u could add new turrets, sorta


well, adding turrets to the same place as existing ones :P

there are no existing turrets :P

i used the real thor from the ship creator mod file to make my modded thor
About the name - i was lost for a name on the forum and looking round, then a Bob Hope film came on, and i thought "that will do nicely"

i was born and raised argumentative i dont mean to offend ...... sorry

Hi Cycrow: I'm using Roguey's mod without the EMP and can install ships and everything was ok. But i want to use some scripts that need EMP so I install it trhougt your script installer. The game crash after custom game loading. Test loading the mod only and have no crashes. So the ship mod created by the ship installer is no compatible with the EMP false pacth?

was the crash when loading a saved game, or before you got to the main menu ?

if its when u load a saved game, its most likly that the current mod doesn't have things that your saved game has, have you made sure you selected the basse mod and that it copied properly ?

Is with a new game and is in the custom game that has no story.

sounds like an invalid data error.

have u tryed setting the base mod as a fake patch, its one of the options in the installer.

it could be that its not copied the files from the base mod correctly

Ok, if I put the base mode as a fake patch, which mod I put as a base mod for the installer?

Hy, sorry for bothering... Maybe you've already heard that 100 times...

I've just downloaded ship installer and some ships from Tensin's site, all is at the latest version.
I've installed the xsp's with the installer, selecting IMP's cockpit mod as the base mod: I've noticed the new 'installship' mod file in the rigth folder...
Then I've loaded my latest save in X3 selecting that 'installship' as the current mod, but... No ship: I'm expecting to find them at the right shipyards (like ST BoP in Paranid's SY), but they aren't there.
Guess I'm missing something... :)
Do I have to start a new custom game to use those ship?

so u shouldn't need to start a new game. But one thing you can do, is use the cheat scripts and goto the create ship option, all ships in the game will appear in this list including the custom ones u have added, if they are not there, then they havn't been added to your game, to fix it check that u have selected the shipcreator mod in the X3 Startup or try reinstalling the ships, and making sure you let the program close before starting the game, when u close the program is when it actually creates the main files that are required

Can someone help me?i've read the whole post and frankly didn't find any answere. I use DDRS mode and i've also installed some BSG ships. In the shipinstaller menu i've selected DDRS mode as base and in x3 launch menu i've selected shipcreator.All fine and well.But if i start the game then all big ships (argon one, colosses etc) are invisible!!!!I did check via cheatscript that BSG ships are in game...but invisibility thingy really kills the mood.

please help as I am a noob in this sort of things

does that include all the standard ones, or just the ones from DDRS ?

as far as I've noticed,the standard ships were invisible and very strange that only the big ones,TL and M2 (also argone one)

I am sorry to bring ill news, but I have found 3 problems with this, I'm afraid.

Ship Manager - altering the ships' Races:

1) There's no way of setting a ship's Race to Player. I wanted to be able to have some ships(having cheat-spawned and Reverse Engineered them) which no other Race can use. Not a HUGE problem, as I can alter these few ships' Races(to Player) in X3Mod Manager, but it would be nice not to have to.

2) Selecting "Terran" as Race doesn't work. For some reason, these ships were assigned to "Race3" when I looked at them in Mod Manager.


Invisibility:

Yes, I'm afraid I too have this problem. Noticed it just now on a Ship-installed Valkyrie, which was fine last night.

What I'd done was this:

DL'd the Valk and set its Race to Terran. Then installed it(and others) into XFP_V0.3.4.3, which I use as a Base Mod. Copied Ship Creator and renamed it XFP_V0.3.4.3b(2007-02-09).

Ship was fine, as were the others I looked at.

This morning I put some more ships in. Used XFP_V0.3.4.3b(2007-02-09) as my Base Mod, and then installed the new ships. Copied the NEW Ship Creator and renamed the copy to XFP_V0.3.4.3b(2007-02-09)_2.

Now, at this point I wanted to upgrade the shields on th ISD - to 2 10GJ instead of 7 1GJ. So, I loaded my XFP_V0.3.4.3b(2007-02-09)_2 into X3Mod Manager(because rebalancing the .xsp file wouldn't alter the Mod), and it's here that I noticed the Terran custom ships(includind Valk of course) were all set to "Race3".

So, as well as updating the ISD's shields, I went through the "Race3" ships and made them "Terran". Saved the Mod.

Ran the game and all seemed fine. My ISD was there and so were my f302s. I then launched my fighter wing to deal with some Kha'ak...

...but my Valkyrie was invisible, apart from its two guns.

I spawned another with my cheat script, so as to test it, and that one too was invisible. Even its guns were.

Any idea why?

Possibly too large.

MY .dat file is more than 96MB. My email limit is 1MB. My guess would be that this is the problem.

its prolly paranoid, just zip the files up into .zip or .rar or something like that and it should send fine
