nitromethane wrote:how much more story line is there after you leave the earth sectors? ive cleaned out 4 xenon sectors...nice mod so far great models and my system only hangs now in loaded kahk sectors with gamma ppc and laser tower wepons going full blast but not so bad that i cant fight so it must have bean a script im thinking bse
Basically, the storyline is intended to set the "stage" for Transcend. At some point, the mod adopts the freeflow nature of X3 - within the context of the mod. The player is encouraged to re-establish inter-species trading, which has been disrupted by rampant enemy sector takeover.

There are additional sectors which need liberating besides those you've already tackled. There are also some "special" ship retrieval missions.
Other than that, this of course remains X3 - with a twist. :)

good work busy man !! really, it takes so much time to release a mod as single man effort...

I liked the previous version a lot, so this one must be even better!

please fell free to add some of my backgrounds to your mod if you wish...

p.s. just out of curiosity, I see you're not using your custom shaders in the mod ... why?

It is really great to come back from vacations and notice such a great release!

Well done Observe! Storyline built with Mission director is a great achievement. Long life to Transcend! :)

Thanks Realspace! To be honest, I couldn't have done it without lots of help from the Transcend team. :)
Realspace wrote:please fell free to add some of my backgrounds to your mod if you wish...
Thanks again. Actually, I would have used your backgrounds, but simply ran out of time to make "one more" change/addition. Also, I noticed NH mod has used your excellent backgrounds, and I didn't want to "steal their thunder" in this respect.

Ah yes, custom shaders. For the record, many moons ago, I was near completion of "one shader to rule them all"; but as you pointed out, this stuff takes enormous time and effort, and there is a limit to how thin I can spread my time. Also for the record, work on shaders has not ceased, but for now I mostly lend support to select others who are working in this area, and who have demonstrated the necessary programming knowledge and community spirit.

Excellent looking mod, shades of XFP4 meets XTM (& NH - well done Phlt as well)

Realspace wrote:I see you're not using your custom shaders in the mod ...
I see NH uses Observe.fx & there's a crossover between Transend & NH ships, so no Transend ships use this shader?

Can I ask you a question about your custom shader - to do with use of
the Specular parameters - should I PM you?

P.S. Phlt : I haven't forgotten the video, I still working on it - about 2/3 the way thru, take longer than I thought

Gees this mod is hot!

I'm making some missions ( possibly writen by Stu? ) that are outstanding! Very nice work mates... If there's any thing like "best mods", this one is on the top!

And Realspace is right: it's quite an achevement for a one man mod! I'm gonna play it forever!

@Observe
You might want to consider to include this one in the Community Script & Mod Download Library for X3

Just a thought.

[STATUS] Transcend I mod version 3.01 is currently being prepared. This will be a minor bug-fix release.

[NEWS] In addition, Transcend II is under development. This mod will be the second in the Transcend series. It contains an entirely new galaxy consisting of approximately 200 never-before-seen sectors. We are currently seeking beta testers for Transcend II.

Does transcend II follow I in terms of plot?
If so, i might have to get it just to see where this is going...

Yes. Transcend II starts with the fleet having triumphantly succeeded in the Transcend I campaign.

Basic concept is: On the way back to Terra, the fleet encounters a wormhole, which sucks them into another galaxy. The fleet is damaged and separated. Most of the ship personnel have taken refuge on various planets. Part of the mission is to recover and repair the fleet. Navigating through and learning how to live and thrive in this unknown galaxy presents a whole new playground of challenges and opportunities. :)

Oh dear, 200 - guess I really need to speed up building that new computer. I guess one can delete the old X3-verse? EDIT: I mean, 200 new ones plus the old 90 are gonna slay any computer

Going to play this when I get some time - summer is not very a intensive gaming time for me, although I spend some hours here and there (one is addicted you know :D)

With 200 sectors, Transcend II only has about 40 more than vanilla X3 - so it really doesn't have much if any impact on your computer. Transcend II uses an entirely new map with completely different layout, so the standard X3 map is not involved at all.
