I am using the X-Shuttle. It's my fighter capper/passenger shuttle. I have 2 PBEs and 4 EMPCs. I've only been using the PBEs. Once the shields are down I've tried switching to one, and it still doesn't make a difference. The problem is that the ship AI has the suicidal tendency to launch a missle while being fired on, so the missle gets destroyed but destroys the ship in the splash damage.
These days I mainly just talk to plants and dogs,
all human contact seems painful, risky, odd,
so I stay acting god in my own X-Universe!

Then make it fire them till it depletes them then save. Destroy missiles only when they're far enough from the ATF ship.

LOL, that drives you mad trying to cap that first Mojollnir or what ever it is named off hand. (7 diffrent ships each tried 4 cap attempts and all failed, assored weapons load outs and combitions, UNTIL...) The thing is easy the first time set up with a skinir and 4 ion disruptors NO lazer weapons!!!!. Sure the ship is slow, but the lazer power supply keeps them ion D's going.

I would hold the fire button down till the shields were stripped, then just keep pulse hitting that ship as quick as it will let you. You will here him say about 5-6 times "I can't take much more of this" and around 45% he bails.

2nd note: I thought I would RE the ship and make a new one to deliever to the dark sation but at my PHQ it would not give the option to RE it. So I guess you just outright turn it over to them or opt out not to then try to RE again after it is at the Dark Station.

Like it or not, you have to turn the first Mjollnir in. The second time you're told to capture the Mjollnir, it will contain the blueprint for the Valkyrie if I recall correctly.

On the 2nd cap one do you automatically get the bonas BP, or do you turn it in to get the BP? OR can you RE that ship with the bonus BP?

Or is it no option that you turn it over as the story line forces you like the first cap one.

Thanks

The second M4 you capture has to survive until after the end of the plot (the fight against 4 Tyrs) as it contains the BP for the Valkyrie, same being valid for the Fenrir, which contains the BP for the Thor.
Reverse-engineering the Mjollnir and Fenrir BEFORE the end of the plot will result in losing the aforementioned schematics they contain.

Thank you for explaining that clearly, Don't RE before the end of the plot or you lose the bonus BP's!!! :)

I was finally able to capture the Fenrir! I shot all 3 of its missiles out of space, then flew to my Panther, which I had follow me, so it was really close. Then I tried a few more times with the X-Shuttle, still no luck. Finally I looked at my other ships for something else to use; an IRE. I found one and loaded it on, and capped it on the first try! However, the Mjollinir is still not giving it up.

Ships have problems with docking to Terran stations while you are present/in sector. Move to another sector and order the TP to dock.

Even AI-controlled ships, those you don't own, take a lot of time to dock at Terran stations if you're in the same sector. Move elsewhere and use SETA to speed things up.

And you've noticed this while being in the same sector or by checking the sector map while you were elsewhere? If it's the first, I have no clue what's causing this glitch.

Sometimes the most obvious questions are the ones that should be asked when nothing else works. So, you did load 10 marines onto your Scabbard, right?

Once the escorts are destroyed, the transport will make its way over to a Dark Space installation off the beaten path. When docked safe and well, Torres thanks you for your help; it's time to pitch your alliance proposal to him.

Then destroy the ship. I couldn't guard my Scabbard from a fleet of hundreds of M3s and a dozen of M1/M2, so it was destroyed, but I didn't fail the mission. The plot is scripted in such a way that losing the Scabbard isn't something bad. You'll be notified that the marines were able to send the data they obtained.
If you want to both preserve your Terran reputation and succeed with the mission, use a bigger ship (an M6 would be enough) and ram the Scabbard with it. Collide with the TP till it's destroyed.

He's NOT on that mission yet. He's at the part where you follow the prison transport until the prisoners take it over, in which you then escort it back to the Dark Space installation. This is at the end of the first mission, before you start collecting the ships.

And @ demoledor: Are there still any enemies flying around in the sector? Maybe you can try shooting at it? Can you try reloading to a point right before you have to follow the ship? Also, the ship name in English is a Scabbard.
