I'm fine with being ignored.

It means Egosoft isn't wasting any effort pandering to their fans, and all of that focus can go into making the actual game that much better. You can get as angry as you want at their silence thus far, but look at it like this:

If the game comes out great then you're still going to be a fan, regardless of their information policy pre-release. But if the game comes out badly, it won't matter how much they told you about their development process. You aren't going to be a fan anymore.

Huh...I don't feel angry. But whatever.

And won't even comment on the "pandering to their fans" line.

I, for one, want the game right now. I don't even care if it runs. I'll just take all the disassembled .dat files and a xrebirth.exe placed carefully in a folder named X Rebirth, packed tightly in another folder named Egosoft, burned nicely onto a generic CD. I'll even pay for shipping. If any of the devs want my address, I'll be happy to pm it.

When my dog is ignored, he walks away, only to come back when I call him. I do believe this will and has cost them customers, who have lost their intrested, but I guess the real fans will buy either way...

But in the mean while we have all read how this 'ignore-policy' has made a lot of people question Egosofts ability to actually make this game (good).

That just can't be wise. In my opinion it just ensures this game will have to be even better, as to overcome risen doubts. Ie instead of pre-order, I will watch some 'let's plays' and read some reviews first.


Hower, second part 'when the game comes out, and it's good, you will forget about being frustrated at the lack of info etc' well I guess that is true!

Will for sure not make the mistake of letting myself be hyped again by a X game ;p haha

Waiting for game sucks and this no information about anything almost doesn't make any sense too and it's not helping
But I'd rather wait for game until it's ready than get game like Fallout New Vegas you can't even play game for 10min without freezing and crashing And that game still is still is buggy and sucks after all patches ...
My point if they release game tomorrow and game is buggy to the point you cant play it,I would be more mad that all this waiting and no info crap and i would probably never purchase EGO's games again...

It's not the AP update, that wont be a separate app.

Judging from the list, it could be a few different things. But as always, hoping for something Rebirthy-ish.

Still havent gone trough half the plots in TC so thinking about doing that after goring tired of AP maybe...
