by the captain, along with what is described to me as a 'Flail Tunnel', this is a technique of firing the multi-warhead but less potent Flail missile to create a distraction for the enemies automated turret defences, allowing the more powerful Hammers to get through.
The Hammers make their way accompanied by the 'Flail Tunnel'
One of the Hyperion Vanguards swoops past to intercept a Xenon fighter
The Ks shields are taken down to 3% by this first salvo, there is no time to waste, the marines must go, 19 are jettisoned from the Kraken, and a further 4 from the Cobra.
The brave marines are escorted by more flails
The first 19 marines hit the hull and in what seems like seconds they are through and engaging in combat. On the first deck alone 2 of these brave veterans are dead, their is no time to mourn, the next four have been cutting through and join their comrades on deck 2 to bring their number back up to 21. On the next deck, another brave soul losses his life for the good of the CW. They all manage to survive the third deck, but yet another dies on deck 4 to bring their numbers down to 19 again. Finally on the final push, deck 5, two more distinguished souls perish to the faceless threat. The last 17 must put their fears and regrets aside as they skilfully hack the core and finally, the scourge of the galaxy is brought into the control of our victorious captain. The K is his!
