I've got a lot, any that can be installed via the plugin manager have been done so in that manner, here's what I'm currently using:

So far all the other mods/scripts have performed flawlessly. Certain aspects of DMA function perfectly (like the increase engine speed, increase race relations, buy sector, research blueprints, specialist stations) its just the items I'm most looking forward to are the ones that seem to be failing from the emp :shock:

looks to me like the new emp is not recognised by dma, if it wasn't for the fact im getting an error running the exe i'd tell you if the old version was ok on swapping

anybody know why i'm getting file not found 'x3config' on running the exe?

Formatted my laptop this weekend and switched OS's. I'll be doing a clean install of X3TC, specifically for the EMP and LV libraries, should I use the exe installer or manually put all the files into the proper folders? Hopefully the problem will resolve itself after the install.

I know im a week old with this post for Azalyn, but heres something ive noticed with your problem with blank items. If i have emp as a early cab file, my items go blank, if i keep it towards the end, it will work.

10 = low poly roids
11 = signal boost
12 = Different starts
13 = SRM
14 = No Civil
15 = Missle Redone Mod
16 = pc0s cockpit
17 = X2 Ships
18 = EMP

Thost are my cab files with what they are. I had EMP as #12 on the list with my starts as #18. All my emp items were blank. I switched them around and everything is fine in game.

interesting, i updated to 2.5 and only have emp as a FP and it works fine, if this can be confirmed as a solution i'll alter the advice, in addition i may have to write emp as alplugin to cater for the wares reverting to ZA_~

2.5 didn't have a new Twares, so the EMP should be compatible. Did Cycrow's Plugin Manager create any new CAT/DAT pairs(if you were using it)?

Ive always used the rar/zip/fp version myself. I have always remembered emp being a bit finicky back in the x3R day's. Alteast it has for me.

I did try useing the spk one at one time in my weekly reinstall's and i think that is where i had the moment of sobriety and traced it down to location location location (for me atleast).


I think i had problems with JDK alot when it came out, and it wasnt untill i started useing EMP at the end or towards the end of my fp list, that it started working fine for me.

@Azalyn sorry for the late reply, on a clean install everything shows up in the EMP, so it must be some mod (if any) else you have installed.

@everyone else, if you are using another mod that also edits the TwareT file, then it should to go after the EMP, otherwise the edited TwareT entries the mod uses will revert to the original settings.

Thats what i thought. Hmm, im wonder why it is going blank then for me.
Because #13 and #15 on my list there do change the TwareT if i remember corectly. Ill have to install a editor (new OS and X3 install as of this morning) and poke around in a few day's when i have more time and am awake.

Thanks for looking into this, its baffled me ever since it cropped up. As I'll be doing the clean install and from what you've mentioned, as long as EMP is the first mod installed everything should be ok then?

This is beginning to frustrate me to no end, I've tried every possible way to install the emp and get the dma to work.

emp fake patch->lv library->dma = Failed
emp plugin->lv library->dma = Failed
emp script copy->lv library->dma = Failed

And tried the same 3 ways backwards, all 6 ways same result, jump drive generator/shield generator does not show up at the dma HQ :evil:

The jump drive does show up in the hotkey configuration menu:

I'm not sure if I'm going about the process wrong or what? I can open the dma menu to build a research station but it doesn't seem to be very helpful:

From what I could gather in your post on the dma the generator is stored in the HQ, you can then purchase one and then install it into a research station, is that the proper process or do I need to have a research station before I install the generator or start the research?

try installing the EMP as the last patch, i've re-installed and it's running fine for me

what do you mean by jumpdrive does not show

(this should also be posted in the dma thread so i'll merge it later!)

After (literally) hours of troubleshooting I finally found the problem: Loky's Advanced Quantum Hyperdrive mod is not compatible with the EMP library. Whether the EMP is installed before or after applying the mod into the plugin manager is seems to nuke the TWares file somehow as best as I can figure.

Now all the extra parts from the EMP and DMA are showing up properly :wink:

First of all I am not totally shure I am in the right thread since I got a few mods installed and I am not shure witch one is causing the problem.

When I go in my own equipment dock there is something called ***UNDEFINED*** 10/10 and cost 26952

In any NPC equipment dock there are a few with incorrect names:

You don't need to install the EMP mod with the new plugin manager as it will make the EMP entries automatically. Having the EMP with the new plugin manager can cause the problem you are describing

I tried that and the exact same behavior happens, both in my own station and the NPC stations.

for anybody experiencing the text going back to ZA_ ingame please try deleting emp and downloading the old version


I've done this last few days and have had no changes

the only possible issue may be Pelador's drones which may have used some of the new wares

It's pre 2.5 afaik but seems ok

This is a test request not an imperial dictat ;)

make sure to delete the old setup.emp (or init.emp)
