As best I can tell, it looks like he is replacing the 7.4 files with 7.1 files.

but this bring other issues: if you'll have back your AI TS, you'll also start finding some "unknown" objects in the space, called "Read-TextXXXXX" (where X goes from 0 to 9).
I can tell you that there were some missing names already in version 0.7.3, so I wonder what happens with 0.7.1...

Also, is it sure that this patch (or whatever is, I'm not sure how to define it) will work? :?

I am not totally sure but I think. Looks like he has narrowed down were the problem is coming from. The jobwings" script. He has taking that script out of the old 7.1 build and coped it over the newer file.

What other problems this might cause I have no idea.

why my Terran Asgard shows he has Hangar for 6 ships but my Terran Thors MkII can't dock at it?

EDIT:wow i coud dock a Mercury Super Freighter XL.....since it has so much space why not simple ighters as M5,M4 and M3?

The Asgard is a special ship: not only the biggest TL in the X-universe, but TS and M6 can dock inside it, including a capital ship. So it can be used to deploy an entire fleet (remember that each Vidar can host 1 or 2 - not sure - fighters, not to mention the capital ship which can be a carrier).

quick question how do i build gama PPC's i cant seem to find a forge at a dock as well as a porting device station or a jump drive station. is there some wau i can reverse engineer these items from another ship or station and build them at my Headquarters or equipment dock?

There is the T0 "Faunus", but IIRC it can't build gPPC because you can't stock enough raw materials.
But there should be aPPC, bPPC and gPPC factories, which can be linked to create a complex... :wink:

Where are the marine\mercinaries in x3r xtm?

i've read thru several pages and have not been able to find information regarding the purchase location of military. one thread suggested a argon training ship. tried that but could not figure out if they had any let alone how to get them. someone please guide me.

fonz71, there are special factories which "produce" military personnel, if it's what you're looking for.
Argon have the "Military training facilities" where you can buy Marines;
Paranid have the Androids, Split have Mercenaries and finally Teladi have the Cyborg.
This structures are widespread in the whole universe, and they spawn in different places everytime you start a new game, so I can't tell you where to find them (but I'll tell you that twice I found an Argon Structure in Cloudbase South West).
There is also a special ship, a Mammoth, which trains soldiers: you can contact it with Xtended Comm and if you have enough money you can make a deal.

Lord Camulus, that's beyond my knowledge. Sorry. :(
What you can do is download the Scorp Map and use it to quickly check every shipyard so you can know where to buy these stations.
IIRC I've seen only Paranid, Boron and Argon PPC forge complex... :roll:

XTM and Vanilla Plot

I can't find an answer to a simple question, can I install XTM and still play the Vanilla plot? i.e. can the XTM plot start after the Vanilla plot

Or do I need to play through pure vanilla all the way first and then XTM with a new game?

well you can play the vanilla plot but i still don't know whats the XTM plot but it hasn't started during the vanilla plot

The vanilla plot is available in XTM but when you finish it the Terran fleet remains in Heretics End attacking all ships that go through the sector entering/leaving Terran space via the North Gate. The Terran fleet wouldn't be there when you use the non-plot stars.

The XTM main plot starts when a ship flying around Malestrom contacts you when you get close to it. You don't have to complete the vanilla plot to start the XTM plot.

The problem isn't "when" but rather "why".
adding XTM in the middle of a campaign can be done, but you might be unable to totally use what XTM adds without starting a new game (even a custom one).

About the profiles, if you have installed Cycrow PM, you can create a custom profile to use only with XTM, so it won't mess with your existing savegames. :wink:

You could make 2 installatins. One vanilla and another with XTM :D I've done it.

Valhalla Mission - Won't Start

How do I start the Valhalla mission? I've completed the Goner Missions (got Aran) and ES main story line. Docked at Goner Shipyard in Black Hole Sun - no message. Is there something else I need to do? Playing with latest XTM mod (7.4?).

I was just wondering, if I should re-download it, and then change my saved game over. I remember all of the new stuff in it, but then also I remember all of the bugs. And the lag from all of the new sectors.

Like in home of light, the "Terracorp shipyard" had disappeared.

Any ideas? I really enjoyed it, but it was kind of excruiating dealing with all of the bugs :wink:

XTM makes X3R really enjoyable experience

I thought XTM had some nice ideas, but pirate space was far too deadly, and life as a simple trader was all but impossible. Either you had lots of guns and sheilds, or you were effectivelly restricted to just the safe sectors in the west of the map.

I much prefer TC, because it has some of the content from XTM, but none of the balance issues (except the accursed OOS Q).
