Paranid ships tend to look quite good and be quite useful, think they are probably the best compromise. Boron ships are the prettiest though. I like the smaller Split ships and the largest but the M7s don't really do it for me - not sure why but the Split shipyards fell down on that one. Where is the elegant dagger shape?! The Panther gave me a horrible surprise when I decided to look at mine from the outside.

I quite like the look of some of the Yaki ships as well but they tend to be turning into balls of hot gas when I get close enogh to see them. Might need to go and have a closer look, see if my first impressions were right.

One of the ugliest (to invert the thread) has to be the Sabre. Who decided that what an M4 needed was a great big long tube stuck out the front! Actually most of the Pirate ships are prettyy ugly as well. Apart from the Nova with the paint job.

I agree that PSGs were fairly overpowered (lol at my M3 Perseus single handedly wiping out sectors, including capital ships and stations), but what makes the Paranid fighers stand out now?

Not a fan of the Boreas, even though I fly one. (At least when I'm in the cockpit I don't have to look at it!). I'm not quite as keen on the X3 Rays as I was on the X2 ones- purely because they don't have the rotating tails. Terran ships up to the M7 look like shuttlecraft from Star Trek- not in the least bit intimidating, despite being hard as nails. Argon capships are pretty, but they all look much the same to me.

The Boron have the most attractive TM/TS/TPs purely because of the green organic bits, and I love the look of the Angel. I think the Paranid have the best looking corvette and frigates in the Hyperion, Deimos and Ares, and I think I prefer the Terran capital ships to the others.

Well I have got to go with vbruzual and say yer that Agamemnon just looks so cool.
Just captured one so once I get it kitted out I'm going to take her for a test run to see how she handles.
Anyways will get me out of my Hyperion for a bit

For bad ugly My vote would most definately go to the Springblossom
That is one bad arse ugly mother if I ever seen one but for my EQ dock it makes for a hell of a good weapons dealer.

Urgh I think that honour is from the Pirate Advanced Eclipse IMO, first time I saw it I made a very werid "amazed" face and then I broke off on laughter.

It's fun how some people say I hate "X" and love "Y" and the next one says the other way around. Tastes ^^.

As for the "Best looking fleets" overall (the full spectrum of ships, not looking specific cases) are the Argon and the ATF, USC is ok but it gets repetitive from M5 to M6 as they look very similar and very "sport/race shuttle".

I'm not a fan of the Boreas myself either, I think it looks like a.. well you know what it looks like. I like all the glowy and shiny things it haves though, like the Oziras. OTAS haves some nice looking ships; Aquilo and Sirokos, but Mistral and Boreas are not in my "eye-candy" list.

Heh that is exactly what I love about those ships :D The cap ships ( not armd with flaks ) Also make for some nice close combat.

I don't like the X3's boron ships for reason, despite the curve they're too "smooth", which translate into "plain" in my eyes. I miss all the animated tail in X2.

Don't like Argon ships either because like someone already said all of the ships look to much like one another.

The worst looking ships in my vote go to the split, totally hate them. If the Teladi ships look like mobile oil refinery, Split's ships look like some back water mining colony ship to me.

Before TC, Paranid had my vote for best looking ship, the design IMO doesn't reflect the race pretty well, but in itself they're really elegant designs (except the M3 which looks like a big fat goldfish).

With TC though, the clear winner go to ATF's ship obviously. The major reason is they carry this WW2's battleship shapes that I think truly badass. About the boreas ... don't like it and not planing to get one either. honestly it's the ship that I consider the ugliest out of all the Xtended ship back then.

A few nice ships that nobody's mentioned (specifically) yet:

ATF Odin: The first we see of the terran capital ships in the x-series and a very nice looking one.

OTAS Skiron: Doesn't share the 'collided with a crystal fab' look of the Boreas and Mistral but instead looks like it should go really fast.

Boron Heavy Hydra: This ship probably should have been called the 'Jellyfish'.

Teladi Heavy Osprey: A mass of dense scaffolding with some propellers and oversized antennae thrown in for good measure. Bring your own ramming speed sticker.

Pirate Carrack: A Cross between a Dune Sandworm and a Torpedo.

Pirate Brigantine/Galleon: Probably the most serious looking capships in the game.

My favorite is the Heavy Centaur, and I think the Boron Kraken and Skate look good as well.

This might seem pretty weird, but I also like the deca ships.

We have more topics arise from the dead on this forum than both True Blood and Vampire Diaries have vampires rising.

Why? Are they bad? If so, I had better not give any to my pet Argnu ;)

Currently scraped all my savings and bought myself a Teladi Heavy Osprey. Damn! It's a big, menacing, flying scrapyard! But, damn, I like it!

I couldn't agree more though its a bit boring in "Cockpit" veiw :(
also really like Split ships especially the Tiger, Python and Heavy Dragon.
The Python has the best "Cockpit" veiw of the lot and even though it's not well shielded or that well armed i fly one all the time.

My Boreas and Osaka are like flying death but look really, really like a smaked arse :D
