If it can be done for X3TC (click my sig for more info), then I think they can do it for X: Rebirth.Duriel_LOP wrote:
This would be really nice! but Its going to be rather hard for them to program it! if they haven't done it already by now I imagine, but I'm willing to be pleasantly suprised!

The thing I want to know the most!...
Will I be able to hire (And talk to face-to-face) Paranid, Teladi, Boron and Split NPCS?
(If they are even in the game! *holds breath*)

I am desperate to know the answers to these questions. Since the X-Encylopedia mentions the only way the Commonwealth races have interacted after the gate shutdown is via message drones, I'm concerned that the entire game may concern only the Argon...mr.WHO wrote:Q: Will Sol/Terrans/ATF be present in X-Rebirth?

A thought from another thread that it would be good to get an answer to:
If you are allways in the PoA and there that is the only ship you are guranteed to have available at a moments notice, what options are there to have others ship nearby or onboard, or to be able to call in very quickly?
Background:
Since Reniuon, may chosen player ship has allways been something that can dock a couple of fighters and yet be pratical to fly manually - hyperion prototype then, griffon being the other that I use. In Xtended its a reaper (Heavy fighter like M6 with a docking clamp on it for a single fighter).
The reason being - my heavy ship is solid enough to cruise around in safely. It can brush off any typical fighter squad. Ideally its agile and fast enough to chase down a pirating oppotunity without too much hassle. It can deal with M6s and their escort easily, maybe even take on the occasiojnal M7. Additionally its got the cargo space for stuff I find, stuff I need, supplies for my two fighters and perhaps enough space for many missions involving small to medium amounts of cargo.
If I need a good fighter in a hurry - Ive got one docked that I can jump into, fully supplied and ready to go - I rarely need jump energy for the fighters - so fighter/recon cargo space can be devoted to missiles and ammo or whatever the tyask needs. If I need a fast recon / sat deployment ship - Ive got a kestrel onboard as well.
If Im in one of the docked fighters and something big and nasty turns up, I have an immediate safe haven - I can quickly dock back with the heavier ship and decide what to do.
Also, because these ships are onboard safely behind some good shielding and a thick hull - I dont have to worry about them either - a random asteroid, or stray missile or fire from a heavy cruiser isnt going to one shot detroy them etc.
But in the PoA? An M6 hull? Not quite strong enough to stand upto and heavy aversaries, neither agile enough nor well shielded enough to deal with squads of fighters, Im assuming also too small to carry any additional ships or evben much cargo for supplies etc?
Personally I hate most M6s (exceptions being ultra-heavy fighter variants - reaper (XTC), springblossum and the hyperion) - otherwise they seem the worst of all worlds. In TC/AP, Id choose a TM over the average M6 any day - and especially the PoA that exists in AP if that it anything to go by
So with that background of my typical player ship choice and reasons in mind - what are the options for having a couple of small recon and combat ships handy? Or calling in something heavier at a moment's notice?
Or, is the answer for someone who wants this flexibility basic to allways remote a larger ship with a hanger and just park the PoA somewhere safe - presumably loosing many of the benefits (UI and perhaps situational awareness) there might be of having your real ship in the location of whatever is happening?
TBH - Id rather fly around in an aran (lots of shields, thick hull, insane cargo space, but no weapans at all) than an average M6 - at leats it can pack a scary fleet on board

My second question:
Ars longa, vita brevis. quare?
Since i doubt Bernd is going to answer my first question, i shall posit this second. Time for an answer is unimportant as i exist upon the lip of the event horizon. Ex nihilo nihil fit.

If it isn't too late:
Now that the old M1/M2/M3/etc. classes are gone, can you shed any light at all on the ship classification system in Rebirth?

Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

They've already answered this. The PoA will be able to have drones onboard, which you can launch and then pilot via remote control. The drones could be fighter drones, or other more specialized drones.Sir Warwick wrote: If you are allways in the PoA and there that is the only ship you are guranteed to have available at a moments notice, what options are there to have others ship nearby or onboard, or to be able to call in very quickly?

Q. Is Suzie the co-pilot.
