Sounds like something isn't working. Did you rename the Jobs file to 'Jobs.txt'? Is there a Jobs.pck file in the types folder?Puruco wrote:Yes, Im using "jobs-NoCivs-ReunionNaming.txt". Ok, I will give them time to see if they disappear. Also if Im starting a new game, is normal to give them time to disappear?
Thank you vkerinav.

I have in types folder a "Jobs.txt" and "Jobswings" but no jobs.pck. Maybe that is the problem. How i get the .pck file?vkerinav wrote:Sounds like something isn't working. Thank you vkerinav.
The way I install the file is, I drag the "Jobwings" file from the downloaded folder to types folder. The same thing with the "Jobs" file but in the type folder I rename the "Jobs" file adding the .txt.

The results will depend on how much cargo space the shields take up, compared with the cargo size of the selected weapon, in addition to the cargo space the ship has been upgraded to... all in all there are too many variables to be absolutely definitive.Varek Raith wrote:The ships are a new class added by the SRM called an M5 Explorer. They are just the M5s loaded with a triplex and explorer software and are faster. This seems to mainly effect the Argon and Paranid. I don't recall seeing any other races explorers stalled.
Here are their cargo sizes. min/max cargo.Code: Select all
Discoverer Explorer 15/60 Medium Octopus Explorer 20/34 Medium Pegasus Explorer 5/22 Medium Jaguar Explorer 9/27 Medium Harrier Explorer 36/115 Medium Rapier Explorer 10/50 Medium Fujin Explorer 5/30 Medium Valkyrie Explorer 15/65 Medium
What would help is to know the shield capacities and weapon compatabilities for these ships.
I have produced my first alpha release (obsolete) of the EES Configuration Tool which currently just allows you to view the configuration in a little more user friendly way. I have plans to provide editing facilities, but I am currently working out the details. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.

Based on this I am at a loss - 1 MJ shields and IRE lasers only take up a single unit of cargo each. So even with minimum cargo capacity and maximum shields each of these should have at least 1 laser spawned. As the issue only seems to affect Argon and Paranid explorers, I would *guess* that there is something weird about their EES configurations.Varek Raith wrote:Code: Select all

At a glance, nothing appears to be wrong. I'll check the ships in game when I get the chance. I'd also like to know if other Disco/Pegasus variants spawn weapons or not.Roger L.S. Griffiths wrote:I would *guess* that there is something weird about their EES configurations.
I'll check out your tool, as well. Wrong OS, at the moment.

There shouldn't be a Jobs.pck file. I asked because its the only thing that will override a Jobs.txt.Puruco wrote:I have in types folder a "Jobs.txt" and "Jobswings" but no jobs.pck. Maybe that is the problem. How i get the .pck file?

Can you confirm that you're seeing the AI flying non-vanilla ships?

You should have 2 new files in your XTC Types folder for it to work correctly....they should read exactly as below
Jobs
Jobwings
Now this is important, it should not be.......
Jobs.txt
Jobwings
I only know this as im an idiot and did the above and typed .txt after Jobs to find excatly the same issue ......... although to be fair the instructions at the start of the thread do tell you to do that.......

To be clear: the actual filenames should be "Jobs.txt" and "Jobwings.txt" because they are both, in fact, text files. Depending on your display settings in Windows, you may have file extensions hidden, in which case the filenames will appear to be "Jobs" and "Jobwings" because the ".txt" is hidden from you. If this is the case, then renaming the file so it appears to be "Jobs.txt" will cause the true filename to be "Jobs.txt.txt" and the game will no longer recognize it. Similarly, if your display settings do not hide file extensions, then renaming the file to "Jobs" is also incorrect, because the game will not recognize it. That's something you're going to have to figure out for yourself because the installation instructions can't be tailored to your particular combination of display settings. If you don't know how to tell the full name of a file, then you should probably learn these basic computer skills before attempting to mod a game.Sn4kemaster wrote:I think i know whats the problemn is.......

Do you notice a similar lack of weapons on any other ships/turrets that can only equip one weapon type?vkerinav wrote:On the IRE--I took a look around, and it isn't just the Explorers. OK, i was doing some testing and HotSake was rigth. I unchek hide extension in foldes options and now both jobs file work perfectly. In this case (unchek hide extensions) both jobs files have to show ".txt".
Also not related to this srm jobs post but mentioning for information purpose only. I have to start a new game without the jobs files because the "all plots completed" script, for some unknow reason dont give the money for the last mission. I just start without the jobs took the money save and reload with the jobs file. Offcourse I get a lot of nameless ship but run the script for that and fix it. Now Im giving time to see if the new ships appears, but got no more civ ships. TYVM all for the help.

I checked the only ship I could think of that meets that qualification, Terran freighters. They're fully equipped. Its only IREs that don't spawn.Roger L.S. I also checked the Kha'ak. AKE spawn properly on all scouts.

Re: [Jobs + Script] SRM[3/3] and Xtra Jobs[19/01], Enhanced Equipment Spawner[11/1]
(Obsolete) EES Configuration Tool v1.0 (release notes)
This version is nearly fully functional, just some additional nice to have functionality to make it easier to create multiple lists that are identical or similar to each other.
If you wish to use the output configuration files with the current release of EES then you will need to back-port the EES Configuration file using v0.2 (Import it then Export it again).
Please feel free to provide any appropriate feedback.

Use the SRM jobs fileif you're using the SRM. The one in the EES is a vanilla jobs file modified to work with EES.Sinnerman264 wrote:What do you mean by "both"? We can only use one Jobs.txt file and since there are two supplied in OP, I believe it can cause some confusion.JrK wrote:Both, they work together afaik. Use the jobs files from the SRM zip.
Should we use just the SRM one? (248Kb compared to 200 from EES)
