well, what you need to do, is export your ships from 3dmax to X3 format
and you will end up with a set of bod files, one of them will be the scene for the ship.
once you have that, you can then create the ship in the ship creator.
althou in 1.80 u'll have to load some ship data first, but in 1.81 you wont need to do that, and you jsut add the model files and scene file that was exported from 3dsmax and use the configure ship option to set everything up

when u downloaded the batedora, was it listed on the site, or did u jsut find it in the irectory ?
coz it was on the server but not listed for awhile, but that version didn't work, as i was still working on it.
but anyways, u could simply download it again and install it, its posible it was missing a body file or something, or didn't install correctly.

Well, your function in ship modifying programs is really making me happy, but I want to ask something about it...
I see a function of 'Add Gun', and using it right now...
Say, installed modified X-Wing [M3], currently has 4 main weapons, changed it [by adding] to 12 main weapons, save the ship, and put into X3 by original, and play. After I get into game, 'cheat' the ship for test, and what I found is a n X-Wing but cannot fire [all weapon is activated and already equipped with Alpha IREs, but cannot fire], all other function is in correct order [equipped with Shadower Missile Device for missiles attack, it works].
This one is different, get Alien Sulaco [M2], modifies it to the max and use function 'Add Gun' to its turret. Placing 8 main weapons, 4 new turret guns on upside and 4 new turret weapons for downside. Save the ships, and installed into X3. Play the game, 'cheat' the ship for test, and everything is in working order, except 4 new turret weapons on downside [same problem with X-Wing above, equipped with Alpha IRE but cannot fire].
All those ships' weapons, which cannot fire, is not highlighted for some reason, which tells me weapon cannot fire...
The question is, WHY ?
Does each ship has weapon functionality that is limited [such as fighters is limited to 8 weapons, and capital ships is limited to 48 weapons] ?
However though, last edited X-Wing changed to M3 [from original M4], using 8 weapons, and they are working correctly [has 8 'real' weapon slots, and all of them can fire]...

Procedure used to install the ship - Installed the xteneded mod fully updated. Then installed the ship manager. Tried to install xsp's from your site. Installed them by going trough the ship creator and clicking install then selecting the xsp.
The only ship that i can find when using lvs scripts to spawn installed ships for testing is the EA atmospheric shuttle- this works no problem and looks great in game.
I've fired up the X3 editor and found there is an error aparently. I've noticed all the model components are there in the editor, but in the Tships file an unexpected end of document error any idea how I would go about fixing this?
I think the cetus was first i installed them in alphabetical order.
try removing all the ships, and install them one at a time and check for errors in the editor, that will at least identify which ship is causing the problem
you have to close the program after each install so it creates TShips
Hi Cycrow, I've been using your ship creator and installer for the past week and really appreciate your efforts - just a few questions.
I have installed a number of your BSG ships which all work fine but there seems to be a clash with Hawkbs' Colonial One XSP. (Hawbs' raptor and Viper Mk7 work great). The other ships like the cylon raiders, vipers and galactica dont appear and I am left only with the Colonial One and blank list of ships worth a approx 5000 credits each.
Eventually I had the idea of renaming the "Colonial1" XSP package (the actual file name) to "Xcolonial1" and for some reason all the other dissappead ships were then available in the game.
i) Though this has solved the current problem, will this eventually cause future problems with other Xsp ships?
Have you any tips on how to edit the Colonial one from being a TP to a Tl?
Using the ship creator i have adjusted for 4 landing bays and the obvious TL ship option. In game I see that there are four landing bays available but cannot dock.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
the problem of the other ships not showing up is a possible problem with the Ships data, so the game cant read past a certain ship. Reinstalling it could have fixed the problem, but without looking at the TShips it would be hard to tell what actually caused it.
best thing to do would be, if it happens again, to send me your TShips from the ship creator mod so i can have a look at it.
To change it to a TL u'll best looking at other working TL's for what settings they've used, But you most likly need to assign docking, take a look at the Dummies Entries, but you will more than likly need to add stuff into the Scene file for docking

The Galactica works with all three I havent loaded the Cylon ships yet though.
Uninstalling and reinstalling a ship works, renaming the xsp does nothing to the files contained within it though. The name of the file is just so that you can identify it if theres a newer version.
Im pretty sure there may be a conflict between my viper and the mk2 though. They just dont like loading together.
