I never meant The GOLD as it's construction material .. lol.
It's the colour scheme/ fleet colours.

I have plans for a whole fleet. Just started on some drawings for GoldHeart's Escort M2.

I can always release some other colours for you to choose and mix.

As a mobile base ship, I think it is fantastic. The storage capacity helps keep supplies in place for fighters and larger ships. Though I will admit that when I look at the number of docks, how many ships can be held and the cargo bay size, I expect the ship to be a bit longer, or wider, but as it stands now, it fits through gates so that is not a complaint :>

I'm not sold on the name, I think Goldheart is a wee bit light for a ship like this, Morholt or something more ominous would be my preference, but as your the designer, the name is yours to pick :>

I've only got two issues with it:

1. When attempting to dock 20 or so TS's, they do a queue dance, and don't really seem to progress much further because one ship queuing, seems to knock another out of alignment for the dock itself - so it ends up re-queuing. In addition, they all seem to want to use the same dock within the available bays for the standard dock, meaning that they all use K2, or all use K1, they don't seem to spread evenly between K1-K3..

I also had two instances where the docking ship lost its right to dock and blew up, due to the proximity of the ship being partway into the docking procedure.

The ship in question for, both issues, is the OTAS Mistral Super Freighter XL, as I like to use them for my CAG/CLS ships, so I tend to go out and grab 20 at a time. I have not tried with other variants, nor with a combined TS and M3-M5's docking all at once.

2. I know it is a carrier/mobile base, but it seems a little light on top/bottom and front/back turrets, everything is left/right... perfect for broadsides, but as point defense turrets, they can't hit anything coming from front/back or top/bottom.

But, as a broad-side combined with MARS... I jumped into a Xenon Sector and landed smack into the middle of a capital swarm, and even the Xenon K's were almost insta popped.

As an aside question, how many turrets are there total?

only 2 things id tweak

forward launch bays, I keep running over my fighters and corvettes

and

Another thing I thought of, would be for the ships description in-game. Add details about what types of ships can dock, and how many of each class (I know that 480 or so can dock, but a break down would be cool, if there is a limit on specific types). At the very least, indicate what each dock can handle, as that may not be known by newer players (or by - like me - casual players).

Provided that enough room is available within a ships description to be able to do so.

UrbzTech.inc is known for its technological advances in the universe, its no surprise that our ships can hold so much with its compression technology.

I meant it more as a protector.. UrbzTech.inc doesn't have the right to go around killing stuff due to the treaties we have as our researchers come from all the different races. The abstract for my Cadillac explains some of it (:

Try keeping GoldHeart at 20m/s .. It gives them more dancing space ~

That's all its meant to be ~ As mentioned above, its more of a protector who stays close to its fleet, no point having its big guns pointing at its own fleet yea ? why not point it all at the enemy xD

Don't worry about it, i have another M2 coming up as Escort for GoldHeart.. with all the guns spread for 360 point defense.

Yea the ship's text file inclusive of the name and description is coming up in the next release ~ Jack08 Helped with it, as i'm no scripter (:


Edit: my idea on my storage system for those dockees goes like this..
The pilot and ship enters the dock ~ pilot gets out of his ship ~ ship gets taken by robots to the hanger, and ZAP ship becomes a tiny cube for later retrieval ~ haha

Can you refuel /restock ammo /do maintenance things on this cube?

I think you can compress a mechanic along with the ship, just like what jimmy neutron's Infinity Cube when Cindy got sucked into it.

Somewhere in the last couple of weeks I stopped getting notifications on this thread, even though it said I was still getting them. I've reset it, so hopefully it will start again.

Nice to see its so far along.

When you stop tweaking it and adding things, I'll start playing with it. :)

The docking issues sound like a real problem. Having the ship needing to be moving isnt an option in some sectors. Sounds like some of the docks have real problems that need attention. And if the ships cant line up for an orderly docking, there must be something wrong somewhere, as I dont beleive thats normal.

Seriously, for people who like large fleets, docking 50 of the same type of ship at the same time, is a requirement. And it cant take all day. Or need you to go OOS to get it done.

I've docked 50 over centaurs and discovers before with the ship moving at 20m/s ~ not even one died from head concussion ~
The reason why ships have problem lining up is due to its approach angle relative to the ship. The further away the approach from the rear the higher the chance of your dockees killed by collision. This problem is also present with other ships, just that most of their docks are aligned at their broadsides.

The distance it starts to dock also has an impact. The further the better.

I'm not overly concerned about how many ships you add, just that this one is complete before I add it into my game.

Others I'll look at as they too are completed.

Fleet wise, complete the M0 first, then run amok to your hearts content. :D
