Both your theories worked. Tried everything again clean and no beeping this time, so the save must have been flagged. Commenting out that line worked well too.
Got everything, apart from any 2nd/3rd stations attached to a complex hub. The primary station was fine. Thanks again for all the help and of course the scripts

Symtec, got an interesting issue going on here. I've used this convertor many times in the past with no problems. Even imported a large empire into an XTM 7.2 game from vanilla and XFP without difficulty.
But, now that I've patched XTM to 7.3, I try to "read" the same xml file to import my old empire, and NO stations get imported. Get a "parsing" error for each and every one of them. The ships and the rest get imported fine.
I have commented out the second line of plugin.stl.x3.start, as suggested above. I have tried importing into new games, saved games, etc, with no luck. Stations do not import; everything else seems to work correctly. I have the proper Ashley's XXL mod as before. I can think of no reason for this not to work, other than the 7.3 XTM patch???? Not sure why that would do it.
Get the loud beep after the "read" process starts. Using latest plugin manager 2.x, latest x3, bonus, fully functional game with some added scripts (which didn't affect earlier successful import).
Any suggestions? Anyone else have this issue? Hate to go through the headache of rebuilding my stations...

It says headquarters on it, but its a mammoth, and it has my headquarters in its hold, but i cant deploy it. Any ideas?
However, HQ being not able to be put up is not an intended behaviour. I've heard things about problems with setting up the HQ in the same sector twice, but noone confirmed anything of this to me yet. (In fact, I've been waiting for any comments on this problem for quite a while now.)
Why can't you deploy it? Does the option not show up? Maybe you install Special Command Software MK1 on the Mammoth, or just throw the box out and collect it by another TL...
Any others having the same prob?
Did you, by any chance, use V2.4 or earlier to compile the .txt/.xml-file, but now use V2.5 for decompressing? Hi. I've been trying for an hour to get this to work. I've followed every step religiously but still can't seem to get it to function.
I receive the error:
null-header could not be read correctly String readtext8758-1
Here are the steps that I have followed:
1) Successfully made logfile
2) Copied it into "t" folder
3) renamed it 448758.xml
-Language on both is "id:44"
-Have tried it 3 times now
EDIT: the thing I should add is that the 448758.xml file is still a .txt file even though it has been renamed.

Hi SymTec ltd., I have one problem with using X3-X3 converter (v2.5). I am converting from X3 2.0.2+bonus pack 3.1.06 to XTM 0.73. Everytime I do the READ command on save from XTM, all runs fine except from my Shield Prod. Facility 1 MJ in Argon Prime. I am getting error:
"decide main 0 sub 5 stat Unknown Object "
"2 - parsing error: object 2 couldnt be created: string (name of id2)"
I am just linking 2 ids and head of 448758.xml:

Ok, got some issues I'm afraid...
X3 w/ latest patch and lastest bonus pack, XTM 0.7.3 and a few more scripts.
Creating the logfile and renaming and all of that works well, but when I start the converting process, using the Anonymus Argon start, I end up with only about half of the sectors explored of those that I have explored. My Goner reputation is whacked, was neutral to them before the process. Some of my XTM ships are missing their shields and the drone frigate doesn't recognize any of it's 24 drones (the commands for the drones are greyed out).
But other than this I really like what you have done with this script.
X3 w/ latest patch and lastest bonus pack, XTM 0.7.3 and a few more scripts.
Creating the logfile and renaming and all of that works well, but when I start the converting process, using the Anonymus Argon start, I end up with only about half of the sectors explored of those that I have explored. My Goner reputation is whacked, was neutral to them before the process. Late reply: The "nullnullnull" appeared several times before. You could try replace it with "000" in order to make things work. It might have to do with the station type (1MJ-fab) you are trying to copy, it does not have maintype 0 afaik. You did try to do the same thing a second time, didn't you?

* Are the ships missing their shields, or are the shields inside them and just not being loaded?
* I guess the drone frigate is a special XTM-thingy, which I have no idea of what it does and why it doesn't do so.

as i had mentioned in my email with the various fixs i made and send to you symtec; for the shield problem in your plugin.stl.x3.ship.xml it only checks and installs up to 125mj. so if a ship has another other shield type it is ignored (not installed).SymTec ltd. wrote: * What type of sectors didn't you have explored? Need Help
I am trying to run the X3 - X3 converter on a saved X3 game and have followed all instructions outlined in the readme file that comes with the converter package, including renaming my name to Thereshallbewings to activate scripting. However, the X3 Converter option does not appear in my ships special command menu.
Is there something I am missing here, can anyone help?

didn't mean anything by it. i figured you are a very busy and give you a hand with the issue by making various fixes and sending it to you so you could take a look at it whenever you get the chance.
by the way just a heads up to maintain compatiablity with plain x3 (no mods installed) i did not include checks for military shields or pirate shields that were introduced with XTM with the fixes i sent.
