hi, i've recently installed this mod along with Lucike's collection and the extended mod for TC. I'm having problems adding M8s into my M1 carrier. I've had no problem adding all the other ships at all. I know this question has been asked before but non of the comments are helping and i can't seem to figure out where i've gone wrong.

I've got a Viper with Cargo Lifesupport, Docking CPU, Nav Mk 1, Fight Mk1 & 2 installed and ordered it to follow my M1 Raptor. Then i assigned a LT as a pilot via the personnel administraion to my Viper. My Raptor has a mechanic and a technician as cargo as required but when i open up my bomber hanger the viper doesnt get registered in the main hanger. Any ideas?

How long have the tech+mech been inside the bomber b4 u tried? because i think it takes about an hour game time for them to set up

Edited* Hmm it doesnt seem to be the problem. I've waited for an hour ingame time but it still doesnt register in the main hanger.

Is a high rank pilot (above Lt.) lets say Captain performing better in a fighter then Lt.? Is there any point in training pilots in bigger ships and putting them back to fighters?

Well, just to be sure ya might wanna double check that the bombers have the rest of the required equipment (i have forgot the odd piece a few times with some ships, it happens :P) Also i donno if ur bombers have any weps on them but might be worth a try if u dont, also doulble check ur carrier has a transporter device

I dont think it would make any difference, seeing pilots skills only increase upto the rank of LT, the only difference between commander/Captain seems to be the ability to pilot larger ships (Not 100% sure but thats just my assumption)

The lieutenant has at least 6 stazuras of flight experience. He is a master of fighter maneuverability and thruster control. A lieutenant is able to command ships of the bomber, corvette or tender class. The Lieutenant earns 35 credits per mizura flown.

As stated the LT is the dogs bollocks when it comes to fighters :)[/b]

I don't know if pilots ranked higher than Lieutenant have additional improvements. They may have, they may have not.

Just try it, place for example a Lieutenant and a Captain into the same ship and compare the data for speed or manouverability of this ship. Then you'll see if higher than Lieutenant ranked pilots have additional improvements.

Still no luck with the bombers. My 4 Vipers all has got a HEPT installed in the rear turret while my Raptor has a transporter device. I've got 14 tech (6 for MEFOS) and 8 mech onboard my Raptor so i think the problem doesnt lies with them. I've had no problem adding them to ships of the commodore section though.

One last thing, does a carrier require a pilot? coz mine has no pilot onboard.

No, CODEA itself doesn't requiere the carrier to be piloted ...


You could use the "Analysis to Log"-feature, maybe a log helps to clear it out. It's in your CODEA command menu, the log itself is found afterwards in a textfile just beneath your savegame-directory.

Exception to the no pilot rule: Accompanying carriers, controlled by the CODEA on a primary carrier do need pilots. And M7's under the same situation do even if they're also running CODEA.

So a Panther on it's own doesn't, but a Panther running as an M7 escort to a Raptor would.

Thanks for clarifying the carrier issue. As for my bombers, i bought them fresh from the shipyard with nothing but the required softwares, not even engine tuning or shields. The Fight MK1 is built-in into the ship so i guess thats considered installed.

Under the Vipers it says tech and mech not onboard. So the mech+tech needs to be on the bomber instead of the carrier?


Edited* Thanks all for your help, think i solved the problem. I placed a pair of mech and tech on each of my vipers, leaving 4 pairs onboard my raptor and let SETA run for 1 hour. The vipers gets registered in my bomber hanger after that but now im still confuse as to where the mech and tech pair should be. I'm guessing its on the bombers.

Correct, a pair of them needs to be on each bomber. As in the manual shown, they are listed for the bomber class and not as requirement for the CODEA carrier itself. Glad it works for you now.

They do have to be armed and shielded before CODEA will pick them up.

I did some testing and confirmed that promoting above Lieutenant doesn't get you any gain statistic-wise.

Is there anyway to order my codea carrier to attack a specific target, expecially if it's a friendly. I'm trying a game as a pirate, captaining a caravel.

Just set that race as a foe and blow them up, onbce they r hostile ur fighters should attack them

Right, I thought about that, but it seems awkward. It would feel much more captainy if I could order a direct strike against a specific ship, say with my attack wing.
