For X3 Terran Conflict 2.0 (EN)??

Post by StressTest »

OK, I'm a little confused here. I purchased X3 Terran Conflict 2.0 (EN) which is patched to 2.01 by default.

I do not see a patch file that is specifically for this build. Will this patch still work?

Please advise.

Thank you in advance for your reply,

Correct. As a general rule, patches that are for versions that are older than the one you have should work if there isn't one for your specific version.

Your question is answered in the Copy Protection sticky thread in Tech Support. The fact that there has been no change to that part of the thread means that there is no new information as to when it might happen.
Y'know, "about a year" after release would be October. October, coincidentally, is when a lot of us are going to be doing clean installs anyway (Win7).

If the NoTAGES patch was ready by then, it'd certainly be appreciated. I know it's not entirely in Egosoft's hands, but here's hoping nonetheless.

I have been waiting for performance update.

Compare to version 1.4, How much does it improve in performance?

with 1.4 i used x2 AA and x2AF, with 2.0 i used x4 AA and x4AF and with 2.1 i can use max AA and AF and still have better performance than 2.0 and 1.4. Also i can fly past complexes and i get almost no lag, with seta x1000 flying past complexes i still get a good frame rate :)

So for me there was a lot of increase in the performance since 1.4 but i guess im not limited that much by my hardware in my pc.

I stopped playing XTC about 6 weeks ago... largely due to the sluggish performance issues.... can anyone say if this has now been fixed with this patch before I consider starting up again?

It's very annoying after spending a zillion days building up your empire only to find the game grinds to a halt after all that invested game-play.

Ok... I bought the Boxed V2.0 "The Aldrin Missions" X3TC game, and when I go to update it, it says 2.1 doesn't work for it. Or there is no "2.0 -> 2.1 patch" just a 2.0(a) -> 2.1 patch... which do I have, and does this 2.1 patch apply to the game I bought? I really want to try those Treasure Hunt missions :)

Do most 2.0-compatible mods work on 2.1?

2.0(a) is for 2.0 and 2.0a.

Questions about scripts & mods belong in the Scripts & Modding forum.

So the 2.0(a) -> 2.1 download is the one I need? Thanks. :)

But when I check for updates, shouldn't that tell me the one I need to use? When I click the button to do so on my startup menu on X3:TC game it doesn't show anything new.

you folks at egosoft are awesome. I love how you support your games! One thing I wish would be included is a way to remove objects from scripts that I might have put in but then I removed. Like those "unknown object" or "null." Stuff like that. Reason, my HDD crashed but I was able to salvage my savegames. I had a bunch of good scripts running but I can't remember which ones I installed. Maybe as an alternative some way to figure out what scripts were installed in a game. I know, I can dream... :)

Just a question, there is no way of getting the new Chokaro in a already started game? :S

I haven't seen this ship yet. Not sure if they included it in the game at the end.

2.0 not 2.0(a)

Post by JeffersonBurton@cinci.rr. »

My version states 2.0 not 2.0(a).

Is there an update for my version?

The updater indicates the 2.0(a) update is incompatible.
