Thanx for this really nice script.
I installed it today and allready got a few messages on the board. One time i got two messages for speed tuning at the same time, so I could have tuned my ship for the same price twice. It that supposed to be that way?
I didn't use it cause I didn't want to fly my M5 at over 1000 m/s. I still have to be able to steer that thing...

meh
save it...this is a dream to fighter aces who agree that m6s are no use a personal ships.
okay it costs....my nemi costs roughly 6M per tune, and i've had about 12 speed tunes and 8 steering tunes..
not much can match a nemi at 312m/s and steering at 19%. it's like the speed of an m4, steering of an X2 corvette...but with 4 BHEPTS and 4 BPSGs
then again, not even a destroyer costs the 130 Million or so I spent on it..well it's close, but to each their own. destroyer has more guns and everything, but this is my personal ship. I pay destroyer prices because this is worth more to me. I send my destroyer at the station on auto, but for picking targets....it's gotta be the nemi

Tritous,
I agree. The high prices help for the 'cheat' feeling. I've stopped upgrading my Nova Raider now, as it has a speed of about 480 m/s. It makes it truly uber, but then again I have paid about what it costs to get an M1 for it.
My next featured upgrade object is a Teladi Falcon Sentinel. A fighter with 2x125MJ shields and a top speed of 300+ m/s is quite handy.

Maybe its because I have Blackrains rebalance on first so my start off speed is 191 for the Elephant so maybe it thinks it already has been tuned as 31 million isnt half of 20 millthe prices should be based directly off the price of the ship itself
the first tuning should be half the value of the ship

lol
nemesis beats any m3 without trying. it has a LOT of firepower and just looks sexy. plus it has 375 MJ shields.
point is, an m6 is the limit of the power unless you want to lose control of your ship. I like a ship where I control it, where it's ME that has the trigger and aim and guns. that's why I an willing to pay as much as I would for a fully fitted M2 with a bay full of torpedoes. I want a godlike ship that can take on anything, but I has to be my taking things on, not some AI turret. granted it's sorta cheating but it costs, and still I have to fear getting hit to some extent, boosted or not the high mass makes the swing on turns excessive, and I have to be very careful how I fly it.
but that's why I want it...it's a super personal ship, but it takes the skills that I love to pretend I have. like the boosted falcon except bigger, stronger and more guns.
I would have the osprey except for two things: the X3 osprey is hideous (I liked the X2 teladi ships for looks) and the power generator just isn't adequate for that many turrets.

Ok, a Noob question I know but this si the first script I've used. Now I've downloaded it, Im pretty sure its installed (shows up in the scripts folder as a whole bunch of things, saying BBS this and that) But how do I get it to work ingame? Is there anything I need to do/press/click on? Im playing on Quickstart mode at the moment, and I have only looked in 5 or so stations but I didnt find any BBS's. Does it matter what Race Im looking at? what sort of station it is?

You can Overclock you PC to run X3, but how about overclocking your ship in X3...
I was reading through the post here the other day and found this "overtune" script. This script places and ad in your stations that they can over tune your speed and manuverability (think I spelled that correctly) let me tell you this thing is great, a bit expensive but great... My Nova now is running at a speed of 201, which I think it is where it should be... Because this 125 speed really was not cutting it for me.
I do not know about everyone, but my only disappointment in the game is that they slowed down most if not all of the ship speeds. I can not remember the exact post where I downloaded this file from, just search in the script section and you should find it.
Be aware that if you use this, it is NOT cheap... I think I have spent almost 4 mill in overtunes, and my Nova is almost just right...
Thanks to the scriptor that wrote this particular script...

welll
if you check my earlier posts it's not meant to be cheap. granted X3 killed the speeds like hell but that aside, you are trying to force a ship to go beyond it's limits...
it's expensive, but you pay for the fact that you are breaking the limits

Problem...
Hi,
I have been using the Overtune script for a while. I recently installed the beta patch and now see a problem.. Anyh ship I have that is overtuned seems to have this issue now...
If I set full speed and hit seta, it does nicely. But if I lock onto an object or give it a dock command or follow command, the speed reduces itself to about 1/6th of the full overtuned speed it is now capable of.. For example, I have a Nova overtuned so it now has about a speed of 340. I tell it to follow a trader on the other end of the sector. Instead of using 340 to get to it it drops the speed down to about 63!!
Or let's say I tell it to dock at argon equipment dock in another sector... I get the same thing.
If I just max speed and drive the ship myself with no autopilot, I get the full 340 no prob...
Again this started AFTER installing the beta patch and yes I have reinstalled the Overtune script again.
Any ideas?

do you mean the 1.3.01 BETA?
if so this script is probably not compatible with the 1.3.01 BETA like some other scripts didn't work once 1.3 was installed.
Try reinstalling the script and the BETA.
if you have tried reinstalling both and it still does not work, it is most likely Cycrow has some tinkering to do with the script.
cheers

its possible its changes to the autopilot, so instead of flying at full speed all the time, it trys to match speed of the ship its following ?
i've not used the beta patch so i dont know what changes its made
and im not going to alter the script until the final patch is out, no point editing for a beta patch that could be changes and prevert any problems from occuring

Ok, I got the falcon sentinal in the Unknown sector quite a while ago but I just left it in my elephant for later use. So I decided to deck it out and tune it up, as it's horribly slow. But what's odd is it will cost like 3.5 mill for the first tune up?! Why so much? My nova only cost around 500k for the first, and my centaur was close to the same price as the falcon, and it's an m6? Was it ment to be that much?

I thought so too but that is not it...

I thought this as well at first but no that is not the case...
No matter what I lock onto whether a stationary object or moving object, as long as I do not use autopilot I can attain full overtuned speed.
But if I hit autopilot it drops the speed to about 1/3 of the max overtuned speed. Right now my Nova can do about 384 in speed but when I lock onto any object and use autopilot the speed drops to 63 every time. It does not matter what the object is as mentioned.. ship or station. It does this.
The 1.3.01 Beta patch has fixed some issues but I understand it may break a few things as well. If I knew more about how to script properly I would try to find the probably one little code line that is causing this.. but alas, I will have to wait it appears and not use autopilot.

it could be a bug, or an unfinished feature.
althou the overtune scripts doesn't do anything with autopilot, and just adds tunings to ur ships, so it sohuldn't make a difference
so theres obviosuly something else thats causing it, but u never know, it might just start working again when the final patch is out
