Version 1.h released
Just one very small change in this release. A possible bug was identified in the fork campaign code. I'm still not sure it was a bug, and I can't replicate it, but the code looked like it could do with tidying up anyway, so I did that.

Ah, there isn't one, because refresh is supposed to be automatic now. I thought I added that code??draffutt wrote:Everything is working very well so far. But I use a bit of a clarification on this. Vault -> open the vault and the text to the right. It states …”click the ‘refresh list’ button on the main window to update the list of available campaigns.” Ok….. so where is this ‘refresh list’ button?
Sigh... Sorry, I meant to. Probably did and it's commented out or something stupid. Thatnks for noticing, I'll get mah fixin hat on.
Edit: Yup, it was there, but commented out, probably because I'm an idiot

I've put it in now, I'll update the download in a minute.

New Version
Now stocking version 1.i at a browser near you...
This release fixes a problem with the vault code. I forgot to activate auto refresh of the campaigns list after the vault was used. All fixed now

I was looking over the PDF and you may want to update the picture on page 14 since there isn't a "Refresh List button" and you changed that section of the text.
You're going on the list buddy.....

Also - fixed...

Update: Source code released
Here you go then, the source for the savegame manager:
Download
I'll still fix any bugs that turn up in the savegame manager, but this ends active development of it as far as I'm concerned.
When the next game is released I'll start from scratch and write a new savegame manager for that.

I already did so, but I was more than glad that I had a backup from beforehand. The overwritten save (in the managerfolder) was recoverable (make a backup zip every time). It is easy to misinterpret the use and an accidental delete of savegames is not excludedTTD wrote:Could you make this an option, please? When you create a fork of the active campaign, this doesn't also make the new fork the active campaign.
I nearly overwrote a save file before realizing this.
Thanks for all your hard work.

Otherwise your SGM is fantastic, nice work and thank you!
This is my actual problem too (v1.i):
EDIT: Reinstall of Java worked!
I recently installed a fresh Win7 x64 system along with the newest Java x86+x64 Version (Version 6 Update 20 ~three weeks ago). Now I will do a reinstall of Java and EDIT later.draffutt wrote:Just a couple of things:
I keep getting this error: what could be causing this?

Your PDF states it is for version 1.d but here in the link it states 1.g maybe update PDFs title since you stated there should't be any more updates?

The way campaign forking work is described in the manual.Eisenkalle wrote: It is easy to misinterpret the use and an accidental delete of savegames is not excludedI was lucky, others are not.

I can't see how I could make it clearer.Note that the forked campaign does not become the active campaign, you will have to switch to it yourself using the 'activate campaign' button.

There's nothing I could do to prevent physical deletion of savegames outside the manager. However, the addition of the delete button at least should keep the incidents of people getting their saves and campaigns messed up my manual deletion. I couldn't quite bring myself to give the delete button the ability to delete the active campaign though, that just seemed like asking for trouble.
Re-installing should fix it.Eisenkalle wrote: I recently installed a fresh Win7 x64 system along with the newest Java x86+x64 Version (Version 6 Update 20 ~three weeks ago). Now I will do a reinstall of Java and EDIT later.
These sorts of java install issues are why I've decided to use C++ and QT next time. I only used Java to start with because I was using it for some contract work at the time.
I'd rather like to do just that with the current manager, but there's just no time to spend on it any more, which is why I released the source.

Thank you,
I already managed the reinstall of Java and it is working perfectly now.
Ah I don't know excactly what went wrong with the forking. I used the manual (especially because of accidential savegame kill), but it seemed I also missed something... it's clear, it's easy, but sh** happens. So no rush to change anything, which is easily explained or handled (or simply read!).
The compatibility will be better for Win-users with C++ (or whatever), but the actual Javasolution works also fine. It is siply the Javainstallation which causes problems then.

Are you talking about some Java SDK?TTD wrote:Java was updated yesterday-8th June 2010
or was it Sunday 6th.
Time slips by when you're enjoying life.
I use the end-user/browser version of Java (Java Runtime Environment - JRE). Which is atm Version 6 Update 20 from April, but not last weekend. Perhaps your "Java autoupdate" has updated your version on sunday. Also there were no news regarding an update (or I simply can not find it
