Previous Versions Of?garrry34 wrote:can I just install this over the previous version or is there any prep I need to do before installing?
If Previous version of IR:CE then yes - just run the re installer after
If Previous version is not IR:CE (Original IR), then ensure you clean the universe first

i jumped into grand exchange and found this epic battle between a xenon Z and K against some teladi M1/M2, i was using a scimitar so all i could do was take some pics, to show what IR can do.
(by the way i didnt know that IR ships also offer "xenon invasion missions")

and here are some pics i have taken in zyarth's dominion while doing the terran plot... i had to clear the sector to complete the mission.
i wonder if there is a bug that prevents the xenon from taking over zyarth's dominion, because that amount of ships is absolutely unstoppable and even though there were no split ships/stations in the sector they still didnt take it.

The Xenon LOVE Zyarth's Dominion. I've noticed that (and saved it from them) on a number of occasions too. :3
But I've never seen it change hands. That said, they've never actually managed to totally clear the sector in any of my games - there's always traffic running through it, or a Teladi TL hiding up in the north taunting them.
It's great.
Oh, Jack (and Trixx): I dropped a few minor suggestions in the main IR thread that you might find interesting, or just pointless drivel. I figure that any changes to IR will flow into here eventually, so I'll leave it at that.
I do really, really want to see an option to stop the AI building stuff in random places in my sectors, though (usually a 100km from the center).
That's the only part of IR that bugs me... but it's trivial.

you can disable plot protectionnavetta wrote:well it could be possible that the xenons cant claim it due to the sector being plot related. its sad because it stops the xenons from invading the rest of the universe...
also if there are any enemy capital ships in the sector then it wont be claimed, same with stations
the xenon can sometimes take there sweet time taking a sector.. remember, they don't care about time the same way we do...

... on the bright side, got a nice view of the hub from the outside...

I'm finding it hard to track assault forces. I'm friends with the Terran's but the ATF assault fleets only show up sometimes (Alliance Network), and even then only for a few minutes. I also found out that if the leader of an assault force is destroyed or has bailed, the listing in the alliance network removes itself. However, only the leader was killed, the rest of the assault force remains but since no new leader is designated, the listing removes itself.
There was also some confusion once when a huge fleet of about 175 ATF ships laid waste to each and every sector that was hostile all the way from 'The Moon" to "Nopelio's Memorial". Only part of the ships were supposed to be headed there. The rest were either supposed to go to Xenon sector 695, 598, and etc. I have no idea why they decided to follow each other. They would also sometimes stop in the middle of a sector and do nothing, until I went IS and the collision system took over. Do ATF counterstrikes increase in proportion to how many sectors have been taken over by the Xenon?

I hope this makes pirates better...cause at the moment they seem to keep disappearing from the universe (most noticeably in the area between Elena's Fortune and Aladna Hill, which I thought might have been due to the Xenon, but they won't even leave Nopelios' Memorial)Jack08 wrote:[TEASER]

Unless there is some magic setting that I didnt do right

I take pleasure from destroying the "evil" factions, and if they are wiped out before I get to have my way with them it kinda takes the fun out of it xD

Hey there. I have a little question. I started to use http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=293486 this little sector colour changer. It says to add
to the sector take over script. May i ask where i have to add these lines? Because i would love to see the colours dynamicly(is it written this way?)

Code: Select all
$null = null
START $null->call script 'plugin.dynamic.colored.sector.names' : sector=$sector

OK, I know something funny is going on with the ATF. Their assault forces never reach their destination because IR destroys them shortly after their creation. They are also going the wrong way. An assault force to 472 completely passes it and continues into 'Nathan's Voyage'. Then for some reason they turn around and head into 'Black Hole Sun' but when they all have crossed the gate, in a matter of seconds the fleet is 'deleted'. No destroyed by local forces, they just vanish.
Could this have something to do with the plot protected sectors? I have 'Plot Protection' off.
EDIT 1: I'm also getting random spawning Xenon ships under my control in the HUB sector that are homebased to the Xenon Hub.
