I haven't updated beyond 7.3 scripts yet. But that sounds like a bad install unless 7.4/7.5 has turned them on by default.

I know that in my 7.3 install, they are definitely not accessible until that AL switch is thrown or I complete the Vanilla plot.

If you want to continue with install/troubleshooting questions, push over to the Tech Support Thread and you'll probably get some more help/options.

P.S. I'll take a look at the 7.5 readme and see if there is any mention.

Sorry Looks like the 7.5 doesn't have any readme inside and TXU is down right now. I'd suggest looking at your install and if need be tell us the results in the XTM Tech Support Thread.

I'm playing XTM 7.5 and there is a switch for those Terrans in a non-plot game. I dunno if there is one in a plot game.

Since the XTM is being transferred to a new server and it is unavailable at this moment, i would like to ask you something, about using LV's sript cheat.

I wonder if someone wants to create a ship, with a special characteristic (e.g. Seth's special guns), will the created ship have the special feature on board ?

I know if you "cheat-in" a ship it comes with all the standard equipment. Then you may be able to add wares to it after that. The ship must already exist in your game. If "Seth's special guns" is an existing ware you can add it. All wares must already be part of the game.

To change any "characteristics" of existing weapons/ships you'll have to use the ship creator or edit game files directly.

In 7.5 the option is there, in AI settings. If you don't have it, then there must be something wrong with your installation. In any case, did you enable the script editor after starting a new game? It is a required step for all the missions to become active. It may not be required if you copied your savegames from your old installation - not quite sure of this.

The terrans can not be contacted with the comm feature of the vanilla game. So it's normal they are not responding.
The ability to dock depends on your reputation with them. You can check your rep with terrans (and yaki, pirates, khaaks and xenon) by the AI option menu (iirc the second from top, check race reputation or something like yhat), by clicking on yes you cycle through these races and can see your rep level with them.
If you refer to not being able to dock at shipyards (but you can dock at other stations) that is a common problem: be sure to select the equipment docks and dock to those. For buying a ship from them you have to use the trading extension (bought at teladi stations and terracorp hq) and trade remotely with the shipyard.

It may not be required if you copied your savegames from your old installation - not quite sure of this.
Vanilla save games cannot be reused with XTM. You have to start a new XTM game to get the sectors and new XTM content.

Still sounds like a bad install if the AL options aren't available at all.

[X3R + XTM] Claiming M6?

I've had no problems in claiming the smaller ships but cannot claim an unpiloted M6 (centaur floating in space) - do I need special software or something for anything bigger than an m3?

Thanks for your reply.
I have been runnung some trials with LVB' cheat script, to find out which is the best solution with ships load out.
I found out that, as to my exaple, go to last frontier near a Seth, see the details of the ship and when your satisfy with it's load out, go for a clone ship. Then you will have an identical ship in your possesion.

To be honest thought, using this script is completing spoiling the game.
Unless, like me, you played alot and having started a couple times a new game, then you mai use it just for the sake of it.

Thanks guys for the input. It really sucks, but it must be a bad install then. I have enabled the scripted editor.

One thing is that I will turn on the check rep with races thingy to see my rep, but I have the top rep possible for all main races. Weird that the turn on Terrans selection is not there.

That plugin will remove itself from the lust when it was activated either by hand or automatically. It is automatically activated by either completing the ES plot or starting as Terran Flight Leader.

terran space questions

my terran reputation is currently absolute pants and i was hoping the following would work.

my plan is to set up a silicon mine in oort cloud and attach to that a crystal fab and a solar power plant. (dont need to attach a rastar refinery as i have a honking great complex of 6 chelt space aquariums and 6 rastar refinerys linked together in split space)hopefully the terrans will buy the energy cells from me. i have an elephant equipped with a jumpdrive ready to take me there as most of the other terran sectors still see me as an enemy and shoot at me as soon as i pass through the jumpgate.

later on the plan is to set up further mines in oort cloud (ore as well as silicon) and have transport ships going between the solar power plant and the other stations to supply them.

do you reckon this will work????

thing is though, how do i know when my race relations with the terrans are improving, is it just a case of going through a gate and seeing if i get shot at or not?


also i picked up an unknown object in teladi space after despatching a few xenon/pirate ships, i installed the object on my centaur and it came up as being installed in the missile bay, is there any way of finding out what unknown objects actually are?

Trade does appear to be the only way up relations with Terran.

In the AL options is a check notoriety switch. It will tell you what it is with Terran, Yaki (7.3) and others (7.4/7.5).

thats cool, i thought that may be the case of finding out my race notirierty but i am currently -150 with the terrans and can only sell in 3 or 4 of the terran sectors, cant buy anything yet.

could be in for a long haul, may build a couple of self sufficient complexes there and start selling stuff.

One note on Terran trading was to use fast fighter/haulers versus freighters to outrun any hostiles in the area, also they are trading so fast that the rep goes up quicker.

cheers spoidz, i see what you mean about fast freighters. caiman tankers may be needed here as i beleive there top speed is around 120. but my main plan is to start up a couple of self sufficient complexes in oort belt first and see what happens. i have a complex set up in patriarchs retreat which consists of L silicin mine, quantum tube fab, crystal fab and M solar power plant. it seems to sell really quickly and made me about 7,000,000 profit in about a day. so if i can get 2 of them going and get them selling something else like microchips or something like that then who knows what will happen. and on top of that i wont need any CAG's etc as the plant will run itself. only thing i will need is my elephant which has a jumpdrive attached to it anyway so i can skip the hostile sectors(love that jumpdrive kit script).

i left my own ship and close to cantaur on less than 20 m and press I but the CLAIM icon do not apear

firstly, have you targeted the centaur? if you haven't you need to.
secondly, i usually board by going to the TARGET option, clicking on that and then use the board ship or i think its called the CONTROL COMPUTER option.

if you choose to board the ship, then just eject again to get back to your first craft. seeing as your in a xenon sector, i would personally use the CONTROL COMPUTER option.

Lol, you cannot claim ships upper than M3 class... To have such possibility you need to install Salvage Claim Software script and buy specified upgrade in dockwares... Adding something more I recommend you to install Bail Signal Extension - it gives you a chance to claim also M1/M2/M0 ships!
