adding Xenon ships to battle group
Does CODEA allow Xenon ships to be added to their respectable groups? I cannot add the Q to frigs and the P to Corvettes.
What's the matter Colonel....Chicken???

Hi guys,
I have a doubt to be clarified; after patch 2.0 for AP and the installation of the Bonus Package, I wanted to install CODEA and libraries from Lucike.
The last package I found here
http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=
contains Libraries V3700, Basic Salary V3103, Military Transport V3300 and CODEA V3307.
Looking at Libraries (08 January 2012) I noticed that some files have smaller size than those obtained with the Bonus Package, and then I wondered if overwriting all problems can arise with other scripts from Bonus Package
Suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Shouldn't though if you're installing the other stuff, the collection also includes later versions of CLS and CAG, which you should install over the BP versions.

Hi Triaxx2,
I followed your advice and work as follows:
I uninstalled and reinstalled (for safety) the Bonus Package excluding scripts from Lucike;
Then I installed the corresponding scripts of BP from the Collection with the addition of CODEA and accessories scripts; only one thing.... through the X3 Editor 2 I noticed that in the commands list appearing, as two different versions, the BP commands and those from the Collection (because of the one text file to all scripts of BP I think); however I believe that on ships will be available only those loaded by the setup scripts from the Collection (at least I hope so

Anyway thanks for the tip!

If he started as a rookie, it takes two more hours to reach commander. if not, it should take the same amount of time.

I think what he's getting at is that pilots are supposed to have X amount of hours total time in the cockpit to qualify for a certain rank. Is it still two hours if I hire a Lieutenant and stick him in a Corvette? Or does he need the full time as if I'd raised him from a rookie?
Don't forget that they can only raise ranks if they land at a station.

It's always the full total amount of flying time for a rank. It's not faster to train a hired Lt. than a hired recruit to higher ranks. They need both the same time.Triaxx2 wrote:Is it still two hours if I hire a Lieutenant and stick him in a Corvette? Or does he need the full time as if I'd raised him from a rookie.

All pilots are only capable of piloting certain ships, so anything lower than LT can only be placed in the cockpit of M3/M4/M5 ships. A rookie put into an M5 needs two hours flight time (not service time) to gain the next ranks. This resets the counter to another two hours and so on until he reaches LT.
LT is needed to fly M6 classes and needs two hours flight time to reach CMD.
CMD can go into M7/M2/M1 classes and needs two hours flight time to reach CP. AT this stage you make them admiral yourself.

Okay, I don't think I'm making myself clear.
I mean, according to the list of ranks, a Lieutenant requires 6 hours of total flight time, while a Commander requires 8. So I only require 2 hours further from a hired lieutenant and not a full 8 hours?

Me again, this time on for the question correct thread.
I just stole my first carrier (Argon One - yeah, I know, unoriginal), but when I install this script and then run a savegame the game freezes immediately after it loads, with the sound looping every few seconds. Is CODEA supposed to be used with a fresh start or something?
I have the newest libraries and using other Lucikes' scripts like MT, PT, CAG, etc.
Thanks!

Thank you for your reply!Saetan wrote:Hello Sturmer
Sry for this late answer, but no ... you don't need a fresh savegame for CODEA ... any existing savegame should be fine. Did you install the CODEA script alone, or did you install any other mods too?
At that time I was installing only CODEA, but the current game already has quite a few scripts and mods installed, some of them Lucikes', and they all work great. I tried installing CODEA while I was in a fighter docked at my complex and then when undocked. It froze, but the looping, if it exists, isn't noticable.
Then deleted CODEA, started a save, transferred to my Argon One and tried both versions again. This time, when CODEA was supposed to start while I was on a carrier and it freezes the looping of sound is quite noticable. Waited for up to a minute if maybe the script takes a long time to start, but nothing. Then exited with alt-ctrl-del and in the task manager it said that "x3tc.exe not responding".
I don't have any clue why it does that as on my previous playthrough when I had it installed, everything worked fine. I intended to install it when I reinstalled the game for this playthrough and have honestly no idea how I could've forgotten. Even though this is the first time I actually went about building fighter wings and getting a carrier to patrol the sectors I'm active in, I always had CODEA and all other Lucike's scripts installed before and never any problem.
The best I figure is that some other script or mod is suddenly allergic to CODEA. Strangely enough, even though I followed all the rules when installing scripts and mods, this playthrough has proven buggy and only in the last 1-2 days - like missing Gates, inaccessible sectors, sectors dark as night... I have a very nice bunch of credits and many assets, plus started from scratch last week (3rd time in a month because of problems), so I'm hesitant to start all over again.
I'll try reinstalling all other Lucikes' scripts again (like dock and ware managers, etc.), will see if it helps.

I just can say, that CODEA should be running without any problems or freezes after installing, even from an existing savegame. Sorry, I can't be of more help. I also don't know with which kind of script or mod it should be conflicting, to cause such freezes.
But maybe Lucike has a clue, best to ask him in his own forum, if nobody else can solve that problem.
