The last update was 2 weeks ago, but there is at least one person working on a Whitestar ( http://forum2.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=140802 )
Some more I haven't seen including "big gassy sphere", MonCal Cruiser, and what I think is the Fluid-space ship from Voyager:
http://forum2.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=141017
I'm also likely to be borrowing a lot from the Fusion Project ( http://www.x3.xperiment.co.uk/Ashley/ ). They have balanced a good number of Balgots ships, and I think have working versions of several I'm having problems with (if anyone can verify this on a per-ship basis (like the A-Wing or the X-Wing) then I'll switch out mine for the XFP version).

Tensin. I have updated Cycrows Ship Installer to 1.5, and went to the Ship Autoupdater function (which is well fantastic btw) and out of the 20 ships that I have installed into my base Mod, only 10 showed up for checcking for newer versions - does that mean the other 10 that weren't on the list aren't there as they are not available as 'Rebalanced' ships at the moment? I know that the Neb B is because like you mentioned above it has been done manually bit I wondered about the other 9.
EDIT -Oh also nticed that out of the 10 ships that DO show up in the autoupdate list some of them cant autoupdate as its stating 'Not Found' from the link. And all of my ships are from your website Tensin
Cheers Laddo

Problems with: Colonial Battlestar (new)
1. Body of ship is not inline with the Ship box. (When you target this ship, the box outlining it is offset a considerable amount).
2. Main view is not aligned with the ship (its back about 2 ship lengths and to the left).
3. Turret views do not work and neither do the weapons.
Beautiful model of the ship though. I can hardly wait until you get this puppy fixed.. I have been waiting for it for.. EVER!! LoL
PS: Argon Titan from X2 would also be a welcome addition to your xsp files.
PSS: Can I recommend one thing to you about the new series BSG?
Make it 1.5-2 times the size it is currently (if possible). That way it would look more inline with the rest of the ships in the X-universe. It is afterall a huge ship!

@Dread
Many of the ship XSPs were made before 1.4 (when the auto-updating feature came in). I'm in the process of bringing everything up to 1.5 now. If it's not whowing up in the list at all then the XSP is from a pre-1.4 version of the creator. In most cases, there's a >1.4 version up (which would require that you manually DL it and install it), but in some cases there still are not. The way to tell if a version is >1.4 is to see if there's an associated .dat file.
"File not found" means one of two tihngs. Either I made an error in putting in the web-address (I think I've found and fixed all of those, but could be wrong) or the name of the ship changed. A few days into starting this project, I did normalize the ship names.
For example, There used to be
Cylon Raider MkI
and Cylon MK 2.
They now "Cylon Mk 1" and "Cylon Mk 2". Unfortunately, the .dat is named for the shipname, not the filename and so some of them broke. I'm more careful in my initial versions so this should not continue.
I fear th esolution is both cases is the same... uninstall the ship you have and install the new version. I'm sorry for the inconvienence, but these were the learning pains.
@lazerath
Balgots BSG is a work in progres. I put it up hoping it was at a workable level. It obviously is not and I will disable it on my site.

Thanks Tensin. Its not an inconveniance as Im only in the process of reinstalling all my scripts and Mod from scratch and trying to see if I get the new ships working, unlike my failings earlier
A couple more Q's.
First it may be just the screenshots, but some ships look more detailed and better than others and wondered if there is a difference in some of the poly counts or method for creating the ships used? An example is I have had a look at the screenies for the Tie Fighter (well, Interceptor) and Defender, and when compared to the screenies of the AWing X Wing Y Wing etc (rebel ones) the Rebel models dont look as good.
Second, and this may be a big thing that others may not have considered. Say I DLoad a ship off your website that you haven't done the rebalance for and I get Deadly's version (in blue) , when you have done the Rebalance and have your version for DLoad (in Green) the Autoupdate function on SHip Installer will still only look at the link for Deadly's version, and notpick up your new version - right? And Im also guessing that Im right in saying that at this point if I did want your new version over Deadly's for this one instance (Deadly if you're reading this I do love your ships and will be sticking with a lot of your versions, and this is just an example
) I would then have to manually remove Deadly's version and manually download yours into my base Mod, and only then would the autoupdate pick up your version link.
Whew, whatta mouthful

There are three reaons some ships look more detailed than others:
1. Some are highher poly counts than others.
2. Some screenshots are higher resolution than others.
3. Not all pictures there are screencaptures from X3
In the case of the Rebel and Imperial ships:
Deadly setup those and I believe they are all caps from the game. I have not taken a close look and cannot tell you whether it's the poly count or the resoultion/image quality that results in a difference in the apparent quality. I suspect that the original models in question were of differing poly counts. I fear you'll have to look in the actual game.
The autoupdate will only update the same version of the ship. Deadly's Firefly will always update to deadly's and mine will always update to mine. The XSP files point to diffferent directories on my server.
It is actualy possible to install both ships at the same time and both will update correctly. Though they have the same name to you and I, I've given them different SS_SH names... just be wary of overwriting XSP files on your drive accidently as those are often named the same between multiple version.
You can install my versions just by adding them, and choose to remove deadly's or balgots, or not.
If you want your Conastoga to be an M1, grab Deadly's. If you want a TL, frab mine... but why choose when you can have both?

Dread,
On the topic of screenshots...quite a few (at least in the DDRS thread) do not reflect the current appearance of the ship. Many of the DDRS ships have already been re-textured...and more are coming, (In the 2.3.4 release that I'll put out tonight or tomorrow, in addition to the 2 new ships, there has been a fair bit of re-texturing. The Sulaco, in particular, is now sporting a full set of X3 Split textures.

Thats Fantastic News Deadly mate. Ill give the SW set a blast. Your ships along with Mox's M7s have made such a difference in the feel to the Vanilla edition of ships where there is a strict set to each race. This way however, you still get your strict race-design ships as in vanilla, but also a growing number of...what could be viewed as a mixture of previous models, specials, joint collaboration etc type of ships, that dont adhere purely to one race, but can be seen as being a true mix. I am all for this, hell not too many years ago, I drove a car that was a Rover in label but had a lot of its parts and its engine from Honda, and Honda had their version which looked very similar but was a Honda in label and thats collaboration which some of these new ships can give us that feeling.
EDIT - I have got the whole Kabooza to work, and it was exactly like Cycrow said. To reselect the X3 directory manually rather than let the drop down menu do it - just for info for the time being for others who may have probs.
I have loaded and seen some new ships in some shipyards, but I have seen ships listed for sale that have no description and no Cr value and so dont know what the hell they are or if this is an error of some sort. Have a feeling its to do with the Battlestar MK1. I had Deadly's installed first when this prob occured once in a couple of shipyards. Then I uninstalled (using the Ship Manager prog) Deadly's version and installed Tensins version, and now I get some shipyards were the ??? ship is listed twice!

I was wondering...
I've used this and Cycrow's ship installer to install some ships into my game. I would like the change the turret on the YT-1300 to be a top and bottom turret (as they seem to be located on the top and bottom of the ship). Looking through the TShips file created when I install them they are listed as front and back. I changed them to be top and bottom but when I start the game and get a new YT-1300 they are still front and back.
I used Doubleshadow's X3 editor to edit the shipcreator.cat file and changed the turrets there. Is this the right place or should it be done elsewhere? Or is it even possible?
Thanks

yeah, editing the TShips file in shipcreator.cat is correct
however, if you do anything in the ship installer afterwards, like add new ships, remove existing ships etc then the program will recreate the tships and you will lose the changes you've made.
to make it perminant u'll have to edit the xsp file itself to include the changes you want

Changing those turrets was like the first thing I tried when I started this project.
The turret rotation is controlled by the BOD file for the turret... the "top, front, etc) seem mostly irrellevent.
On a side-note: I seem to have made a really foolish blunder. The O'Niel on my site has been pointing to a grendel XSP with a wrong name. It's repointed now.

you find them in the cat files, they will be either pbb or pbd files.
when you extract them from the cat, the pbb files will be bob, and the pbd files will be the bod files.
bob files are compressed bod files, so you need x2bc to uncompress the bob files to bod.
you can edit them with a text editor, but u can use dbox2 to export and import them to 3d studio max

With three exceptions (The Argon M1 and a pair of M5s) which have stayed in their current incarnations due to export problems: I'm happy to annouce that all of the ships in Deadly's version 2.3.4 have been grabbed from scratch with Ship Creator 1.5. They should all have texts, they should all have thumbnails, they hopefully all work, and they should all auto-update from their previous versions.
Don't know what changed from 2.3.3.a to 2.3.4, but Deadly did say there were some model improvements, and I assume stat changes.
Admittedly, that's a lot of shoulds.

Hi Tensin\Deadly\Cycrow...Yeah its ol' Dread again.
I have just done an update check on the ships, and came across 2 to be updated, so I updated as normal and then...
1) ... As the second ship installed and came with the popup mesage box advising so-and-so ship has been installed sucessfully, the program crashes with the annoying Microrape message asking to send error report.
2) I now have 2 of the ship that I 'Updated' listed as what appears to be 2 seperate versions, when I thought it would update just the current version of the ship. Pic below.
Answers or help to these would as always be great, as thats what u guys do, you do Great.
Now thats off my 'Slightly in need of some exercise saggy man-pecks joke of a Chest', I will move on.
3) All of my ships that I currently have are Deadly's rebalance versions (except the Battlestar Mk1, Firefly & Minbari Sharlin which I use Tensins). Say for example if I want to change my Omega from Deadly's rebalance to Tensins, and I Uninstall the current one and install Tensins, will there still be Deadly's versions in my savegame XUniverse and overtime it'll add Tensins version too -Or- will it replace all Omega versions in my current game with the new Tensin version straight away?
4) Continuing on from above say if I then do an autupdate and the Omega shows as a newer version from Tensin and I update, will it straight away replace all active Omega's in my savegame with the new version, or again will still have the old versions around till they get destroyed and slowly add the new version too in time?
Just a few more taxing Q's there for you guys, but I cant help it as Im so loving this new ability of possibility with ships, no game has ever been so flexible in what you do or add, its getting to the point of having a self tailored game from a basic foundation.... Actually it is a self tailored game for the individual. Again I should shut up........Now!

1) which were the ships u were updateing so i can test it and find the cause.
3) if they are different ships, ie have different authors, the installer will c them differently, so one will be removed from tships and the new one will be added. Im working on scripts to make sure that when you play, any ships you have uninstalled will also be removed from your save game, but i've not finished it yet.
4) if its just an update, the old ships will just be replaced with the new ones

1) Yes, this seems to be a problem with Cycrow's installer. I recommend holding off updates until it's sorted out... minimally, make sure a pre-1.5 savegame is in a good place.
2) Yes, it is supposed to update the existing version. Again, this appears to be a bug in the new version of the installer. Cycrow is looking at it.
3) Though they look the same, X3 sees Deadly's ships and mine as entirely different (because the SS names are different). The only interaction they have is that they use the same BOD files.
4) Ships already created in a save game do not change stats. If ships stats are changed (for example in an update) then existing ships in a savegame will not change stats... they will change appearance to match the new BOD files.
