Sim108,

If the F302 was in your Vanilla save, when the converter ran, XTM didn't convert it properly.

You can try to apply the XTM "Plugin for the XTended-Mod v0.6->v0.7" and re-run the converter into a new XTM start. But I can't guarantee it will convert properly. This is a known problem with XTM and custom ships.

i see.. i just dont understand why XTM didnt do any thing about it... all they need to do is to make a simple program or script to add custom ship..

Sorry, but you can't blame XTM.

X3-Reunion has several hardcoded issues that XTM had to try to workaround in order to add new content. Sometimes they could find a fix, sometimes they couldn't.

ok. im not blaming them for anything.. they have done a fantastic job make, remake X3.. and yes, you cant really overwrite any hardcore programs.. but this is a great thing about programing. you can trick a program to do or not to do things... it just thinking of a way to do it...
eg. XTM could make a program or script and add custom ship (or scripts) from the PM... since the PM add scripts to X3 scripts folder, X3 read any scripts that are there, and so does XTM...


(tho i do remember one thing...when i had XTM.7a. i had custom ships add to the PM but i DIDNT add XTM script. i played it in a new XTM game and i could see custom ship (i couldnt buy it, since it was a new game). but when i add the XTM script and played it again.. my custom ships wasnt there.... only XTM ships..)

Can anyone extract few m0 ships from XTM (Argon Leviathan ,Terran Valhalla,..) ,please?
XTM doesn´t work for me so i be very grateful if anyone extract them as .xsp (for Cycrows mod manager).

And next question.
I don´t find it anywhere so what i need to build any ships on Argon Leviathan or Goner Aran?
I gave command to build but nothing happends.
What other I must do?

help with xtm scripting (can you reset all xtm missions or all missions.)

is it possible to reset missions using the script editor

i had to reinstall and i want to use my old save games (i've reinstalled everything to the same state as previous install) i was mid mission helping what i believe to be an xtm sohnen ship, the one that hails you as you approach it in maelstrom,
now i can no longer visit the sectors relating to the sohnen without the game crashing (maelstrom and the unknown sector adjacent and below)

i'm new to the scripting so well a newbie guide if its possible:P:P

thanks for any help (please don't tell me i have to restart) lol third time i'd have to because of some little messups on my part and playing around:D

1. Is there a way to convert vanilla saves to Xtended Mod?
2. Otherwise, is there a way to remove Xtended Mod besides reinstall all the game?

I'm not sure about converting saves to XTM.

As far as uninstalling XTM good luck. If you have xp you just have to delete all your x3 folders and reinstall. If you have vista good luck. I spent 4 hours trying get the thing off my computer. You have to delete all x3 folders then do a search and delete all hidden backup folders for x3 that vista automatically saves for you. If you don't XTM will always come back even though you thought you deleted all the files.

Search around the XTM website forum for more info on how to get rid of it on vista. It's really sad I wanted to try the XTM mod but I had bugs as soon as it loaded and then took forever to get rid of so don't think I'll be trying it again.

A few answers for several above:

1) Here's the XTM Index and FAQS links that should have most of the answers on ship stats/ship building and use of XTM software/equipment/ships. Those particular ships have some special materials requirements I seem to remember.

2) Not sure your meaning of "converting" Vanilla saves to XTM:

You definitely CANNOT load a Vanilla save in XTM. Only a new XTM start will allow all the new XTM content.

You CAN import your Vanilla empire "into" a new XTM start using the X3-X3Converter here:

You will retain money/ships/stations/Race Ranks. You will lose Trade and Fight ranks and have to re-explore any sector you didn't have a satellite or station in.


3) The only way to remove XTM as "JesterSig" said is remove every XTM script. BUT, even if that goes well, which may not, any game saved with XTM cannot be cleaned, so only new XTM starts or Old Vanilla savegames could be re-used.

Suggestion: Any major burps in a X3-XTM install are usually "bad installs". If you take the time to get a really "clean working" install, you can archive the entire X3-reunion folder and copy it back if you ever "tinker" and muck up your install. Then as long as your save games are up to date with what you've added to the game, they should load back up as long as they are not corrupted themselves. Remember, if you saved at a crash point, that save will always load that crash "issue" back in again.

XTM bug - game crashes on startup??

Hello,
I installed X3R, all patches up to 2.5, the bonus 3.1.07, then XTM. At first I tried the simulation to get used to it and completed the first section, then logged off. When I restarted the game, it now crashes and sends me back to the desktop due to some unkown problem. I've tried running the simulation again and starting a normal game selection. Both have the same crash problem. Any ideas how to get this working?? Thanks.

btw, I have 4 gig ram, dual core, dual 256mb nvidia SLI, running on Vista. Also, am using the default graphics settings. No other mods installed only what was mentioned above.

Terran Gate networks

i'm having trouble with the terran gates,

i get an error and the game closes everytime i attempt to use one,

my remote ships have no troubles this is a player only problem,

any ideas? Or has someone encountered a similar problem?

By "use them" you mean, fly through them?

Is it with any gate? It sounds more like you want to get into a specific sector, where something else is, that makes your game crash.

7.5 or 7.4?

Loaded X-3, Bonus pack, XTM 7.5 all from scratch as listed in guide.
Seems to work great, do a version test, it say's 7.5 OK, but start-up screen shows 7.4.
Is this normal?

Aran - Stuck on Buildship command

I've had this command working OK (already built 4 Ospreys) until I put a "repair fighters" command in the other slot. The Osprey currently being built is now stuck on 1% build but won't move on. Can't remove it and does not appear in queue. Tried queueing other ships but nothing happens. In other words I can't restart it building and I can't build other ships. Can anyone help? How do I get rid of this?

I'm very happy that I found XTM, and I gonna use it in my first X3 game.

But it is one thing i really miss, and that is a full list of features in the mod. I know that many popular scripts or similar function is in this mod, but I don’t know which.

I don't want to end up installing a lot of scripts with the same function the XTM have, only to resulting in problems.

So my dear fellow X3 gamers, what kind of goody stuff is it in XTM that the untrained eye doesn’t see? 8)

New Turrett Commands - How do they work?

Set Turrets Anti Capital : PPCs loaded into all bays - OK so far.
Set Turrets Anti Fighter: Nothing changes - what is this command supposed to do?
Set Turrets Strategic Retreat: Never tried this one. Can't see it doing anything I would not want to do manually. Can any one tell me what it does?

Hey guys, has anybody come across this?......Been playin X3 for ages. Tried most of the Mods/scripts that are out there. Keep comin back to my XTM save game. I have multi Mod games that i just switch between at start up. The problem is ive started a new XTM game as the Split and i noticed that on the Split Panther the turrets don't fire. I jumped into the Dragon MKII and the same thing has happened. When in battle i command the turrets to "attack all enemies" nothing happens! However i jumped into Split Python which is a vanilla ship and that was working. I think there is something wrong with the XTM ships. I tried a Xenon Q (what a great ship) that happened to come into the sector i was in. Its front turrets worked but nothing else. Anybody got any advice?

Maybe you have to reinstall the mod? I'm not sure. If those ships are ingame, they should be working. There shouldn't be a problem with the updates, as you started a new game...
