Did you wind up making this compatible with draffutt's unofficial bug fix mod? Didn't see any progress report after you confirmed he gave permission.

Sorry i don't think i did. I must of forgot with all the stuff in RL i had going on.

I will be creating a new load of compatible mods soon.

I see, in that case I eagerly anticipate them. :thumb_up:

Would the mod be at all functional if I were to disregard the scene files? I could easily create a patched tships myself but editing the former is beyond me.

You would lose the engine colors but keep the particle trails.

Hey Guys !

These Engine colors fit very good into the game and to the specific races ! It looks very nice ! Good work , man ! :D

BUT
I've found a bug with it on the Yaki M3+ (dont know english name , only Yaki wich looks nice :D ). The Model (not the ship itself) is turned in a right angel , but the weapons , the direction where you fly to and the shiny new (realy , nice work :D cant say it often enough) engine effects are in the normal angel :? The Cokpit stays at the same place , and also is the engine trail placed a bit too far away so that you alway have these particels in your sight.

That is strange. Nothing i have done should do that but i will check the mod when i have time (none at the moment cos RL is MEH at the moment).

You using anymore mods along with mine?

I use no mods , only scripts but none of them touches TShips (wich i think is the file your Mod changes)

They are :
  • Cmod3
    MARS
    Cycrows Cheats
    Alpha PPC
    Hard Mode TC
    Signal Boost
    Comms Ambient
    Military HUD
An other thing wich shows that its from your mod : before that , the Yaki ship looked normal . That Bug appeared first when i installed your Mod

It took me a little while to get this working (getting it to work with custom ships and a load of other mods but it payed off!) and I love packB, everything is brilliant apart from the paranid (wanted them yellow like packA). So here is my question: how would I go about changing / mixing / whatever so the paranid have yellow flares, trails, glow, but in packB?

You need to add the engine effects (.bob/.bod) from pack A for the paranid ships. Then you need to edit the .dds file called 402 (might be different cant remember the number of the top of my head) and change the color of purple/blue section of the image to yellow.

Hi, is there any chance that I can use this particle trails along with a cockpit-mod? I am not experienced in modding, so I cant do it, if it is not simple to perform. Otherwise I will kindly ask to merge this mod with PSCO1 cockpits ;-)

(Edit: I could delete the scene files in particle trail mod. Would this work? The engine colours are not too important to me.)

May I ask what changes have been made in the objects\ships folder and what would happen if they were removed?

The ship scene files have be edited to either move add/remove particle emitters from various ships. Removing them will remove certain trails for some ships.

It might do depending on what files the cockpit mod has changed. I have no time at all at the moment do to crapy RL crap to do any modding what so ever. If you ask around some one might be able to merge the two mods and I give that person full permission to do that.

Hmm, a quandary then...I'm looking at re-merging this with SRM (for personal use at the moment) and the fact that it's merged with draffutt's bugfixes means that it has scene files in that folder. I haven't actually checked to see if these specific ones conflict yet, though.

Its very nice mod.
But i dont like big trails and I dont know how it affects on performance.
What I should restore from backup or editing to remove trails? I whant only cool engine colours.

Just a heads-up that I'm diving into the SRM and if my head doesn't explode, will release a new, updated version. Here's hoping.

Trails shouldn't effect performance at all if you have an ok graphic card (game is cpu limited well be for graphics come into it).

If you just want the engine colours you need to edit the mod nad remove teh tship file.

First I just want to say I love this trail mod and IMO trails should have been in X3 from the start as they were in X2.

Is there any way to get the game to render the trails a bit further into the distance? They seem to dissapear quite rapidly as a ship moves away from the viewpoint. Missile trails don't seem to be affected by this just the ship trails.

I'm using the Ship Rebalance Mod version if this has an impact on the question.

The ship Ship Rebalance Mod is a few versions old now and i have promised to update it a couple of times. Just have not had access to my PC that much lately.
