This program allows users to easily install and uninstall scripts.
The scripts need to be in a script package file which is created using the including script packager.

The install also has the ability to add new wares for scripts to use, as well as installing custom ships into the game

For more information, visit the main website, which also includes help and guides to using the program.

The site also includes scripts and ships that you can download

=======================================

NOTES:
* This program will only remove scripts files, but some scripts require more to be properly uninstalled, like removing wares
and ships that might be created from the script. You should look in the readme of the script to find any special instructions
for uninstalling.
* Thanks to doubleshadow for his cat and pck unpacking code

Plugin Manager noob dumb question

Post by SLUGGO »

I am using the plug in manager for the first time w/ Cycrows guild scripts and have a dumb question. I started the game using the "Run Game" button within the Plugin Manager Installer and went to dock, checked the BBS, and found out it worked! My question is this: Do I need to start the game from the Plugin Manager every time now if I want the scripts, or can I run it from the vanilla exe. I always used before from my desktop? Thanks

Edit: - the game can be run from either as far as I can see as long as the Plug in Manager is activated from the start menu under "Select Mod Package"

the launch buttons in the plugin manager are just simply shortcuts to start the game.

there is no difference using them, to running the exe manaually, or running the desktop/start menu short cut.

however, make sure the plugin manager is closed before running the game, as the plugin manager sets up the game directory when the program is closed

I am also having some trouble compiling the Linux tool, can someone please make a better build script. ITs looking in all the wrong places. Might even be good to just statically link the app and release some binaries.

I had the same problem building the linux tool. I've actually considered installing xp to reinstall x3 reunion I bought several years ago for windows just so I can script/mod it. since the linux tools don't ever work and it's not fun to manage or even create scripts. thanks cycrow. :)

I am guessing that this is the first and last game i am buying from LinuxGamesPublishing.

It crashes and so many of the apps don't work on 64bit os.

Mods installation and Anromeda Ascendant ship mod

Post by Anestis »

i'm a beginer in installing mods and i'm interested for starters to install ships in X3 Reunion since there aren't that many mods for terran conflict, so i installed Andromeda Ascendant ship since i realy loved the series but i can't seem to be able to find it in game...
in the plugin manager i have it installed and in "enabled" is "yes" but in "profile" is "no" and i have it in "current mod profile".. i tried to have it in "standard game" to but nothing...
i have the slipstream fighters in with it but only once i managed to find them in game but they where invisible no models-textures....
So anyone that knows about the plugin manager or anything else or how and where to find andromeda after i've installed it correct please help me.

Firstly thanks for creating the plugin manager....

But....

I spent hours trying to get the custom ships to work through the plugin manager to work and then I noticed the above comment. On the assumption this is still an issue does anyone have a workarounf for this?

I seem to have this woeking now.

It seemed to work after selecting "Fake Patch" and "Extracted to directories" in the ship settings tab of the installer.

Although can;t be 100% that's all it is because I've been fannying around with it for hours.

Not sure I dare touch any of it now in case it goes wrong again!

Ships are not at Shipyards?

Post by blanchardg »

I installed the X-Fleet mod and a couple of ships from Cycrows website, modded a couple with his latest plug-in manager and tested to see if I had successfuly moved them into Argon Shipyards, however, there not there! They did however install correctly, I can use LV cheats to spawn them, but I wanted to save up and buy them instead. Is there a script where I can manually add ships to be sold at a specific shipyard? Any ideas why the ship creator didnt not put them into the Argon shipyards?

Thanks for any help!

{If you ask why Cycrow's Plugin Manager does this or that, you do it in its thread. Merged. jlehtone}

It seems that Download #1 (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/SPKUtil-1.00.tar.gz) is no longer available.

Plugin Manager problems

Post by Nosboi »

Hi

X3 problem

I installed the script RRF (My first and only script) with the Plugin manager. Now I want to remove it but there are no scripts on the plugin manager list, though it's still in my games.

Btw is it normal for eq docks to buy infinite amounts of missles etc?

Is the plugin manager pointing to the correct X3 installation?

For ones that it doesn't sell, yes. It's a way of getting rid of excess high end goods which otherwise would clog up the economy.

Yeah Im 100 percent sure It's in the right directory

C:/Program Files/EGOSOFT/X3 Reunion

I do like the script, Id just rather complete the story first (I have not saved my game with the scripts enabled as of yet) Im also worried that if it isn't installed properly my saves might go corrupt.

Thanks for the help and fast response.

Easiest solution is to simply reinstall the script. All that will do is overwrite the files, and hopefully the package will then show in the list. Then uninstall it, and it should be gone.

Incidentally, as long as you don't activate the script editor, or otherwise have something which modifies the game, unsigned scripts in the scripts folder won't be run by the game anyway.

Thanks for the help.

It seems the script I downloaded was the RRF package which seems to crash the script installer half way through installing each time.

If I had say, deleted the scripts folder and replaced It with the scripts folder I had backed up before installing the script (I never saved the game) Would that be alright?
